Okay so I just played a worldwide wi-fi game for the first time in a few weeks and I'm up against a guest and a player with a rank of ~4000, so I think, okay, this will be easy. I get in the game and find that the guest player follows me around for the whole game pelting me with whatever offensive items he picks up while (what I assume is) his friend with the low ranks yoinks first place and steals many ranks off me. i.e.: He'd pick up three red shells, hit me with one, wait next to me, hit me with another, etc.

Any of you had this happen to you before?

So I'm playing online, and someone picks Delfino Square. At least, I think that's what it's called. Anyway, I started in 1st (rare) and right after we went up the hill, I and the 10 others out of 12 crashed right into the fountain. Why?

Because it was on mirror mode! Argh! Anyone else absolutely hate this?

Which brings me to my real question:
How do you select mirror mode tracks online?

Playing onlie just got that much more fun to me. I get really excited when I'm in a good race. I mean, really, really excited. For the first time last night, I broke 7000 points, and today I was thrown into a group of 11 others with 7000-9000 points and it was extremely fun. I started with 7300 two hours ago, now I'm on... 7300! Brilliant.

Okay, so this may be a dumb question but..
Is it me, or do you go like *really* slow on straights when using manual?

I usually use automatic, but lately been trying manual drift, and I find whenever I get a boost from a drift then go straight into a wheelie, I suddenly slow down immensely, so my automatic ghost wizzes past me until I go into another corner. My controllers are fully charged and I don't take my thumb off the 2 on my wii wheel so I don't understand why it does it..

Can anyone explain this? Or am I doing something stupid? Thanks! ^^

PS: Has that community tournament been cancelled or something? Everyone's forgotten about it, it seems :P

So, I've finally been playing my first few games of MarioKart online at the moment and I'm pretty confused by something that was happening in one of my first races. There were people playing that had really low VRs and they'd get so far ahead of the pack and then all of a sudden stop and wait for people to catch up and then slam them with bullets, stars, or fire blue shells and then that would happen all throughout the match.

What's that all about?

Now, I really do love Mario Kart, but I bet, like me, you have a few things about Mario Kart that annoy the hell out of you. For me:

-when voting for a track in a WFC VS race and you're waiting hella long for just one last person to submit their track vote and of course, they send in a big fat "?". If you dont care which track we race, do you have to waste the other 11 peoples time??

-Being in a really great race with some one where you have the lead for most of the race or you guys keep switching 1st and 2nd place throughout the race and then about %75 of the way through the last lap, you get hit with the blue shell and that gives your opponent the now very easy win.

-And honestly, as much as I love riding the motorcycles, and it seems most people agree they are better than karts, I wish they didnt have as big an advantage as they do. I wish I was more compelled to select a kart once in a while. Whenever I race really high ranked racers they ALL use bikes. Anyone out there got a 7500+ VR using a kart exclusively? Should they have called this game Mario Bikes??

You got any to add?

Hello guys~

Have you ever had one of those days playing online or even offline where everything seems to go wrong for you? Always get the worst items, always mere points away from getting that star ranking for a GP, getting hit with a blue shell right when you're about to win and end up close to last place EVERY track you play?

Well that definitely happened to me today online. Every single race I played, no matter if I was good at it or not, I somehow always managed to screw up somewhere along the line and I ended up in seventh or eighth place, causing me to lose TONS of points. I literally went from 9000 points to nearly 8000. u_u; I can tell you, I as very frusterated and I don't think I want to play the game for a few days now.

TL;DR Share your worst-luck moments in Mario Kart Wii.

Cuz thats exactly what I want. If you're good, like star ranking and you have a VR of 7600 or better and you'd like to race me online, I'd love to exchange friend codes with you. I only have a few friends that have MK and I destroy all of them, so I'm looking for some more challenging opponents that I can race semi-regularly and can push me to be better/teach me new techniques. I'm in Pacific Standard Time and will race any time of day but I'm most often on very late at night.

My MK code is 5198-2980-5637.
