Summer Akamaru Jump/Jump Square Initial Lineup
Someone asked if we were going to be covering Akamaru Jump in this blog, so I decided to do an entry for it to see how people respond if they do.  Meanwhile, since they also revealed the new monthly series "Jump Square"'s initial lineup, I'm going to say a few things about that too.

Akamaru Jump Lineup
-A special manga and interview by Hirohiko Araki (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)..as set up by Dai Amon (Taizo Moteo Saga)
-Color page replicas from D.Gray-man
-Vongole Ring bodyseals (from Katekyo Hitman REBORN!)
-D.Gray-man and Gintama postcards

New one shots of note:
-Magical Girl Shigeharu (Dai Amon)
-Orochi 2 Go (Mikio Itou, last seen with "Nazo no Murasame-kun")
-kure-nai (a one-shot for a new series in Jump Square)

http://jump.shueisha.co.jp/akamaru/07summer/ (pics of the rest of the one shots can be found here)

Jump Square initial lineup:
-kure-nai
-DRAGONAUT -THE_RESONANCE- (stated as anime coming for it)
-TISTA
-A new series from the creators of "Kurohime" (Kurohime may possibly continue but it won't be in issue 1)
-Gag Manga Biyori
-Claymore
-3-Z Ginpatchi-sensei (this is the silly one-shots that are tied to Gintama..so my guess is this is just in the first issue)
-Luck Stealer (from Hajime Kazu, creator of "Mind Assasin")
-Tegami Bachi
-Embalming (The Another Tale of Frankenstein)
-Tales of Innocence
-Rosario & Vampire
-Paraman (can't read the whole thing but it looks like a gag series)
-the Morita/Obata teamup (which I think we confirmed as a one shot)
-A one-shot/series by the creator of "Hana Yori Dango"

Oh, and in honor of "three months before the launch", they are releasing a new Claymore book...looks like one of those easy compilations they've already done for One Piece and Naruto.

I wonder why Kurohime isn't continuing. It didn't end did it?

Basically the page showed another series "from the creators of Kurohime", so in my head that series' future is in doubt.

Made the changes. But the Kurohime author's story in issue 1 is something that is not Kurohime...so its still uncertain.

-Color stuff from D.Gray-man
Colour replicas, i.e., reprint of the colour pages from D.Gray

-Something regarding the Vongole Rings (from Katekyo Hitman REBORN!)
Vongola Rings Real Body Seal, i.e., stickers to paste on yourself, probably of the Vongola Rings designs.

Also, the AkaJump issue goes on sale 8/15

This names need correction:
Dragonaut: The resonance (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/DRAGONAUT-THE_RESONANCE-) (Based on an anime)
Gag Manga Biyori (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyagu_Manga_Biyori)

An also It looks like 3-Z Ginpatchi-sensei will be some kind of novel

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is very surprising considering it went to ultra jump but thank goodness it can still be recognized by the jump fans instead of being forgotten by non old fans . How popular was taizo because it had some merchandise too bad there was no anime maybe there will be like buso renkin .Rosario & Vampire has an anime too right ? Also Im pretty excited with embalming 3 years in the making with its 2 one shots kind of like kenshin .

I think Taizo lasted for about two years.

-Even if its moved, Araki's work will always be remembered as a WSJ series. (same with other authors who's works have continued on in another magazine one way or another: Yudetamago and Tsunomaru in Weekly Playboy for example)
-Stranger things have happened so a Taizo anime could still happen...but at this point I seriously doubt it. Usually series that last one year have a less shot of getting an anime even compared to a series that made it to close to two years like Buso Renkin.
-Rosario & Vampire = anime coming out in October...so its coming but its not here yet.
-As for Embalming: having not read it, the pic used looks slighlty different from the stuff Watsuki seemed to have in his one-shots. Where's that cute girl, for example?

The image of the new character in embalming looks very detailed and there seems to be something behind him these embalming characters and the RK kanzeban character designs look somewhat similar but still I cant wait I never read the one shots couldnt find scans . I have to wait till Buso renkin volume 10 releases in english before I can read the one shot also do you think the oneshots will be reprinted in the embaling volumes. Im still wondering if beet does come out of hiatus will it be in jump2 or online like kurohime.

It seems it will continue online making chapters month by month normally while people can read it online . I think this is mainly because the company want to make manga avalible online or on cellphones because even though manga is still popular in japan the people who walk around reading and picking up manga just dont pick up as many because people are using cellphones and wasting time like that . Kurohime will still probably still be printed in volume format . A del rey rep at comic con said this about manga as well . Also the decline in manga magazine sales while manga volumes are still high as usual.

I hate when people move their stuff to digital format no matter their origin. There so many things one can do online that you can't think about reading a manga or watching a show or whatever else is out there. I rather just have it in a reliable format.

Its pretty ironic that most people in the us read manga online with manga scans and we fans read online frequently . I really dont mind reading online but officially getting it seems theres this whole process same if your buying an anime online like viz media and death note . I just dont like using credit cards or go through such things who does . I think people in japan are going through a phase about reading manga since DB ended in japan there was a huge decline in manga thats restoring itself no manga like DB has been able to restore and lead the manga industry again OP has moved SJ sales but compared to what Slam dunk YYH and DB did for the magazine its not that great.

Everyone is trying to get the stuff out there, but in something like web content, there is so much crap out there in content that why should someone watch or read the same things that you could in another means like a book or a DVD? I pretty much avoid DLing anime less because of availabilty or illegalness...and more because I have other things to do with my time. If it was on TV, it would be a lot easier to arrange my schedule to tape it and then watch it compared to just having it sit on a website...with a possibility it would dissapear or that you'll never get to it cause of other web content.

Yes, I do admit to reading some manga online (won't say the means), but I just like the feel of having a comic book in my hands than squinting around on a monitor ruining my eyes.

Yeah... the Embalming characters and the Kanzenban redesigns have obviously influenced each other, which is no surprise as they were created around the same time, more or less.
Someone over at [info]watsuki has noted that the new guy looks a little like the Enishi redesign, and I do agree.

I do wonder if the oneshots will be reprinted in the tankoubon... the first one has already been included in BR10, but the second one hasn't been published anywhere outside Jump the Revolution, so it'd be really nice to get this one in a handy format... and on a related note, I wonder whether the oneshots and the series will tie into each other and be part of the same universe. Mysteries upon mysteries!

Actually being the resident Gintama-maniac, i felt like i should mention that Ginpachi-sensei will actually be serialized in Jump Square. Now as a manga or a novel....i don't know.

comipress love us.

Ginpachi sensei is in novel form apparently, though it may just be a one off.

Also worthy of note is the new series replacing Kurohime still has no name, but the first image has surfaced, of a redhaired dude in lotsa leathers.

looks cool.

and parman is by fujiko.... im bad with names. doraemon man. so it could be good. ive gotta get over my retarded art side of manga love though to give it a chance. which i now desperately want to
