AboutLiveJournal recently caved in to the complaints of self-designated moral gatekeepers and shut down a mass of accounts and communities. This is a place to discuss what is happening and why, to give LiveJournal management a place to explain their actions, and to remind them that as nearly all of us have "acceptable" accounts also with LJ, that we are free to take our business elsewhere and encourage others to do the same if they prove that the environment that they wish to create is not one of free and open communication, the internet at its best, but paranoia and censorship hysteria, the internet at its worst.
