Hola, Chochachos. Long time, no gab.

What's happening over here? Much and little. That is, much occurs, but most of it is still invisible from your perspective.

Werewolf: It's out and people are grooving. Rockies is back from the printer and in the warehouse. Predators is in layout, all fine and dandy. I'm seconds away from putting Lore of the Forsaken into the editor's hands. Ethan's next project is Blood of the Wolf and to prepare for it, he has been coming to work in a bizarre set of wolfskin overalls.

For Vampire, Ordo Dracul will presently be in the proofing stage of layout. VII will finish development soon and hie itself off to the editor. Invictus is the next book in development. Ghouls is in the warehouse and the cover is bloody creepy, let me tell you. Go look.

    Mage is being canceled.

Just kidding. Calm down, you psychos. Mage has been through its first editorial pass and is in its second. After that, it goes to layout. I'd tease you with a bit of art here, but I don't want to step on Rich T.'s toes, so I'll let him get to that at his own pace.

What I can show you, though, is a little bit of the concept art developed back in the very, very early planning stages of the game. I can't yet vouch for what made the final cut and what didn't, conceptually, but here's one of my own sketches.

So there you go. Seriously, Mage is still on target for GenCon.

Writers are hard at work on WoD: Armory as we speak. Mysterious Places went to the printer two days ago. I have an idea for a WoD one-shot set in northern Europe in 1944, but that probably won't see print. So, uh, I don't know why I'm telling you that.

John is hard at work on Exalted's Bastions of the North, for which Geoff is doing some writing. Aspect Book: Wood is in Production right now. Cult of the Illuminated is at press.

This weekend is our one-year anniversary of owning our bar, The Independent! Although I still think it's a ploy to funnel company moneys from employee pockets back into White Wolf coffers. On the other hand, Miller High Life drafts are a buck on Thursdays. Note to self: Today's Thursday.

That's all the news that's fit to print. Talk atcha again soon.

No it's not. My heart skipped a beat. Seriously, if I died right now, one of my fetters would be my Mage collection.

Cruel, cruel man you are, Mr. Achilli.

But get some of that info up on here so we can devour it like jackals. May I ask when the teasers are going to start, like the ones they had for VtR and WtF?

Try D02: Know No Limit. It's practically crawling with Ninjas and Sharks. And Ninja Sharks. With Guns. With bees in their mouths and when they cough they shoot bees at you.

    On crack.

An ATM machine is the machine you get ATMs from.
variations From: [info]variations Date: April 15th, 2005 05:10 pm (UTC) (Link)
Exactly. Then again, your PIN number is the number of your personal identification number... which doesn't make much sense.

    ...

    Not if you're speaking about a girl/relationship!

Then the 'First anniversary' is the next day... the second is the next week... third is within the next month (maybe sooner)... by the time you have your 'one-year anniversary' you're on your 20th or so anniversary...(they're just not yearly)

    The Independent!

Just woundering, how far is it from the Hyat and Marriot? Cause I was thinking of stoping there at DC, tho wait a second all the WW people are proply at the con. Maybe I could just go there one weekend i feel like getting drunk in a city I only sorta know well. At least in theory I have friends there.

In a few hours there will be a thread in the Mage forums trying to decipher that sketch to find clues as to what spheres, traditions, etc. are going to be in M:TA, as well as what letter the Mage morality stat begins with.

    You suck.

That's why I do this stuff.
kmagefyre From: [info]kmagefyre Date: April 14th, 2005 10:44 pm (UTC) (Link)
Mages are all part of a secret asian assassins organization. Booze is used to fuel their powers, and their power is to create money. Vampires and werewolves fear them, as they would flip out and kill them, because they're totally sweet!
aberranteyes From: [info]aberranteyes Date: April 14th, 2005 11:58 pm (UTC) (Link)
what letter the Mage morality stat begins with.

I think it starts with an E. We'll find out in four months, either way.
tragicallyhip From: [info]tragicallyhip Date: April 15th, 2005 01:33 am (UTC) (Link)
I only hope that bottle with the three "x"es on the side implies there will be a lot of hillbilly wizards in Mage. Otherwise I'll be sorely dissapointed.
uhlrik From: [info]uhlrik Date: April 15th, 2005 05:51 am (UTC) (Link)
If there are no hillbillies, there is no magic. That simple.

Maybe the power stat will be "Moonshine".
tragicallyhip From: [info]tragicallyhip Date: April 15th, 2005 08:19 am (UTC) (Link)
Maybe the jugs are the new avatars, wholely existing in the spirit world, perceivable only in the spirit realm.

Consequently, perhaps the Xs are literal representations of their Moonshine stat. This would provide a mechanic like the one in Vampire enabling you to determine the relative power level of fellow supernaturals. Except in this case, you'd just be able to determine the quantative power of said hillbilly.

So, in this case he'd have a three Moonshine. Probably one of Justin's experienced characters who's a Necrodipsomantic cyberninja with a gun fixation. I've played one of those a few times myself, in a homebrewed system of course.

If any of these predictions are true, the new mage is going to rock.
uhlrik From: [info]uhlrik Date: April 15th, 2005 09:09 am (UTC) (Link)
hillbilly cyberninjas with gun fixations and spiritual moonshine jugs whose # of Xs reveals the ninja's power..yeah it's totally going to rock.

    What about Exalted??

Last time, you said "Geoff and John are also hard at work on a super-sekrit project that... well, I'll tell you about that later."

Isn't now like, later, or something?

Screw Mage! Tell us something super-sekrit about Exalted!
