Sexy Sunday charity collections at WGW
    Ok here we go

    £125 from Freaky Friday
    £180 from Sexy Sunday
    £104 from Manic Monday

    Making a total of £409

Many thanks to all who donated cash or bought a raffle ticket. It really does make a difference to the cats protection, labrador welfare and Whitby dog rescue.

Many thanks to Euan and Audrey for their raffle collecting. who would refuse to give a Scot a £1

Thanks also to Dave the Hat and Richard Saltmarsh for their cracking work and Dj efforts at Freaky Friday. The night was a huge success and we hope to be back again in October. i just wonder if the Shambles can cope with the influx of people again the bar staff were exhausted.

Official statement re Sexy Sunday October dates
It has come to my attention that there is a great deal of confusion over the dates of future events in Whitby and several people have enquired as to my intent.

I can confirm Sexy Sunday and Manic Monday dates will NOT change, but will STILL be Halloween weekend as originally planned.

This decision is final, as I have booked venues, PA hire and accommodation for staff as well as annual leave from day jobs and so on. I have also printed tickets and 10 000 fliers. The cost both financially and environmentally of scrapping them is too great to make it viable.

I cannot see any benefit to be gained by Sexy Sunday from altering our dates, given the upheaval and wastage this would generate and the unavailability of key personnel on the alternative date.

I hope this clarifies any concerns raised.

    BIG Thanks From Kumquat Comedy
A BIG thankyou to all those who came along to both Dead Funny comedy nights on Fri and Sat at the Rifle Club. We had a really good turnout, especially for the Moths Ate My Dr Who Scarf show on Sat. Both gigs went really well and the comedians, the audience, the bar staff and ourselves all had a great time and many good laughs which is what it's all about!

A special thankyou to Dave and the bar staff at the Rifle Club and Brian and company for doing such a great job of manning the PA and the door.

Looking forward to working with the lovely Jo and WGW again in Oct now, we have some excellent acts in mind so watch this space!

This April we made £360 for the Charity, which is good going.
So thanks to all who brought clothes to sell and who bought clothes and an even bigger thank you to those who magiced up a couple of rails for us - without you the stall would not have been able to go ahead.
We hope to see you all in October!

    October 2009 dates?
Well, I'm sure many of us who have just returned from Whitby will have heard the rumour that the October 2009 Whitby dates have been changed from the 30/31 October weekend originally announced (and still listed on the official WGW site).

I sort of recall that the rumour I heard was that it had been brought forward by a week - although it appears someone on the WGW Forums heard the rumour that it has been put back a week.

Anyone know any more? Failing that, anyone care to engage in ill informed speculation? ;-)

    Anyone?
This may be a bit of a long shot, being as it's a bit too late in the day to be asking; however, I'm constantly surprised at what the goth community at large get up to, so who knows?

Basically, are there any revellers who might be up for a skate over the weekend? Whitby has (not so) recently been graced with a rather small, but perfectly formed skatepark. If it's dry, I'll probably be there rolling around and falling off.

    If not, no worries!

Of course, the overlap between Goths and Doctor Who fans is virtually nil. But it only seems fair to point out that Terrance Dicks will be next door in Scarborough library on Saturday. Look, I can prove it.
