RSVP Wording Question and Faux Fur Boleros!
Two completely unrelated questions:
1. I'm about 90% sure that I will word my RSVP card in this way -
The favor of a reply is requested
on or before January 17, 2009.
We have reserved ____ seats in your honor.
Name(s) _________________________________
Number of guests attending ____
The very last line is there in case only one member of a couple can make it, or if a single friend will not bring a guest (I'm giving all single people a +1). I figure people would know that if no one can come, they'd write in the number zero there and send it back. I noticed a friend of mine who got married recently had their RSVP cards like this, and it looked a lot neater.
So, as a guest, if you got an RSVP card like this, would you know to send it back with the number zero on the last line if you weren't attending? Or would you just assume, "Hey, there's no part to check off if we're not attending, so we won't send it back and they'll figure out that we're not coming based on that"? I already have what I think is a lot of text on the RSVP card and this is a nice way to cut down on the text, but if you think it's necessary to have "Will attend" and "Will not attend" checkmark lines, I'd love to hear your feedback either way!
2. After my random near-panic attack about having a winter wedding as I described here, I'm feeling much better about the decision today. :) Anyway I'm shopping around for a cute faux fur long-sleeved bolero jacket to wear when I'm outside and found some photos...
Originally I just assumed I'd get an ivory one like this one:

But then I found some other ones from the seller that were different colors. My wedding colors are red and white/ivory with black accents. Here's a pretty black one:

And even a red one:

And here is me in my dress, for reference (bad lighting, I know):
The ivory one obviously has a classic, romantic look to it to go together with my ivory dress. It would make everything look uniform since I don't plan to have any splash of color elsewhere in my ensemble. But then I thought maybe the black one would add some mystique and elegance to my ensemble and to photos. And then the red one would definitely make a bold statement! My only concern about the red one is that it looks more "fiery red" than claret, which is the shade my girls are wearing, but I guess no one would notice that. And oh, I'm afraid the red one might look a tad gaudy too, and just not go well with my otherwise classic-bride look.
What do you fine ladies think?
