Cashiers-- too numerous to count
CSMs- maybe 1
Customer service--maybe 1
Greeters--none( we have had the same greeters for 30 years I think) remember I tried to give them away last week!
Cart Pushers- every other day

csms-0
customer serivce-1 but he's still there but in vision center
greeters-1,still there but as a cashier
cart pusher-2,1 got fired,1 was transfered to hardware

I know this wasn't on your list but at my store unloader wise:1 went to a dept.mgr, one quit,1 is like never there, and I'm getting ready to go back to the floor so 4 unloaders are gone but I have to wait 2 weeks before I can go back out to the floor so they can get people.

All I know is our overall turnover, which is 61.54. Seems insanely high, no?

Seems about average, to be honest. My old store, which I transferred from in August 2006, had a turnover goal of 70%. My current one has a turnover goal of 50%.

cashiers - not too sure how many but i think a lot
CSMs - 3 i think..1 got demoted to cashier, 1 went to college out of state, and the last one...i dunno where he went
customer service - 1 moved to photo lab
cart pushers - suprisingly, none have left. one guy has been there for years and there are 3 other cart pushers that have been there quite a while

depends on yr definition of "leave"....as in no longer @ Walmart or just not in those positions.

i'll lump them together to make it easier. :)

cashiers ~ a dozen (half leave/find other jobs, half switch out to other depts)

CSMs ~ only had one leave and she took over dept 82 because the old dept 82 mgr was forced to retire for medical reasons.

service desk ~ only one has actually left...she got a job elsewhere. the others seem to rotate in and out switching w us @ front end.

greeters ~ one retired (he was 81!), two left for medical reasons (i.e. their doctors forced them to quit). if not for that, at least one of the latter two would still be w us. we've since acquired three more (one of whom is a lazy ass and should be gotten rid of, IMNSHO).

code 10s ~ constantly. about two thirds don't work, the other third end up moving on to other depts because they don't want to be a code 10 forever. we just had one recently move up to foods out of code tenning and he's very happy there and a hard worker.

if we can't operate without cashiers or cart pushers,do you think higher pay would help?

I think Cashiers and Cart pushers are under- appricated, if there were none the stores would be making zip
