There's a note left for Malcolm Crowe at the bar right now.

A lot of us talk about how some characters are missing accurate information in their userinfos. God knows I'm guilty of this, so here is what I propose:

Post the entire text of your pup's userinfo in a comment. Do not just post a link, please. Others can come and comment with questions they would have or things they know about that pup that they would look for in the userinfo, and that could give you the information you're looking for to edit back into your pup's userinfo.

Dumb idea? Maybe. But at least all of you guys will help me with mine. :D!

Okay, I'm sure by now some of you are going, "What on earth is with the rash of vampire shenanigans in the bar?" For your edification:

The set up
A Gothic Winter Tale
Please read this all the way through to the end to get an idea of what I have in mind.

The sign upPlease pick a category.
I am still very much open to sign ups with the understanding that threads will be playing out into January.  If you're interested in investigating, please check out this thread and threadhop to talk to your other investigators. And if I haven't tagged you back in this list, please be patient as I am trying to use each of your pups to the best possible effect for the plot.  I promise I will get to everyone eventually.

The ongoing plotMaster List
This is more for my edification, and for you to see what threads are active and which are complete.

And as always, I'm Flynn.  I'm underwoodnofive @ AIM and I'm pingable most of the day.  I promise I don't bite. (I make no promises for the pup.)

Apologies to everyone threading with Mel, but I'm falling over with a head cold. Will pick up threads tomorrow!

I need your OOC input, if you could be so kind.

Did everyone survive the snowpocalypse?

21 December 2009 @ 11:16 am

There is a note at the bar for Jane Austen, Kate Bishop, Joan Holloway, Bela Talbot, Nita Callahan, and anyone else I've missed who has:

a) told Security they've been bitten by a vampire
b) been treated by Guppy or Carlisle in the infirmary for a vampire-like bite.

I'm in and out all day, but that post stays open until Mel gets a new one.

Sunday is over where I am, and there is no Sunday self pimp post yet! How is that possible?

So, bring out your shiny and show it to the world! (Or at least the part of it that reads the Milliways Backroom).

Five years ago today, I posted two lines to my mun journal:

*stares at clock in disbelief*
Wow. [info]milliways_bar really is like pure, undiluted crack.

Oh, if only I knew.

*SQUISHES THE LOT OF YOU* Thanks for an amazing (and amazingly fun) five years, guys. It's been a blast, and I still ain't planning on leaving any time soon. <3

Happy hour is up!

19 December 2009 @ 06:47 pm
I'm sure with new apps and suches for the past few months and all that good stuff that this is long overdue. And I said I'd keep up with it so I am. So if your pup needs a room in BAR then comment here.

Leave the muse's full name (or first and last since it's less confusing for me) and their room number and I will gladly add them to the list. Thank you! :-)

This was a struggle--my inner Skadi had a question she really wanted to ask, and on account of the snowy weather here, she is being exceptionally loud and pushy. But my inner Sqrl does not want to think about cold weather; he's happy curled up on the couch and eating hot foods.

So! Your pup is going to be stranded alone on a tropical island, and can bring one (and only one) article of clothing with them. What do they bring? A pair of shoes would count as a single article of clothing for these purposes; an inflatable raft is not clothing; shoe phones will not get reception on the island; and Batman's walking-arsenal outfit is only an option if your pup is, in fact, Batman.

Alternately: My dad is a big scifi/fantasy fan, and he is looking for audiobook recommendations, since he travels so often. He's looking for recent-ish things if possible, from the last ten years or so. As far as recent stuff he likes Neil Gaiman and John Scalzi, recently listened to The Name of the Wind and Snow Crash and liked both of them, and has Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell next on his list. Anybody got recommendations? He's willing to give anything a try. Things you know are in audiobook form are good; if you don't know if they're out in audiobook, recommend them anyway, and he can check them out. Thanks in advance! ^_^

At home on my Friday off, trying to get my act together to go to Boston, so I'm bringing you a story.

DE is late up today because I took my car in for an oil change. I get along well with the guys who work there and we have a running joke about bringing in donuts for them. So I finally did, and Mike was so excited! We joked around and whatnot until my car was ready, and he said he had a present for me.

:O I say, and he hands me a little snowman with a santa hat on. "I'm supposed to give this to customers who buy four tires, but you brought me donuts. They're like...little tires."

It was so cute and beyond the fact that I really want to ask him to go to the movies with me (because I'm a lonely person sometimes and he seems funny? SO AWKWARD SEND HELP) I was really feeling the good karma, y'know?

Thought I'd share. :)

For me, anyway. Because I was dumb and forgot that I'm driving home after school today and thus couldn't take an evening Happy Hour. So to make up for it, this thing is open until it isn't Friday anymore, got it? I have a few hours before class, but after that it's slowtime until possibly tonight but more likely tomorrow afternoon.

Find your fun over here!

Bartending with the resident Piemaker can be found right here. Sorry for the slight delay in keeping time.

Join in and order a drink! Get to know your fellow bar-patrons. Threadhopping is most definitely encouraged!

I'll be around for as long as my wrist can carry me and my brains are in tact. ;)

ETA: Annnd I'm off to bed now. Slowtimes, please! And thank you all for tagging!

Milliways! I am all a-flutter with accomplishment! With my day of working at home yesterday, I finished all my projects for the end of the semester! \o/! What have you finished lately? Be it slowtimes or projects or whatever!

Hey, guys, LJ is doing a promotion: Ten dollars off a year of paid time IF you don't already have a paid account.

I know a bunch of us own not only personal paid accounts but also ones for RP, and some others might like to pick up some cheap paid time for some of their own pups (or themselves), so I thought I'd set up a post for people to offer to give or to ask for coupons. I've got sixteen to give right now, and I doubt my flist is going to take all of them.

16 December 2009 @ 10:39 pm
Happy Hour is to be found here, cats and kittens.

Jump in! Tag! Threadhop! Have your pup drink too much Atlantean! Have them flirt outrageously and remember nothing in the morning!

...the mun apologizes for her exuberance. <3 Possibly it's because she just finished the last project of the Semester That Kicked Her Ass. Freeeeedoooooom!!! (and no, that's not "Free Doom," though she's totally up for that too. <33)

16 December 2009 @ 09:23 pm
Oi, guys, I'm having a totally awful night, and I will admit it: I haven't read anything bar-related for the last couple of days. *presents wrists for slapping* I am currently struggling to write a 5-minute public speech of sorts (that I have to deliver tomorrow, haaaa), and in need of some cheering.

SO! I am afraid I leave this week's Wednesday shout-outs/pimps up to you. Be inspired by my icon of Hiro! What have you read lately that just totally rocked your world? What made you want to shout "YATTA!" at the top of your lungs (or "BONZAI," or "YOSH," or [insert your exclamation in language of choice here])? SAM THE AMERICAN EAGLE WANTS YOU FOR THIS SHOUT-OUT POST!

I will give you a nickel if you find me something fluffy. :D?

PS. FINISHED SLOWTIMES! GIVE THEM TO ME! *steeples fingers*
