11:46a I'm beginning to wonder if "antihero" is becoming a bit overused. I've seen it used to describe almost any kind of non-shiny protagonist, depending on who's talking. A term that can mean anything from "a paladin who smokes, swears, doesn't shave often, has Unworthy Thoughts, and lives in a fictional universe in which violence is always treated as somewhat morally questionable" to "a homicidal sociopath given a backstory, motivations, and a Sympathetic POV" seems like it could lead to all kinds of misunderstandings if people aren't careful to define their terms in discussions.

1:39p Probably the only post about politics I will make this election... ...and you will realize why I never post about politics! A long while back, I think I was still in elementary school, either that or Jr. High. Either way, Clinton was still president. Anyway, we were talking in history or government or something about elections, rights, whatever whatever. Our teacher mentioned that blacks got the right to vote way before women did, and we would probably have a black president way before we had a women president. And the thing is, I sort of wanted Hillary to win just to prove him wrong? But it looks like he totally, totally called it.

2:32p tv bites yesterday I did something stupid. I thought I'd take the kids to the retention pond by our house to look for birds and turtles. Mosquitos suck. (har har) I seem to only have two, but they are both more than two inches in diameter. Nice. We're considering getting rid of DirecTV. Instead we will up our Netflix plan. Even if we did 8-out, it would be cheaper than the DirecTV is per month. All we really watch on tv are kids shows and cartoons. This will mean watching new tv shows online when the new season starts up, but we'll save hundreds of dollars per year. I think it's worth it. current mood: content current music: nightmare before Christmas - making christmas

11:12a For the past week my first thought in the morning was "This isn't my bed, I'm not in Denver" it's weird, I'm weird. But today was the first day it didn't happen.
