alright i'm about to move in three weeks and i was wondering:

is there a new house blessing i could perform before/directly after i move in?

i prefer to use my own spells but since i've never done this sort of thing before i don't even know where to begin when it comes to designing one. i already know about the cleansing and plan to do that but i'd like to add a blessing as well.

so...ideas? thoughts? suggestions? all are appreciated and thanks in advance for any and all advice ^_^

So, my friend and I each purchased a witch ball recently. I know that these can be used as a means of protection. My question is this:

Does anyone have any methods that they use to charge a witch ball? Are you supposed to cleanse/charge it? Can anyone offer me more information about these beautiful hanging glass orbs?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I never realized exactly how little I know about the witch ball.

Ok, so I did a spell 2-3 weeks ago and I'm thinking of recasting... 

I did a candle ritual/spell from Buckland's candle burning book. Any thoughts to something I could do to perhaps make it more likely to work this time around? Should I add my quartz to the altar? 

I know I might be acting a little impatient but it was a spell you do everynight for a number of nights and during the spell process the situation improved and the week afterwards the situation was getting better and now its worse than when I casted. I'm thinking it needs to be redone.

Hi you guys. I just joined this community. I'm going to post the answers to the suggested questions on the profile page.

1. What is your path?
My path is basic pagan because I haven't felt a strong connection to any one certain path. For a while I was thinking I'd like to try Druidism but I'm not drawn to it, nor to any other. So... yeah, basic Pagan (sorry, I ramble a lot).

2. How long have you been practicing?
On and off for about 6 years, but I haven't been able to get serious because until just this year my mother was freaked out about it. I finally convinced her that it was all right.

3. Do you follow any certain deities? If so who?
Not any certain one, I'm still searching for one or two that seem tied to me.

4. Practice any type of Divination? What types?
I dabble in tarot and am trying to teach myself to use runes.

5. What do you hope to see/learn in this community?
I hope to gain some more insight and friendships, also I hope to learn more about the craft.

6. Anything else you'd like to share?
Uhm... not that I can think of. I'm basically boring because I'm still trying to learn, so I'm sorry about that. But I really would like to be able to talk to you all on here<3.

Does anyone here actively celebrate the moon phases?

If you do or plan to in the future, do you celebrate the Full Moon, the New Moon, or both?

I'm looking to add an Esbat into my own practice so I'm looking around for ideas, and I'm trying to decide which moon phase I'd rather celebrate, and my reasons for doing so.

Any input would be great ^_^

Here is a ritual I found in a handy little Moon Magic book I have, thought you might like it:


Full Moon Ritual

You will need a large bowl, preferably made of silver, and a jasmine joss-stick or incense. If you cannot perform this ritual outside or indoors where the light of the Moon pours in, use either three candles or one large, thick, silver candle as a substitute for the moonlight.

Burn incense. Look at the reflection of the Moon in the water. Say:

‘Lady of Dreams, be my inspiration;
Gypsy of the Skies, be my guide;
Queen of the Night, be my protector.’

Drink a little of the water. Immerse your hands in it, then anoint your face, eyes, lips, breast belly, feet and any part of you that needs healing. If you wish to become pregnant trace a spiral of the water around your navel.

Pour any unused water onto the ground.



What are you planning on doing this Full Moon?

Any book references for Crystal Magic? 

I have books about Crystals such as The Crystal Bible and Crystal Encyclopedia both by Judy Hall and I have Love is in the Earth... 

But any books on actual Crystal Magic that might talk about spells and rituals using Crystals and perhaps charging and clensing of crystals? 

Also! I bought a few crystals today. I found one of those grab bag things when I was at the mall and got 2 bags of stones and I got a large Quartz pillar crystal and one of my cats is absolutely drawn to it. Has anyone heard of Quartz drawing cats?

