Police believe the person who took the vehicle might have information about the murder. The vehicle is described as a 2000 Nissan Xterra, silver in color, with a bumper sticker on the back window of the vehicle that reads, “Infantry.” The plates on the Xterra are Missouri 3DF16W (also reported as 3DFL6W). Police encourage citizens to be on the lookout for any vehicle matching that description. Any sightings should be reported to police through 911.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing and Police are actively working all available leads. Police encourage any witnesses to call 864-1810 or make an anonymous report at 869-TIPS (Crime Stoppers). If information given leads to the conviction of a suspect, a cash award may be considered for the tipster.

doctor imposed house arrest. Still moving a bit slow (haven't walked
on my foot in a month), but making progress. The doc has basically
dismissed me, back to work next week (rest of this week off to
re-learn to walk), but has forbidden my brand new, only worn twice ren
boots, so if anyone's been considering buying a pair, contact me &
we'll dicker(I believe size 9).

As i am not part of the "Live Journal" that eveyone talks I will place
the list of needed items here and ask that someone simply forward it
to where ever you actually wanted me to do this. (:s)
If you find something you would like to help with or don't mind
letting us borrow, please just reply to this, that way we have a
running tally of what has already been offered and we are not ending
up with tons of one item, and not enough of any others. :)

Lighting (Citronella candles, Tiki Torches, camp lights)

*Note: If you offer one of these items, we will mark them so they get
back to the original owners.

Help needed:
We will also need help with the serving and the cooking. If anyone
would like to offer their help during fair who has some extra time, or

Saturday's morning meeting.

IF you were at morning meeting Sunday (and you should have been) it was announced that we will be having a bakery booth (bake sale) to benefit the Faire. Please bake bake bake this week to donate to the cause. if you can individually wrap and label the items (what it is, if it is sugar free, gluten free, nut free {for those with allergies} that would be incredibly helpful) We are also looking for donations of staple items: cups for COFFEE ( I will provide powdered creamer and sugar packets) and lemonade, cling wrap, extra tables. I am also searching for a large 32 cup coffee maker one of the stainless steel ones and a large pump thermos that we can have in the booth as the maker will be elsewhere.
This is a benefit for White Hart any and all donations will be used to benefit the Faire. tangeable items like the thermos and coffeemaker and tables will be returned last day.
If you have any other suggestions let me know and I will be happy to see what I can do.

Well, second visit to the wound care clinic was today. He's been x-rayed, O2-checked, appt made for an MRI EARLY Monday, cleaned out, antibioticked, told to stay off it, has a note for another week off work, and will be seeing the orthopedic surgeon either Monday or Tuesday.

90% chance at least the fifth toe and metatarsal are going bye-bye.

Friends loaned us a pair of crutches while he has orders to "Stay off the foot!" and he's using them about 50% of the time. Unless they're "in the way" or "annoying" or he "needs to carry something."

One Note for the web mistress:

Not to nitpick or anything but the times for the faire are not on the www.whitehart-faire.com website. Although the calendar near the bottom of the front page, which I can't seem to open, the alt text pops up as 9am.

The times on the Historic Arts website say 10am-6pm, and the Historic Arts site is still the one that comes up first on Google when you do a search for "whitehart renaissance".

My point is we don't want people showing up at 8:30am waiting for the gates to open at 9am if the correct opening gate is 10am.

Otherwise the website looks good, I'm glad to see the entertainment and merchant lists are on the site now.

2008 season

Folks, it looks like we won't make it out even as playtrons/patrons this year. Rick (aka Angus MacTaggert, aka Angus the Loud) finally went to a doctor about that blister he got at Joplin back in April and, well, we're trying to keep his foot attached. This is going to entail several daily trips to the Medical South Building in Springfield to clean and treat the wound, may involve overnight stays, and I don't know what-all else.
Anyhow, I'm betting that a lot of walking on uneven ground is gonna be NOT what the doc orders.

I may make it out for one day, depending on his mental state, or I may not. Right now, he's...not in a good place. The doctor said he "tried to throw a scare into him" to ensure compliance, not realizing that by the time he makes an appointment, he's already plenty scared, so this dude made matters worse.

He's scared. I'm scared (and can't show it 'cause he's scared), and I don't know WHAT's going to happen.

Good thoughts, candles, prayers, whatever, 'k?

