I went for a long time without making icons at all... and then made a couple like in July here and there... and then made all THE KIDDIE icons tonight. And... I finally discovered how to save my icons so that they're of an appropriate size for LJ without being super desaturated. (Honestly if you compare my PSDs to the "finished products" I've posted in the past, they look totally different and I used to try to compensate by adding another soft light layer, but--TL;DR, the icons in THE KIDDIE section look exactly the way I wanted them to. More or less.)

O-oh god how long has it been since I made icons. /(´Д`)\ A-anyway. Small batch this time, because I have a lot of pictures to go through. And some of these (like... more than half of the SuG icons) are as old as time itself, so... yeah some of them suck and I think you can tell which are the old ones. (´ω`；)

The bulk of these were made this morning between midnight and 4:30 am. |D *hardcore* I've been experimenting a lot with Curves and Selective Color and I really like most of these... and I went back into my neglected folder and pulled out some other subjects I've been meaning to icon! albel has joined the ranks! There will be an icon post from her later tonight, or so she tells me. The batch I was working on got delayed by school, so... I don't know, but it'll be big.

This is a more useful, comprehensive tutorial, because I got all the right values while I was making the original icon (speaking of which, expect an icon dump in the near future). I mostly just wanted to remember how I did this. 8D;; Featuring Teruki of An Cafe!

I did this in Photoshop CS2, but it should be transferrable.

I'm not dead, after all! Sorry, I haven't had much time for graphics, lately... :< So here's a relatively small batch--I need to do homework, but I didn't want to wait another month to finish a batch and go through all the An Cafe pictures that have been building up since January. Additionally, I've gone back and numbered each post to make it easier on my Photobucket.

In this batch, I experimented with some new blending and curve techniques... Let me tell you, they all look better before Save For Web desaturates them. D: I need to learn how to work around that with this style, because some of these came out rather too red or just plain bland... I'll do my best. >_<)b
