Our new school, constructed from 2003-2004, has two main buildings.

The Maroon building. The part of the old school they left. Currently contains (but not limited to):
- The Gymnasium
- The History and English wings
- Health classes and Art classes

The Gold building. This is the new building just recently constructed. It contains (but not limited to):
- Science classes, Language classes, Math classes, and Vocational Classes
- A massive library media center
- A Greenhouse
- A Planetarium
- Much, much more...
Between these two building are long "hallways," aptly named the "connectors." We currently have two connectors, one on each side of the school (pictures soon).

The WHS/VTHS LMC is open each school day from 7:15am to 2:45pm.
The new LMC is very, very extensive. It has around 36 student-accessible computers, a huge array of books, and a conference room. It has also has a secluded back area for projector presentations.

Planetarium
Our new school has its own, shiny planterium. Students will be able to watch a fabolous presention of the stars of any night of the year.

Technology
Weymouth High at this point in time is the most techonologically advanced school in the state of Massachusetts.
Besides having our own freakin' planetarium, we have:
- Hundreds upon hundreds of new computers. The computers are all connected on a network, and each student has his/her own username and password so they'll be able to access files on their personal drives from any computer in the school. Me like :).
- Flat-screen TVs in the hallways for before/after school and between-class viewing.
- Projecters on the ceiling in EVERY classroom connected to the computer in that classroom, allowing teacher presentions to be conducted very simply. These projecters even get cable TV! The projecters are also hooked up to a stereo AND a DVD/VCR player, meaning no more viewing frustration with small TVs.
- Smartboards in the classrooms of computer teachers. Smartboards are whiteboards that project the teacher's computer screen on it. But the amazing thing is that it's also a touchscreen, meaning touching the Smartboard while a computer image is displayed allows the person to actually control that computer with their fingers. Neat, huh? There's also "markers" (they have tips, but no ink) that allow you to digitally draw on the Smartboard. I need to steal one of these.
- WCAT. WCAT is our own news broadcast channel. Every morning the news is read by students from the WCAT room and broadcasted over a TV signal in the school, aptly named the WCAT channel. Every teacher can use their projector to let their students watch the announcements.