Just please, don't be all doom and gloom at him, he's gloomin' enough right now!

Bob Aanonsen, his lady, the birds, myself, my hubby, and my son are needing someplace to crash 2nd and 3rd weekend of WH. Camping is out, as we can't do that with the birds. Federally protected and all that. We aren't looking for a bed and breakfast, we are willing to feed ourselves. We just need a place to sleep, and shower. I have some other feelers out, a friend's father (who we are staying with 1st weekend) is looking around for us for a cheap place to stay.

If any of you have any ideas, or can help us out, please let me know.

I'm trying to work on the cover art for the WH compilation, "AfFaires of the Hart".

I need two things:
We're wanting to use the court pic from the first year that was on the home page of the original web-site. I've looked through all the images on my computer and Bruce's and apparently do not have it. I think that the wonderful photographers from TX, Dana and his wife (whose name I've blanked) shot that image.

Second, I need either a line drawing of the White Hart logo that was used to make the medallions of I guess I could take a picture of one of the medallions. I'm not the world's best photographer but I guess I'll try that tomorrow.

And of course, I'm in a hurry for it. In our usual fashion, we've waited once again until the damned last minute to finish this thing.

Where: Kate's house in Lawrence, KS. I'm not posting the address
publicly, so if you want to come, please email me at sherwood21 at
gmail dot com, and I'll send you the address as well as directions.

ALL are welcome - there will be fabric for trade, for sale super
cheap, and for FREE, as this was set up to help some of us
seamstresses clean out our fabric stashes.

If you want to bring fabric to trade, sell, or give away, please read
this next part.

If it's lengths, please tag it with your name, as well as the length
and width of the piece to help prevent confusion.

We plan to have two categories of stuff - stuff that is free, and
stuff that is for sale/trade.

Anyone who wants to participate may bring stuff for sale/trade AND/OR
stuff to give away. I would suggest bringing a card table or arranging
how you want to set your stuff out. We'll have a couple tables, but
not necessarily enough for everyone.

Anyone is welcome to any of the free stuff. Any of the free stuff
that's left over will be sorted into fabrics, patterns, and notions,
and go to a friend's school for their home ec department. Scraps will
be donated somewhere - there are a lot of options there, like the
senior center here, and the arts center.

Susi brought a spreadsheet when she brought fabric to the costuming
workshop, noting down who got what, to keep track of her own
inventory. Thought it was a cool idea, and something to suggest for
helping keep track of what's yours and sold to whom.

I certainly hope to see some of you there!

...is a most interesting paper I found on-line detailing the daily life of Queen Elizabeth; how her household ran in very great detail, right down to the departments of the house, what everyone was paid and who did what. Gives very great detail to matters that are rarely considered.

Fascinating stuff. Also sounds as if the whole thing was a right bloody mess. No wonder she went on progress so often, more than just the condition of the privies, I'm sure!

Little green growing things

The Whitehart grounds needs some pretties! As in flowers and plants. I personally want a rose garden because my character is obsessed with them. But the grounds could also use several other small gardens planted about. Herbs and flowers and vegetables, its a village after all!. The ticket booth and front gates would look lovely with some clematis on it IMO.

In order to have everything blooming and growing well by June we need to get to planning and planting soon! I am wondering who all would like to help me out in this.

As there is little money for improvements it would all have to come out of our own pockets, but seeds don't cost much. However we'd need more then seeds. And people that know what they are doing is the MOST important thing. I can pick my dad's brain from afar but people that can come to the sight and tell what the soil needs and where the best places to plant are very much needed.

But even if you don't know a thing about plants you can still help! It doesn't take much know how to dig a hole and plant something. Or help clear out a patch of brambles and weeds to have a place for a garden.

I've looked on the web-site and the pictures of last year aren't there and the pic of Charles on the info page is gone. The only pic I find is the wedding one of Charles and Di...what the heck happened to the web-site?

Maud Chandler is going to be vending this season, I've already got it in my book so I don't schedule anything over the top of Faire!

IF my license is back by then, I'd like to have my massage table st up also -- but that means I'd need someone to watch the first booth! ladybarnard, I think you had asked about that? Are you booked up yet?

Even if I'm not legal, I'll bring the table for after hours.

I won't be able to make Keltoi (Joplin), though -- classes scheduled those days! Next year, though, 'k?
