1:10 am [fallen_april]	HIATUS Okay, here's the sitch: Early Wednesday morning, I'm going to be getting on a Greyhound bus headed towards Manhattan. Saturday lunchtime, I'll have arrived in Manhattan with all my worldly possessions in three small dufflebags. Yes, folks, I'm moving. And unlike my move to Cali (that a lot of people probably didn't know about. XD) back in October, I don't have a computer and internet waiting for me. I'm going to be crashing on couches for a few weeks until I've paid back the debt I owe on the overdraft of my bank account and then have enough to get a room somewhere. SO. That means that I won't be tagging very often, if at all, for a couple of months. So here's the status on my pups: April Cornwell (fallen_april will still be in the bar. Obviously. I give godding powers to Ven (cheevy-mun), Jenna (sonofwhitecity-mun), and Quin (bohemian_mark-mun). I trust them to take good care of her while I'm gone, and to keep me updated on what they say she's doing. ;) I'd like everyone to know that it could be quite a while until I'm on regularly again - but if anyone needs to thread with April or Suzanne, just shoot me an email and we'll work it out, even if we have to slowtime to hell and back to do it. I love you all - Godding powers go into effect on 3:00 am EST on Wednesday and will continue for however long it needs to go on. X-posted to ways_back_room (Comment on this)

"Hey, guys, it's Aubrey (allfireburns, Danny Tripp's mun), and Evie is kindly posting this for me. In the next app period, I'm going to be apping two characters. One is Gordon. That... probably won't be a problem for any of you. The other is Gordon's twin brother Luther, also known as The Man. And I realize he may cause a bit of disturbance among the Rent characters. Anyone who thinks him being about might be breaky for your character, I'll be glad to keep him far away from those characters (assuming, you know, that you're not looking for breaky). Some of the characters are probably going to want to kick the shit of him, and I am completely up for abuse, within a few limits. Any concerns you have about Luther's presence in the bar... Now would be the time to bring them up. And hi, by the way. *Waves*" Just as an addendum - the fact that Gordon and Luther are twins comes... mostly from the fact that Luther is based on The Man as played by Luther Creek on Broadway (aren't we creative with names?), and so Luther (Creek) also plays Gordon. Also it's sort of from a fic-verse the two of us write in, though that won't be entirely brought over due to differences in certain already in-play characters (namely April). Also, I may be apping the random cute homeless girl that the girl who plays Mark's mom and everyone in the stage show plays... random as hell, but she's just so CUUUUTE... >.> I fail. Benjamin Coffin the third. *is ever-so-excited, in the way that I'm totally not* He won't leave. So I'm trying to get things together to actually let him come in the bar. However: I need some things from you all. I have ideas as to his backstory, but I need confirmation/denial. First and foremost, I think he's positive. Val, this is where I need you. "Three months ago", according to LVB, Benny and Mimi were together. I have this vague feeling that she was positive at the time, perhaps without knowing it, and Benny, being the confident bastard that he was, didn't even think about the possiblity. Also, what/when/how much were they together in canon? Also, what happened around New Year between them? I have ideas, which I'll e-mail you later, but yeah. Second, what happened in the Loft? How close was he to people, how'd he end up there? I've vaguely said that he was at Brown at about the same time as Mark, graduating when Mark was a Sophomore and moving to NY, starting (and only just finishing not long ago) an MBA. However, what was the Collins-Benny relationship like? Aly, any ideas? If I don't really feel comfortable with his backstory, can't figure it out, I really don't want to bring him in. I'm not doing this to kick his ass. In fact, what I am doing is trying to give him a chance to explain himself. No, I'm not expecting people to agree with him, or accepting him with open arms, but I think he deserves a chance to explain. Right. So that's where I stand right now. 4:32 pm [bohemian_mark]	Ploooooot. Rent-style. Hay guys. I just wanted to get a count of who's in for some of the things that're going to be coming up. First, there's the film premiere on (or around, due to my schedule) the 18th of November. I'd actually perhaps like someone to NPC a reporterchick in an entrances thread, if anyone's interested. Otherwise, all canon characters and NPCs will be there, and some people from the bar. More details about that as the time comes. Second, the Chris Grey Smackdown. Who's with me on that one? I'd kinda like that to be somewhere around the polymorph plot so Mark'll actually take a swing at the idiot. But that can be moved. So... late November on that one. Ideas for this? I... don't really have anything in mind yet. Suggestions are love. Third, Oscars in early March. More to come. Fourth, Moving Pictures plot co-inciding with Oscars. Again, more to come. Fifth, Wedding! Late March. More details when I know them. Oh! Second-and-a-half. There will be Christmas/New Year's parties in the Building. Again, everyone's invited. I'd like to have hugeparty threads for one or both of those. I was thinking that the Christmas party could be a costume party, so anyone could come from the bar, no matter what their canon is. Anyway! Plot's coming. And plz let me know what you're in for. And who you're in with. And, if you have ideas/suggestions/snide remarks, you know where to find me. :) ETA: Guys, if you have a TFY NPC (or want one), plz comment with their name/what they do. I'm making up a chart. 