| 1) PLAY NICE Don't gratuitously flame, spam, or rant against fellow members. Not everybody is meant to get along, and feel free to agree to disagree, but we is happy family, yes? Don't stir the pot just for the sake of it. There are other places meant for that sort of wank. 2) FICS When you post fics in this community, include the following form at the top (or something similar in format): CTRL + A to select all CTRL + C to copy CTRL + V to paste in HTML mode ...and then, obviously, the story. o.O And on that note... 3) POST ALL STORIES BEHIND AN LJ-CUT Even the drabbles. The LJ-cut rule also goes for large graphics, icon posts of more than five (5), and any other post over 800~ words. No-one likes a spammy friends page...and fake lj-cuts are perfectly fine, so long as the post you're linking to is unlocked. No-one should have to friend you just to read fic or look at art. If you're that paranoid, keep it locked inside the comm itself. Also, please try and refrain from posting more than two (2) fics per post, for ease of archival purposes. AS OF 16.08.08 PLEASE LOCK ALL R/NC-17 RATED POSTS. 4) BE RELATIVELY LITERATE We're not asking for Shakespeare (in fact, then we wouldn't be able to understand you at all), but we just want to understand what you're saying. We understand English is not everybody's mother tongue, but save the chatspeak for IM convos. Format your stories appropriately. Double-space your paragraphs. If you're a crap speller but a good ficcer, ask for a beta-reader. (A list of beta-readers can be found HERE.) 5) TAGS We have a simple tagging system enforced, all the details of which can be found HERE. If in doubt, leave it out. If you forget a rule, a mod shall prod you gently with their modstick and remind you of it. Repeat offenders will cop a wallop over the head. Repeat-repeat offenders will be banned. |
