Ultrasound update

Today was my "big" ultrasound. No major or minor visible defects! This is fabulous news. I'm at 20 weeks.

And the parity between twins is only 6%, so no TTTS (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.)

Weighing in at 13 oz, baby A has a heartbeat of 165.

And weighing in at 14 oz, baby B has a heartbeat of 163.

Oh, and they're both female. Whoo!

I have a question and I think someone here should know the answer.

Does anyone know in which book Rand first starts to talk to Lews Therin Telamon in his head? I'm trying to find the reference...

Thanks,
Nic

LoA for me!

*waves to everyone*

I just wanted to let y'all know that I'm going to be without internet access until December 20th. I'm leaving school and going to a friend's for a few days for some well-deserved rest & relaxation. I will have my laptop with me, but internet access will be quite minimal.

Hope everyone has a happy and hale holiday. :)

New PS Overlady!

A week or so ago, the Officers received sad tidings from Cara: she's planning on retiring from her Officer position, due to not quite having enough time anymore. Never fear, though-Cata'rina Sedai and Lady Lilith will still be PC's, just not quite as prominent as they once were. Many thanks to Cara for all of her hard work maintaining the PS section over the time she's been here, and for the logical input she's provided the Officers. We'll miss you, Cara!

So, understandably, this left us Officers with a position to fill, and it didn't take us long at all to decide on a replacement. Without further ado, I would like to welcome Amy, writer of Darkfriend Shiemi Telamur to the Officer team!

Thank you Amy for accepting the position so exuberantly, and for you PSers, she'll be introducing herself to you soon enough.

(Don't forget to go Vote in November's Site Picks!)

That darn book...

Okay, question.

Is Knife of Dreams worth my $30 to buy it in hardcover? Be honest, now. Tempt me with the wonderful White Tower secrets I'll learn. =D

New Community

Hey guys! I created a new community, called [info]deja_vu_movies where we can discuss and review all of the movies that we've seen or want to see. Everyone is welcome to join, so head on over! :)

I have decided to unveil the new site design--as in, upload it over the old site *grins*--on August 7th. I consider it a birthday present to myself. (Plus, when I look back a while from now and go, "When did I redesign the site?" I'll actually be able to remember the date.)

So... spread the word! The WoT RP is about to be revamped! =D

Bookworm community

I figured I'd open this up to everyone--

Yay! I made a new community!

I used to keep summaries of books I was reading, and I thought it'd be fun to do it again in a community of book reviews. It'll be a great way to find new authors. There's even a handy rating system I made up: scale of 1-10. Genius, huh?

Come join! Books We Have Read

This is what Joni does during the holidays...

Ever wondered why the heck you're subscribed to the WoT RP LJ community? I mean, what has it ever done for you? Has anything worthwhile ever come from it?

Well, I can't answer those questions. =D But I do have a small perk for y'all: after... oh, about four years of our site looking roughly the same, I have finally settled on a new layout that is operational, pretty, and far more modern than the pretty basic one we have now.

As loyal WoT RP members (hey, you're on our LJ, aren't you?), you get to have some input into a few things about the site's new layout. But before I ask those questions, here she is!

Okay, hey everyone. I've had a journal here for a little while, but I just never got around to posting here on the community.

Have you ever logged in and then hit update and had the darn thing say you weren't logged in. It did that to me 3 times before it stayed logged in everytime I hit a link. So anyway, hey everyone. Luc al'Marin is back after a long break. There was somethings in my personal life that needed sorted out and now that I have done that I'm back or will be very soon. So look for him on the boards again.

Donna made the Officers this really cool survey / quiz thing, and I had a lot of fun doing it. I thought that I'd change a few little things around in it and post it here for you ex-Officers, because now I'm curious about what you'd say. :) Hopefully Donna doesn't mind that I borrowed her fabulous quiz! *snugs Donna*

Anyway, have fun doing it. :)

Meh.

Community seems to be dead in the water, so I thought I'd come poke it.

I'm trying to write a proposal about changing board styles: anyone who wants to come help me think up ways to convince the offies is welcome. aessedai@rock.com</a> is me. By "board styles" I do not mean the decorations. I was thinking more along the lines of a board system that has self-editing features and possibly internal private-messaging. It'd be quite nice to be able to edit your own post without having to try and flag someone else down and then hope they're in the mood to do it. That, and it would be very nice indeed to be able to change a post, lengthen a post, etc, without getting a scathing note about it...although that's not one of my problems, now is it.

Anyway. Feel free to drop me a line about it, and if nobody gives a damn, I'll still write the thing myself so I can be the object of abject ridicule.

Amusing conversation I had with my parents earlier tonight...

Me: Can we go to Barnes and Noble?
My mom: Is there something in particular you need?
Me: Yeah.
My dad: What is it?
Me: A certain book.
My dad: What's it called?
Me: You want the title? You wouldn't have heard of it. It's called New Spring.
My mom: Is it a novel?
Me: Yeah.
My mom: One of those fantasy books?
Me: Yeah.
My dad: New Spring? What's the matter with the old one, did it break?
Me: -_-;;;

=D That's the good part of having a family who don't like or know anything about fantasy, and keep making fun of it... you have conversations like these. Good times. ^_^

So, what do you guys think of a pagan-ish theme for the OOC board around the time Bel Tine goes up? ;)

Which character do YOU associate with?

Descending the stairwell during work today, I realized one thing:

I associate the most with Moghedian. She manipulated through subtle misdirection, waiting until the proper time to strike, and unless she had the upper hand, never in the open. Rather than be stunned by this epiphany, I found it an interesting subject to ponder and now I pose it to you.

What character of the WoT series do you seem most like from your perspective, and why?

And be honest. I was. =)

Greetings, y'all... Think it's my first post here, either that, or my memory's as bad as I think...

Just wondered, and maybe you guys could help me? Or, maybe just compalining a tiny bit *hehe* But, twice I've seen Rion's name used for others chars, only NPC's but still. Not that it matters, really, it's only confusing seeing my char's name in other's posts when I know he's not supposed to be there... Oh well, doesn't matter...

Just saying hey, really... *toddles off*
