Okay, this could hardly be more vague, but I'm at a loss for a more specific description. I'm looking for a short, dramatic piece of modern-style dramatic music, which I've seen used in a number of unrelated contexts, often involving cool-looking people walking in slow motion; I've also heard it used in some radio spots. It's sort of "action" sounding, with a rapid, funky beat, a driving, repetitious rhythm guitar in back, and probably the most distinctive element, a three-note sequence on the cadence, which might be sort of D-F-A or similar in tonal structure, and seems to consist of high-end horns (possibly synthesised). It might have originally been from some movie, in which case I'd expect it to be from something like Men in Black or similar -- dramatic, cool, but not so serious.

Edit: "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" by Tomoyasu Hotei

First, there’s a book I’m trying to remember the name of. I read it in middle school, so it was probably the very early 90’s—but likely published before that. It involved a mask that someone puts on one Halloween--and it won't come off. And it takes over their body until a certain point in the story, when they're finally able to tear it off. At the end, I think someone finds it and thinks it would make a good mask, but I could be confusing it with another story.

And the second thing: I have a question, and it’s likely a long shot. I had to try, though. Does anyone know who this is? I’ve seen her on a few ads over on Yahoo, (and, of course, those icons) and thought she seemed very familiar. Maybe I've seen her in other stuff, I don't know.

I remember checking this book out of the school library in second grade.

It was a book of short 'horror' strories (I put horror on quotes because I remember watching Happy Birthday to Me when I was 3 years old), and the only one I can remember is of a boy who was in love with a girl with a green ribbon tied around her neck. He kept asking why it was there, and she kept telling him he didn't want to know.

Finally at the end of the story, she takes it off, and her head falls off as well.

Anybody?? Please?

Okay, I can recall two Mickey Mouse short cartoons, but their titles escape me.

1 - It's Mickey's birthday and all the other characters (like Minnie, Goofy, Donald) have gathered at his house for the party. Goofy is in charge of making the cake, but, naturally, things do not go quite as plan and he muffs it up a bit. It's a rather old cartoon, probably around the 50s or 60s. Maybe even older than that.

2 - Mickey is shrunk to the size of an insect and gets stuck in his garden with spiders and worms and all eating his vegetables. He tries to chase them off, but him being so tiny, this does not go over well.

What are the names of these cartoons? Thanks in advance. =)

Okay, so there's this movie we were talking about at work today and none of us could remember what it was called.

Basically, it's this guy who goes around killing people and in the end it turns out to be this kid but then we find out that all the people were in his own mind.

Any help in finding this would be much appreciated. :)

Aha, it was Identity. Thank you very much!

You know the tune I'm talking about. Warner Bros. used it in a crapload of their cartoons, always in a scenario involving an assembly line or some other form of machinery.

It was also used in a recent Visa commercial. The guy's in line to get lunch, and everything's going rather clockwork-ish...orders being put up, sandwiches being flipped onto plates, people swiping their cards to pay for their meal...then he gets up there, pulls out a wad of cash to pay for his meal, and CRRNNNNNNNNCHHHHHRRRSHHHH!!! Everything comes to a screeching, crashing, messy-as-all-hell halt.

Does anyone have any clue what the name of that song is? Apparently so. It was "Powerhouse" by Raymond Scott. Thanks [info]starrose!

I can't for the life of me think of either of these movies, so hopefully you can help!

The first movie involved a girl who was raped in a house under construction and to keep her quiet one of the boys shoved some of the plastic hanging up onto her face (smart movie, I know) and killed her. I know that she scratched against the floor so hard that a fingernail came off. I think this was important to the plot? Anyway, the protagonist buys the house and the girl is haunting it so he goes off to find out who she is and what happened to her. I think the protagonist might have been Kevin Bacon, but don't quote me. Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about?

The second was from a while ago, so I don't remember a little bit of it. It involved turquoise and a giant monster that looked like it was made of rocks. There was also a screaming woman cowering from it in the corner, which I'm sure narrows it down.