11:44 am [bohemian_mark]	And the winner is..... Alright, guys. I so meant to put this up way before this, but stupid supposedly-real-life threw me a couple knuckleballs to the face. Anyway! I want to have the Oscars happen sometime in the next week or so. Because I'm late for Real Time as it is. So, basically, I'm posting to see who's all in on this, and when might be the best way to do it. I had the idea of doing it rather like a party post, One main post, and then for each nomination/award, and then reactions/speeches/whatever. If we do it that way, we could have it up-and-locked soon, so everyone can join in. Also. Mark's going to be throwing the bar a party afterwards. I'd -love- to see a La Vie Boheme style dancing-on-tables and song finally. That would need people around, so please, weigh in and let me know when is good. Anyway, I'd really love to see this happen, as it's, well, huge, and awesome, and characters get to dress up really fancy. 9:56 am [bohemian_mark]	Christmas bells are ringing... Christmas bells are ringing! Well, it's almost that time of year. Christams. And, well, really, what canon does Christmas better than Rent? I can't think of any. We also have here, all of the trappings for a Life Cafe-esque night. Wine and Beer, crazy people who dance on tables... what more could you ask for? Thus: Mark is going to throw a Christmas party for the bar. Because he is a geek, and I am a silly, there is going to be some time where Mark jumps up on a table and attempts to re-create La Vie Boheme. I think it would be awesome if people joined him. Thus, there are a few things which should be discussed. 1. One of my ideas for this was to do it in a long Milli-timed thread. (the performance onna tables at the very least) and then unlock/post it at the right time. Ideas? Would that work, or would it just be better to do real-time on that. 2. Who wants in? Mark would invite everyone, not just the Rent crew. Would anyone else like to be in on the songage? 3. Any other ideas that I'm missing? The entire thing will be massively slowtimed due to RL parties and issues and the fact that I'll be at church for most of Christmas. So? Questions, comments, snide remarks? 12:18 am [mitanarchist]	Okay...so I had this dream that I was on While You Were Out and they built me a restaurant. It was a restaurant in Santa Fe... There was a private booth in the corner, much like was alrady described and the wall was plastered with various newpaper headlines that had to do with AIDS. The whole color scheme is red, black, and white. There is a bar in the back, decorated like Maureen's protest. The TVs are around there and the moon. The lamps hang over each table in all of their modern glory and are red in color. There are also two private rooms...one's plaque says "Life Support" and the other "Life Cafe". So let's begin with "Life Support" This private room is relatively simple and used for parties. On each wall is four pictures, each picture depicting the real life inspiration for the characters in Life Support. Steve, Gordon, Sue, Ali, Pam, Paul, Angel, and Collins. In Angel's place....is a photo of Jonathan Larson. On the back wall...is the affirmation: There's only us There's only this Forget regret Or life is yours to miss No other road No other way No day but today. "Life Cafe" The name gives it away. This room is decorated like the Life Cafe, with its own stocked bar. Tables can be brought together or separated if we ever feel the need for a large dance number. Plenty of seating to be had by all. The whole first week had the cast, crew, and other celebs working for tips for charity and the Fab Five planned the opening party. (I still think we should do something like the tips for charity thing even if not as an opening) Things were just so wonderful but what topped it off was this... On top of the restaurant was a studio apartment... ...exactly like Mark, Roger, and Collins'. So any opinions? Do you like this description? (2 Comments |Comment on this)

2:12 pm [fenderfrontman]	*sighs deeply* Okay. Here's the deal. Seeing the RENT movie woke up my Roger headvoice in a big, big way. Allowances for thesis work grad school applications end-of-year crunch blah blah blee aside, I'm 98% sure I'm going to haul him out of retirement in the next few days. And yes, when I do, he'll be post-canon. But he is not going to be from the same world as Mark, Angel, and any other RENT pups that've been established as being from Mark and Angel's world. The direction I want to take Roger is extremely different from where Mark and Angel have gone in the last few months. Even before I saw the movie, I've been struggling to think of ways to mesh their Millicanon with Roger's -- and I kept coming up empty. I'm sorry. I know worldsplits are irritating, especially when I said back in July that Roger's return wouldn't involve any more weird and wacky canonmeshing problems, but it's the only way I can think of that'd let me play him with any sort of comfort. I'm also most likely going to retcon Roger as living in moviecanon time (i.e. late 80s/early 90s), both to clarify the worldsplit distinction and make the issues with his HIV infection more realistic. 2:59 pm [minkhollow]	stuff and things! First off: A summary of Markplot is forthcoming. Not entirely sure when it'll be going up, since the plot's suddenly grown a bit more than it was going to be; might end up posting what's been done so far and summarising the rest as it happens. To that end (the 'plot has grown' one, that is), Quin suggested this morning that the lot of us have an AIM chat one of these nights. Or possibly mornings, I guess - it'd depend on when most of us are around. I can be around pretty much any time that's not a Friday, really. (And Sefina?
