Pink Peau de Soie and Black Lace: Our Gothy Wedding Photos!
FINALLY! The photos from our Dec. 14 pink and black themed wedding are here! I've left out many of the ceremony and formal family shots because most of you probably wouldn't be interested, but hopefully you enjoy these -- I'm so happy with how everything turned out.
Where we got married/held reception: The Old Medical College, built in 1828, in Augusta, Ga.
The wedding makeup, I did it myself and was trying to go for a somewhat dramatic look since it was an evening wedding.
Adjusting my hat (with my mom in the background), I was so nervous at this point because I was already running late and was having all sorts of dress/corset drama.
Also adjusting my hat, but I really love this shot, I didn't even realize the photographer was taking it.
A close-up of my bouquet of pink roses, lilies, ranunculus, and peony.
Sean outside with his groomsmen just before the wedding.
I love this shot of my mother being seated.
Sean looking very intense (scared) just before I come down the aisle.
The ceremony.
Kiss the bride!
My mom during the recessional, I included this because it's one of the only shots that gives some idea of how the food layout looked -- I wish we had gotten better shots, it looked awesome.
My flowergirl and her dad, who was our officiant, during the recessional.
The formal wedding party shot.
The requisite couple shot.
Me and my bridesmaids on the stairs of the building.
Tighter shot of me and my bridesmaids, Vogue-ing it up.
My husband, Sean, and me on the stairs of the Old Medical College. Some of you may recall me posting my drawing of the pale pink gown, which I designed, and had made by Starkers.com -- this is how it turned out!
Sean and I, separated on the stairs.
Sean kneeling before me -- for the first time in 8.5 years, it was about time!
A not-so-stolen neck kiss.
The bagpiper heralds our grand entrance.
And we are quickly swallowed by the reception chaos.
But others seemed to be having a pretty laid-back time.
At least until it came time to cut the yummy pink bat cake! The cake maker was awesome enough to make it look EXACTLY like my cake design drawing. And the chocolate and raspberry interior was mighty tasty, too.
(cake cutting).
Sharing a toast!
A large part of the evening consisted of me having my flowergirl and her friend attached to my dress, but I was powerless to resist their cuteness.
But I did get away long enough to have the first dance with my husband. We hadn't practiced and felt like jackasses, but people raved about how "well-choreographed" it was. Hmmm.
But, before we left for the friends-only afterparty, I made sure to give my flowergirl a kiss on the head.
