I found this on another LJ community, and was wondering if anyone else heard of this.

Shoppers who visit their local Wal-Mart Supercenter from noon to 5 p.m. on May 18 will get a free ice cream sundae with their favorite toppings. Flavors and toppings include: Blue Bunny Premium Tracks, Breyers Chocolate Crackle, Edy's Loaded Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, Smucker's Triple Berry Sauce, Reddi-Wip Original, and Keebler Sandies Cookies.

From that article, I think it might be the ones in Tennessee or wherever they are writing that from.

I just googled this, and it is in over 2000 stores. i havent heard anything either. Will ask today

I am googling around for the original news release, but I am getting different sources (some RSS'ed from others). Some do say 15 Walmarts, but I have also seen some say all Walmarts in the US.

However, walmart.com and walmartstores.com say nothing about this. I get the feeling someone started a prank and it got out of control.

In a forum I found, someone said "where are customers supposed to get it??? the deli section... cuz i'm pretty sure there's no full service ice cream section" How true :P Plus, who's gonna get volunteered to scoop all that ice cream?? Or maybe just pass out those little single serving cups that come with little plastic or wooden spoons (well, more like wooden slabs).

May explain part of the big load of ICe Cream we have had going out... I work at a Wal-Mart food D.C.

I don't think my store advert for this. We did have our usual demo lady passing out small scoops of blue bunny with syrup and cookies but nothing big or out of the ordinary.

that was the "free sundae". We had a differant demo company come in and do ours, and our regular demo people got in a huge fight with them...

When It was Sundae day sunday i didnt know until i had to check the Vendor in at CS, so no i didnt know before that but oh ya i put my favorite sundae is Hot fudge

Ours was done by the demo ladies. They had about three or four different kinds of ice cream and all the toppings. They also had some cookies to go with it. Didn't have any but it sure looked good!!!
