Having had two interesting conversations, Mel leaves the following note in the office:

Jane Austin was attacked in the library by something which left 2 teethmarks on her neck & bloodloss. She had no memory of the account but I'd like someone to talk to her first hand anyway.

Prob a lurk. Keep yr eyes out for similar incidents.

Do we have a list of all vampires in the Bar? Carlisle's ruled out his lot.

The problem with feeling better is that then there's nothing much to do. Feeling like crap at least keeps your mind occupied, if only in bad ways. But it's been nearly two weeks since the surgery and almost a week of cooling his heels in his familiar little box. He's more or less back to his old self and is now dying for something to do.

He's had to resort to reading. Baby, who seems to have much the same sense of humour as Bar, has provided the third and fourth Harry Potter books.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. He's halfway through the first of them, sitting cross-legged on his bunk and smoking like a chimney.

    Ramon Salazar
After Kim's life-saving techniques and Bones' surgery (plus a few days to heal up and become mobile), X escorts Ramon to the cells and deposits him inside.

There is a certain level of care involved, but not a lot of patience. After making sure he has his immediate needs met, X writes up the requisite reports and departs for less irritating climes.

    She will be back.

Ramon has been transferred from the infirmary to the cells to serve out his sentence.

Ramon Salazar, two weeks for attempted murder (three counts)
Before going home (or upstairs) to change out of her torn and bloody clothing, but after dropping Ramon off in the infirmary, X leaves a note pinned to the board in the office.

Ramon Salazar shot Kate Barlow and a second man, Doc, in the stables. They vanished, I do not know if they made it to Colorado. Ramon fled into the forest. I followed him. He shot me multiple times, and I incapacitated him in order to prevent further injury. He is in the infirmary now, I do not know when he will be well enough to leave.

Part of Alanna's plan to spend more time in Milliways involves catching up on paperwork: reading files, responding to notes, writing her own reports. To that end, she has formed three stacks on the desk and located pens and paper. Efficient, right?

At the moment, however, she's staring blankly at the bulletin board, legs crossed on the desk, as she leans back in her chair and absently switches the desk lamp on and off.

Ramon Salazar, 2 days in lieu of dishwashing
X escorts Ramon into the cell, then leaves a note for the rest of Security.

Ramon Salazar has been put in the cells for two days because he hit Kate Warner and would have killed Bill Pardy. He refused to follow the offered sentence of one week of dishwashing. And he was turned into a tree. But he is human now.

    -- X-23

And, because Ramon was just recently a tree, she heads back to the bar proper and picks up the rest of his bottle of tequila. And a sandwich.

Sometimes people deserve comforts. (Or maybe 'deserve' is not the right word.)

Ramon and Kate Barlow, 1 week of dishwashing
X leaves a note in the office.

Kate Barlow reported that she shot at Ramon outside, and that he later attacked Kate Warner and Bill Pardy on separate occasions, hurting Bill badly before Demeter turned him into a tree. Kate will serve one week washing dishes for shooting Ramon, even though he shot first. Ramon will also serve one week washing dishes once he is human again. I will also talk to Demeter about reporting incidents in the future.

Sameth, 2 days for unprovoked violence
X leads Sameth to one of the cells, then ushers him inside.

Once he is settled comfortably, she writes up the report and leaves a note for the rest of Security.

Sameth is in the cells for two days for an unprovoked attack against Blodwen Rowlands. It is the same fight which resulted in a hole in the floor of the Bar. I do not think he will attack her again. I do not know if she will attack him once he is released. It will be good to watch them both.

    -- X-23

And once that is done she will settle into a nearby chair. Sameth does not seem like he is up for being alone.

Rem, GBH on a minor, 12 days.
Shufti shows Rem into one of the cells, then writes a note.

Rem is in the cell for twelve days for GBH to a minor, Light Yagami. The boy looks to be badly injured and is in the infirmary, but I do not think he will die.
The motivation for the assault appears to be crimes that the boy has not yet committed, which is Outside Business as well as assault.

She did not come quietly. It may take someone more powerful to subdue her should she decide to attack him again.

    S M-J

"Baby will provide you with food." she says, rather coldly, for she doesn't like people who attack children, whatever the reason.

    Cameron, for murder. Sentence undefined.
After depositing Cameron's body in the cells, taking John's statement, and bringing him (and Elle) up-to-date on West's murder, X leaves a note for the rest of Security.

Cameron killed West. She is a robot. She was behaving strangely when I went to arrest her, and attempts to subdue her with a taser were ineffective. Elle helped at my request.

John removed her malfunctioning chip and will repair it.

