So... What happened to IKON?

Ikon have postponed their European tour due to a hand injury sustained by one of the members of the band. They may be joining us early next year, so please friend us on myspace and we'll keep you up to date with that.

We were too excited about Solemn Novena coming down from Belfast to play their first London gig and we'd heard good things about Rhombus as a live act, so instead of canceling the event we found a replacement for Ikon.

Sins of the Flesh have accepted the invitation to join the line-up! Sins of the Flesh made a name for themselves in the early 90s with songs like "Torture" and "Eyes of a Suicide" and are back with a new (international) line-up and new tracks.

Pre-purchased Ikon tickets will be valid on the night, so do hang on to them. If you would prefer a refund please contact us before 1st September and we'll arrange something.

Otherwise, see you on Thursday September 11th!

LVG Monthly Social (Thurs) 'Skeletons: London's Buried Bones' and (Sat) Annual Picnic

This Thursday the LVG intend to take in the 'Skeletons: London's Buried Bones' at the Welcome Collection before retiring to our usual haunt for our monthly socials.

The Plan. Meet in the cafe of the Welcome Collection for 6 for a 6.30 start. The exhibition should take about an hour or more and then head over to The Plough (the upstairs function room is open from 7.00 p.m. for LVG Members and Guests). Exhibition is free and there will be people walking between the exhibition and the pub if anyone needs a guide.

Also this Saturday 16th August we have our annual picnic in Waterlow Park

The Thames Gothic Boat Party

Sailing this year from Blackfriars Millennium Pier at 8pm sharp, with pre-launch drinkies / get together at the curious and beautiful pub, The Blackfriar, opposite Blackfriar's station and starting from 6pm.

We sail again aboard the MV Sundance, one of the largest party boats on the Thames and featuring two dancefloor decks of music, with six of London's top goth and alternative DJs playing gothic rock, post punk, industrial and ebm. Additionally, there's a third, open sundeck for taking in the beauty of the Thames riverbanks illuminated at night.

Playing Mozart, Cherubini, Durufle and the Nephs at the bewildered locals... projecting bloody, fang'd seduction

And drinking beer (wines and spirits)...

Betty Ford Clinic is now closed. I and the rest of the organisers would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has ever...

And of course, and most of all, to everyone who came along as guests and made the night what it was.

Turnout on the last night particularly was great, and I would like to say thank you to everyone who came to support us one last time.

And the management of SEOne would like to thank you all for being the politest, and best behaved of any crowd they've had there. They were threatening to get a microphone and get all pubicly tearful towards the end, but I managed to stop them.

As to the future, we're not joking - we really ARE closing down, we're not just changing the name and starting up again next month. We might run an occasional one-off night, but if we do, it's not going to be until next year at the earliest.
