| [ADMIN] Repost Guidelines |
[May. 3rd, 2007|03:19 pm] |
If you want to repost an as-yet-unsolved book request, you can do so by following these guidelines:
1. Send an email to hadaverde [whatwasthatbook (at) hadaverde (dot) net] with REPOST in the subject line.
2. In the body of the message, put the following information:
- a brief (a few sentences) description of the book. - a link to the original post where you requested the book. If you've lost that information, you can look at a list of all the entries posted in October 2006 (for posts made in other months, just select the appropriate month from the menu at the top of that page), then search for your username. (Warning: page is slow to load!) Without the correct URL, your request will not be reposted.
Reposts won't be posted individually. Instead, several repost requests will be compiled into a single entry before they are posted to the community. As a result, your repost may not appear immediately -- please have patience!
If you want to repost multiple book requests, send a single email, but for each book include the information listed in part 2, above, including the URL for each request, even if it's the same URL for multiple books (i.e. you made a single post with six requests in it).
This is how your e-mail should look:
To: hadaverde From: your name/email Subject: REPOST
I am looking for a young adult novel I read in the 1990s. There was a boy in it who lived with his mean aunt and uncle, but then he found he was a wizard. I think there was a red-headed boy and owls were important to the plot.

I am also looking for a book about a cat. I think she ate ham or maybe tuna.

Repost requests will appear in the community in a single, clearly-labeled repost entry which includes links to each of the original posts, so if anyone recognizes the reposted books, they can reply to those original posts. This reposting process makes it much easier to differentiate between books which are requested on a recurring basis by different posters (and should therefore find their way into the FAQ), and those requests which are being posted multiple times by a single poster.
As always, questions are welcome via email or a comment below. |