According to the card that came with the crystal grab bag... the little stones include Quartz, Amethyst, Carnelian, Turquoise, Hematite, Rose Quartz, Citrine, and Agate.  I'm sure I didn't grab everything and a some of them do not match the pictures of the stones at all so I'm thinking there might be others mixed in.  Also after getting my grab bags home to look at them, the Carnelian stones look identical to my pyramid... maybe its Carnelian? 

If this venture has done anything its shown me I know absolutely NOTHING about crystals. Its even hard for me to figure out which one's which when given a card of only 8 stones to choose from. lol.

Source is www.crystalhealingcenter.com they have alot more info on crystals there. I was actually looking for some info on healing to share but didn't find much of anything good. So if anyone has info on crystal healing to share that would be great.

 I was wondering if anyone knew of any good DVDs on Witches &/or Witchcraft? Either instructional or documentary-type.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew crystals REALLY well? I recently recieved a pyramid and I cannot figure out what stone its made from.  

I figured we should probably start a post on books to add to the memories. Any that you have found useful or want to share, comment and tell us.

On our subject of Crystals I am always told to look through Love is in the Earth, though I haven't gotten to it yet.

As for ones personally I have enjoyed:

for solitary- Buckland's Wicca for One was pretty descent
Rituals- Rituals for Life (I think Brenda Knight I need to find it again but that is the title)

And I'm still working through The Witches Qabala but it's very good so far. And of course there many other good ones I haven't gotten to yet.

I would be interested to know if anyone knows something about totem animals.  I am very interested in finding my totem animal, but am unsure how to do so.

I have a pretty decent collection of stones but I've never used them for anything. When it comes to being attuned to energy, I'm not your girl. I've never been able to get anything magickal/spiritual or what have you from my collection, and mostly just have them because I like the way they look. I mean, I've tried carrying them around and whatnot in hopes of benefiting from their magickal properties, but there weren't any results from it.

So I was wondering if I was the only person with this sort of problem. :/ It sorta bums me out that my gems are nothing more than rocks that sit on my shelf.

5. What do you hope to see/learn in this community? I'm still feeling my way around. I've always been interested in Wiccan, but didn't know how to get started on my own. I still don't, and even though there are books out there specifically for solo practitioners, not having anything/anyone to compare my experiences to is pretty alone-making, so I would love to see just general stories about just being solo, recommended books, relationships with Deities.

6. Anything else you'd like to share? I'm a college student; i'll be a junior in the fall.

I apologize but I don't have any pictures to offer up at the moment. I'm currently at my parent's house and my collection, for the most part, is at my apartment. All I can do until tonight is offer a description of what I have.

Azurite - Increases communication skills, intuition, creativity and inspiration. Great for third eye chakra meditation. Helps aid healing, liver, brain stimilation, nerve activity.

Chalcopyrite (Peacock Ore) - Increases perception. Used to break energy blocks and great for crown chakra meditation or great for meditation in general.

Galena - Brings strength and courage, great healing stone and is used for many things. Some healers will use it to protect against ill effects of radiation. Main point is to use it when facing or overcoming your deepest fears.

Tektite - Increases telepathy when used during meditation. Can also clear the lower chakras. For those who don't know what tektite is, it's formed when large meteorites strike the Earth. Think of it's creation similar to how obsidian is formed but with molten meteorite.

Rose Quartz - Love stone. Opens the heart to love.

Citrine - Healing, very powerful.

Amethyst - Helps to calm you down, great for stress. Sleep with it under your pillow to help chase away bad dreams and have a peaceful sleep. I, personally, have noted enhanced dreams when sleeping with my large chunk of amethyst under my pillow. It's more likely that I dream shift (therianthropy term) when I have amethyst (or galena for that matter) under my pillow.

Clear Quartz - Basically "all purpose." You can use it for meditation, protection, cleansing, etc. I carry one around with me every day.

Selenite - Another love stone if exchanged between lovers. Also increases telepathic ability.

Amber - Power and healing.

I'm always adding to my collection so it's always growing! I'll try to get some quality pictures tonight of a few of my items if anyone is interested in actually seeing pictures of my collection.