I do not know what her sentence should be, or if she will be able and willing to answer questions once her chip is restored.

    --X-23

P.S. Cameron's brother has requested Cameron being a robot not be disseminated to the bar at large. I do not know if this is feasible, but it is important to know.

[ooc: John Baum/Connor (Cameron's 'brother') would have requested the robot information remain confined to Security members. TL says if it's OOC for your pup not to mention it, then by all means they can, but please ping her at TLvop when that becomes an issue. Thanks!]

Castiel, 2 days for unprovoked attack
X ushers Castiel into an empty cell, then takes Verity's statement.

Some time later she finishes her own report and posts a note.

Castiel is in the cell for two days for an unprovoked attack on Verity. She does not have lasting injuries. I have explained again that he is not allowed to attack demons here. If he does it again he should be expelled. Like Ramon. But I think he will stop now.

    Val von Doom. Twenty-four hours.
"All righty," says Belar, leading the way into the cells. They're all pretty generic and pretty plain-looking, and there's nary a bar in sight. Gotta love force fields. "Baby is sentient, so you can call for assistance if the need arises. Someone'll check you out in twenty-four hours, okay?"

Report on West's Murder: The Scene of the Crime
X has been spending a few hours every day compiling the results of her tracking efforts on the day of West's murder and beyond, and she finally deposits her finalized version, annotated and organized, in the Security office.

Precision is something she is very good at.

A brief highlighted version of her report is as follows:

West traveled from the bar to the greenhouse prior to his death, then spent some time wandering outside before he died. He died in approximately the location where the body was found.

There were no discontinuities in his path. He probably did not try to fly.

There were several sets of tracks near where the body was found -- hoofprints, giant heavy canine pawmarks, two sets of smaller paw-prints (one was very small), and six sets of human footprints. There was a set of boot-prints, deeper and heavier than the shoe size would suggest they should be, with heavy treads. There were two sets of sneaker tracks, one significantly smaller than the other. There were a great many very small footprints, overlapping and traveling in a line. The other tracks in the area belonged to West, Claire (when she found the body) and Mary (when she also found the body).

There was nothing in the trees except his arm.

She leaves the short list on top of her compiled report. Just in case people are impatient.

Mel is still trailing blood from an open wound on her neck as she enters the office, but she's pressing gauze to it and she's sure she's going to heal just fine. She doesn't need the infirmary, right?

    Right

The note on the desk reads:

    Mel Fray: Fighting in bar.

And a cell contains a Slayer, rather worse for wear, sleeping off the effects of massive blood loss.

She just hopes Mike doesn't come looking for her.

The Security office is usually locked when there's no one inside. When it's locked, a pad of paper and a pen are attached to the door, as well as a large envelope for finished notes.

When it's not locked, a member of Security can usually be found inside. Sometimes it's even Alanna. When it is, chances are that both the office door and the door across the hall are wide open.

Sometime last night, after this, this and this, Alanna and X clear off the notice board in the security office and get to work.

They leave the following for the rest of security:

    - A description of the evening's events, starting with Claire's account.
    - A description of the body, injuries listed in detail by X, and the murder scene.
    - An envelope containing photos and digital memory cards (with many more photos), pinned to the board.
    - Plastic bags containing the knife and the cupcake, locked in the file cabinet.
    - A list of suspects, drawn from their discussions with patrons and the scents X identified, with room for additions (see below)
    - Alanna's list of what they feel needs to happen, including questions that need answers. "Need stronger wards to protect scene of the crime" is underlined.

A copy of everything except the photos and physical evidence is left with Bar for Mike, with one additional question: What and how much do you want us to say to the patrons? We need to ask for anyone with information to come forward.

Bar is also instructed to let security members know they need to check the office board.

All information contained within can be found here and here.

    Cell thread: Stitch
"Nice try," says Belar conversationally as they both blink into the cells, with Stitch on one side of the force barrier and Belar on the other. "But I've got your number. Twenty-four hours, dude."

    Cell thread: Barbossa and Gibbs
"Okay," says Belar, marching the two men in. "One cell for each of you, twenty-four hours' time. There's no bars, but the force field will keep you from getting out until your release date. Ignore the gorilla in the diver's helmet down at the end of the row, he lives here. Try not to get yourselves thrown in here again, okay? I hate the paperwork."

It's been a long damned time since he was last locked up someplace.

He doesn't like it now anymore than he did then.

And what pisses him off is that he's pretty sure those assholes will keep Jason alive.

What pisses him off more is that he almost feels sorry for the werewolf.

    Almost.
