Motivation
Since deciding not to go to Whitters in April, and possibly not even in November either, i seem to have no motivation at all.
While shopping last night i just thought to myself while skimming the cheese, chocolate and pizza shelves "Ah. nobody's going to see me!" because i rarely go out in the town i live in. Well.. not to goth nights and the like anyway.

Any tips on getting my wilpower back? I don't really want to stay a size 20 all my life, ta very much!

If social events motivate you, organise Whitby alternatives :) A trip down to London or something?

Or go back to your idea of a particular dress to slim into - who cares if no-one sees you, you'll feel incredible :)

change your mind, go to whitby, and use it as motivation?!!!

or get a photoshoot booked or someting that you will take up on when you get to target so you know you'll have pics of yourself looking fabulous to prove you are??

and even if you say "possibly not november" just think "possibly november" and work on it that way.

oh and avoid the sweet aisles!!
and the pizza ailses!! and all the other ones you are tempted by.

write a grocery list and go straight from fruit and veg to cereals then to checkout!!

do what i do and avoid the big sainsburys and go to the little one where there's less temptation!

only order groceries online!!!

keep a bar of black choc in the cupboard and when youre really desperate have one small piece, slowly. dont touch again til another attack happens. meanwhile eat oranges or something if you fancy a sweet.

and drink lots and lots of water!

find a pic of yourself that you like and stick it somewhere, maybve with a pic you dont like so you can compare and keep yourself motivated. kitchen door/fridge might be a good place?

so plan your photoshoot and dresses/outfits that you want to wear and give yourself a target date to book it buy, so if you wanna lost 20lb, give yourself about 16 weeks to do it so you have some leeway and then set smaller targets along the way!

by end of the summer (4 months), ie august/sept time, you should look stunning and be able to have a late summer/early autumn shoot planned and booked!!!

:)

do athletic poses to burn off extra calories whilst practicing!!! and do lots of walking by surveying the surrounding countryside on foot to find good locations to shoot!!!

Hmmmmmm I don't think the lightning flash/bolt from the blue motivation thingy exists- not even pictures of me with 4 chins get me going, unless you count to the offie/on the phone to Dominos.

That said- best thing that's got me on the long and winding road to fitness/size 10 (I hope) is starting to exercise.Trust me I'm the worlds laziest person but since discovering "modification" I actually get an utter rush from aerobic exercise at my fitness level (i.e pretty nonexistent). It gives me alot more energy, is keeping me off the anti-depressants and I hesitate to say a long shower with Lush Narcotick is better than sex but it's up there as one of life's great "ahhhhhhhh" moments.

So my advice is just start doing some gentle exercise trying to raise the heartrate but still being able to hold a conversation for about 30-45 mins a day. It may make you feel better and then the sensible eating thing might just follow. And even if you do fall off the wagon you don't feel half so bad.

Sorry if I've come across all Pollyanna as I'm an utter cynic generally (ask [info]stephanielay ) but it's working for me at the moment.

P.S All this is from Susan Powter's stuff- she may be a bit psycho of late but you can't beat the theory

I think you may well be right!
I used to play basketball professionally a few years back and, obviously, when i stopped the weight just crept up, and up, and... wham! I had gone from a size 12 to a 22 in a few years.

Swimming is quite good, isn't it? *hopes*
