Davids Bridal Alteration Advice
I got this wedding dress from David's Bridal last month.

dress on the model
dress on me

I was so lucky they had the petite size 8 available for me, it fit me pretty well, I pretty much just need it hemmed and possibly taken in slightly in the bust. I have been working out but just tae bo at home so I don't expect to lose a TON of weight (I don't really feel like I need to, I just want to be in shape). I am also having them put the sleeves on the dress (in the picture of me I have one of the sleeves on one shoulder) but that shouldn't be too big of a deal because the girl said they snap on.

my problem is, I am in Los Angeles, my wedding is going to be in New York on December 20th. The earliest I can be in New York at my parents is December 10th.

SO when I bought the dress the girl said that they could have the dress shipped for me, and that they do a bead check and steam, and that the David's Bridal in New York could do it for me since I was hesitant about doing it here before shipping it. How early should I have them send it? I pretty much need to do all my alterations here, but I don't think I'm going to need anything big or drastic... I have no idea how I should time all of this and I getting a little nervous about it all.

I just need advice/recommendations on if I should get the dress altered now and ship it to new york, if you think I'll have time for one more alteration after its in new york just in case I do lose a bit of weight and if davids bridal is a good idea to get the alterations done at or if anyone knows of a cheap/good place that is in LA

thanks!

Beautiful dress! Although I may be a little biased tho because it's my dress too ^_~

I would get it altered now. My wedding is at the end of November and I took it in to get hemmed and such at the end of September... And it won't be ready till mid/end October... I'd definatly do it sooner rather than later, especially since you can do last minute alerations if need be. :)

I'm going in today to pick out my undergarments, and then as soon as I can finish paying it off (its still on layaway) I'm going to get it tailored.

since you have the same dress maybe you can give some undergarment advice, did you get a slip to wear under it? I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to get

No slip, but I do have this corset-thing... It's basically a corset with a strapless bra... It pushes me up and pulls me in, haha. But other then that, I didn't think it needed a slip. :)
