Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble accessing the archives and/or forum? It seems to have been going up and down for about the past two hours now....

Although we had a promising start, there have been absolutely NO submissions to the fan fic archive since the first couple of days. I have done my best to spread the word here and there, but I think now may be the time for us all to continue to remind people that we are here.

Also, was there ever any update on speaking with the guys and gals over at the robinhoodfic LJ community to see if some type of affiliate arrangement might be workable?

Although I am nine days late (all right, ALMOST ten, but I got it in before midnight, so that means that it is still only nine days!), the forum is now up and open for business.

MOST of the bugs have been worked through, but I am sure things will come up in the first few days. We have two LOVELY skins (one dark green, one dark blue) to chose from...

I have posted this announcement at the Robin Hood BBCA LJ, but could someone do the same at the Robin Hood BBC journal?

Have just added a new skin, could y'all please test and see if that one work's better than the other one? Personally I'm liking this one better, seems more user-friendly to me....

Also the Portal is all but done, just have to fiddle around with the Cutenews comments template and add the Site page and it's done. Maybe we should have a little Staff page up there?

We now have a forum! Huzzah! We now have a forum with a name -- The Robin Hood Fan Forum (original, I know)... huzzah, again!

Which brings me to my next minor request... I know we have a couple of individuals here who are much better than I. I would like to get a special graphic header for the forum that is unique to that part of the site, but I am knee deep in coding right now for the forum customization process. To that end, iIf anyone feels like taking pity on me and feels like they might want to tackle the request, respond here and I will shoot you an email. And, if no one takes pity on me, that's okay too... I've know problem breaking out Adobe PS, but as I am working to go live on 3/1... anything I don't have to do graphicswise makes it easier for me to spend that time elsewhere.

I've started rewatching Robin Hood from the beginning again today and it's made me even more fired up to get our site up and running asap!

How's that for a starter layout for the main site?

Shall I add an imagemap or simply put the menu next to the content in a table? The latter is the most simple, especially because it can be easily edited once we're getting more sections up and running.

The sidemenu, what shall we put in there? Affiliates, Site stats, Quick links, Featured Fanvid/fic/fanart... etc?

On a personal note, I'll be moving countries (from Holland to England :D) this upcoming saturday and it may be a while before I'll have internet again. I'll be checking in regularly via internetcafés though!

For those of you who may (or may not) have been poking around the fan fic pages, you may have noticed the addition of various information to finish out the content needed to get the archive to a point where it will be user friendly and ready to accept submissions based primarily on the feedback from our earlier posts at this LJ. With the exception of one page which is not quite finished yet (and I'll be coding it at some point tonight) and the need to proofread for errors (I've caught several, but I am sure there are still some there), I will have done just about everything I can see that needs to be done for the archive that *I* can do.

Hello! I'm collecting links for the, er, Links section and I wanted to pick everyone's brains about this. The categories I have so far are:

General Web Sites Related to the BBC Production
Character/Actor Web Sites

So...two. But also should I collect links for general Robin Hood legend sites? And for personal sites by those that helped to set up wearerobinhood.com? Any other ideas? We'll also need an affiliates section.

The other thing I wanted to get everyone's ideas on was depth. For this section should I be collecting every single link I can concerning each category OR picking the best/most informative sites? Personally I think that picking the best sites for each category would be better because if I was looking for, say, Jonas Armstrong sites I would hope our site had some good links for them, which I could use. Then I would use the site I found through ours to find further JA sites. But then if we're supposed to be an archive then maybe we should be archiving every link we can? What are everyone's thoughts?

I hope that made sense because I have a tendency not to!

I'm quite new to the fandom and of course I'm absolutely in love with it. I just discovered this community and I wanted to offer my help. I know a little bit of HTML and I'm even willing to translate the website content into Spanish if you think it's a good idea to have a bilingual (don't know if this is the right word) site, lol. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and if I can help in anything, please tell!

I'm rubbish at the actual proper internet stuff but I'm great at spelling and I really want to pitch in, so if you want a 'good english monitor' to get rid of any clanging spelling things what might turn up, or anything else a good speller can be put to use for, I'm game.

Bloody efanfic... I can see what you mean about its touchiness. I don't think I've ever met one this finicky. I finally gave up and had to go into the code to get the link of the FAQ to load properly. I also had to upload the ratings information three times before it took.

I also created the Ratings Explanation Guide. Everyone take a look at let me know what you all think.

Going through the ratings system, I did come up with a list of issues that I don't think we've discussed all that much but that need to be touched upon before I proceed....

Hey all :) *waves* I've been put in charge of setting up the fan art archive so I thought I better open the field to discussion before I install anything. We're going with a Coppermine gallery to archive all of the art and icons. So here's a little planning of the categories and feel free to add anything in that you might feel that we need: (the ones with * beside them are a maybe as I don't know if we have any yet)

Another question I wanted to raise was about other content on the fanart archive page. Obviously we will need to explain what we're about, how to submit artwork, an updates page, links to the actual gallery, a list of artist websites etc. Any ideas on other kinds of content?

Have successfully installed Efiction, the layout of course needs to be changed but that's a worry for later.

¤ First of, how shall we categorise things? I was thinking having the stories sorted by fic length; One Shot, Drabbles, Multi-chaptered... and then subcategorise them by Pairing? Or should the main categories be Het, Slash, Multi-pairing and Gen? There's several options, so please put in your two cents!

¤ Which ratingssystem shall we use?

¤ Who'd like to be an admin? Would be best if we had several, so that the archive can updated at all times!

¤ Submission rules?
