AboutI'm on a mission. I have watched very few movies in my life, and I would like to remedy the situation. With the help of my friends and members of communities on LiveJournal, I have compiled a large list of recommended movies. I used The Internet Movie Database to order the list by rating, and am prepared to watch each movie on the list.
My goal is to watch at least two movies per week (although I must admit I am doing poorly at this because I'm also working on a Ph.D.). I may watch more if I have free time to move this along faster. I divided the list in half, and am starting in the middle. I will start with mediocrity and work my way toward the best and worst movies simultaneously. There were a few recommendations that fell even lower than the lowest on my list, but I limited myself to go no lower than a rating of 5.0 -- very sorry if your recommendation didn't make it onto my list for that reason.
I am aware that new movies will probably come out in the time that I am doing this that will also need seeing. Chances are I'll just see them on my own. They will not be added to the list, so don't bug me about it, however I will make a post about them as a "non-list movie" because I'd love to hear your opinions about those movies as well.
Also, I am aware that the ratings of the movies now will probably change in this time as well. The movie on top may not be on top by the time I get to it . People's opinions fluctuate. I know this, don't try to convince me to change the order of my list. I spent a very long time looking up all these movies and putting them in order, and I refuse to spend more time reorganizing it. The order stays.

I will post the next two movies I will be watching here in this journal, so if you are interested in watching them as well, you may. When one movies is watched, I will leave comments about it in the journal and then add the next movie in the list. Feel free to leave any comments of your own that you wish to about the movie, whether negative or positive. PLEASE refrain from bashing other people's opinions, however. You may express your negative feeling toward the movie, but do not flame another person for liking a badly rated movie, or one which you hated.
