Wing Journey updates

♣ [ANN's review of Tsubasa DVD 1]. Am personally not crazy that they (meaning Funimation) have decided to call it "Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE," when the Japanese title for the series is "Tsubasa Chronicle." I know that they're trying to be consistent with the Del Rey releases, but seriously guys, give the fans some credit; we kinda know what's up, y'know.

♣ First news of the Tsubasa OVA entitled "Tokyo Revelations." Details [here].

♣ This week: Del Rey's edition of Tsubasa #13 will be released on 13-Jun (Wed), and Kodansha's Tsubasa #19 will be released on 15-Jun (Fri).

♣ As for Wing Journey itself, the [artbook section] has been broken off into its own page. Mostly there's just a lot of cleaning up and catching up. Expect additional things by the end of this week.

♣ I attended NYCC and was excited about possibly seeing the English premiere of Tsubasa Chronicles, but unfortunately, it had conflicted with another manga panel that I wanted to attend, so I only got to see the voice actor discussion panel. Three of the voice actors and the ADR director were present (see cast list here). They seemed enthusiastic enough about the show, so ummm, maybe they'll be good?

♣ At the Del Rey panel, I asked if there would be any interest in publishing the upcoming Tsubasa artbook. Dallas Middaugh hemmed and hawed, but he did leave it open to say that they would be interested in all things Tsubasa, so why not. So, if you want to get the Tsubasa artbook in English, Del Rey's contact info is delreymanga[at]randomhouse[dot]com.

♣ chibiyuuto posts a photograph of the 2nd box...which I would have had in my possession by now had I gotten up when the mail carrier rang the doorbell yesterday. Ah well.

♣ If you're attending New York Comic Con, there is a special screening of the anime scheduled on Saturday. It'll probably be the dubbed version, since they are scheduled to have the voice actors and ADR director there and all.

♣ R1 Tsubasa Chronicle [1 + box], [DVD 1] released by Funimation up for pre-order, to be released on 22-May 2007

♣ Artbook entitled Tsubasa Art Collection -ALBuM De REProDUCTioNS- scheduled for release on 18-April 2007.

♣ Japanese volume 18 (hardcover and softcover) will be released 16-March 2007. Subaru graces the cover of the hardcover ed.

♣ CLAMP in 3-D Land 2 is scheduled for release in March 2007.

[Magazine scans] updated with images from all of July to October issues of Newtype, Animage, and Animedia.

[Anime info] has the covers available for the 2nd and 3rd DVDs of Tsubasa Chronicle Series 2.

Next series of updates should be manga-related, I think.

* YesAsia: slightly pricier than HLJ pre-order. Generally dependable but again, could run into problems with fulfillment.
