The Bridal Shower.. Fun.. but stressful!
My bridal shower was yesterday. It was SOO much fun, and my GOD it was stressful.. I had NO IDEA how to open presents! I felt like an IDIOT, i didnt register, so some of the stuff i got was so cute and thoughtful, but other things that i got i had NO IDEA what they were. For instance, I got a set of pans and i said "Wow, what nice baking pans, and OOH LOOK, a pan with a LID! I've never seen one of those" and EVERYONE laughed at me!

I also had NO TIME to say hi to everyone and thank everyone. I mean, my most FAVORITE aunt came and left without me every saying HI or GOOD BYE to her. I HATE that and i regret not running straight over there. How in the WORLD to I make that up to her? I LOVE her so much, and she has always given me such inspiration. I guess I will just have to give her a call or something.

On another note, my mom made me cry. She was so cute and sentimental and she has NEVER been that way. She did SO Much for me that day. Along with setting up the whole thing, she made a scrap book (layed out every page) she sewed my garders, the ring bearer pillow, AND made this amazingly cute little gift "hamper."  What she did was she got a little love story online that had words in it like ZEST, ALL, and SPICandSPAN and each little item in there was numbered and while she read the story, she would come to the word and point at me and i pulled out the item and it was the next word! I guess it is really hard to explain, but it was SOO cute, and it was ALL stuff i could use! She also got a beach bag with two towels, two pairs of flip flops, and some other beach stuff for when we go on our honeymoon! She went WAAYYY above and beyond and I just have no idea how to thank her..

Is there some kind of tradition or something to do for the mother of the bride?? should i get her some kind of thankyou gift or something?? She has just done so much! Maybe i'll write her a letter.

That sounds really cute!

For your Aunt...the way you describe her here is really sweet. Maybe you should tell her that in a thank you note!

Well, in our ceremony my fiance and I will be doing the tradition of giving roses to our mothers after the kiss of peace (it's a Catholic ceremony). I don't see why you couldn't incorporate giving flowers to your moms at some point in your ceremony regardless of what kind of ceremony it is. :)

That does sound like a neat idea. We are not having a religious ceremony, but i know that both of our mothers would definitely appreciate the flowers and recognition..

I was thinking of getting some jewlery, but my mom wears only her basic jewlery - no more, and no less. So that was out of the question.. HMMM...

We'll be presenting both of our mothers with roses just after the ceremony but before we recess down the aisle.

My mom was a huge part of my shower last Saturday - I gave her a hostess gift along with my other three hostesses, and made sure to pick out an extra special thank you gift for the wedding.
