calmHere's the deal: Your Santas are trying to make your holidays SUPER FANTASTIC, and to do that....sometimes they need a little help. If there's a question for you here, just comment with a response, and Santa'll make sure to make the necessary adjustments ;). Questions, like everything else, will be tagged with your username, so if you ever want to make sure you didn't miss anything, it'll be quite easy. Just a few notes if you plan on making any:
If you're sending graphics, you can send them either as an attachment, or just send me the link. I upload all of them to a different account, so it doesn't matter if they're on your server--you recipient won't see that. If you could include the recipient's name somewhere in the filename, it would help, but if you can't, no worries.
As for fic, I'd prefer it if you could send it in a text file. If it's going to need any LJ-formatting--a cut, bold, italics, whatever--it'd help me immensely if you included that in the file.
For anything not fic or graphic related, like a video, or fanmix, or whatever, upload it to a service (such as www.yousendit.com) and send the link along.

Sign-ups are now officially closed (although, FINE, if someone signed up before I matched assignments, it would still be TOTALLY OKAY). I'm very pleased to announce that, despite the show being off our screens for these past few years, we're still at over thirty particpants for the exchange this year. That? NOT BAD. NOT BAD AT ALL. Thank you all for being here! :)
While I'd love to get all of the assignments sent out TODAY, that might not (quite) happen. I'm running *three* Santa communities this year, all on the same timeline, so it'll take me some time to get all of the matching done. Expect an E-mail from me sometime within the next day or two, though. Giftwise, all you need to do is try your best to fulfill some/all/random parts of their request. Then, between December 24 and January 1, everyone will post their final gifts and reveal their identities to the recipient. Simple, right? If you are unable to post within that time frame, it's not a problem. Just E-mail me the gift (and when you prefer I put it up), and I'll post it on your behalf.
If any of you are feeling overly ambitious, though, some people have made "teaser" gifts. These are smaller than the final gift--an icon or two here, a drabble or short fic there--that are given BEFORE the final reveal. Meaning, to maintain your Santalike anonymity, these gifts should be E-mailed to me at vm.santa@gmail.com so I can put them up. You are by no means required to make anything other than the final gift, but if the holiday spirit hits you and you feel like going above and beyond, there's no limit to your creativity. And, let's face it, presents are fun, and extra presents are extra fun, so there is no bad in this situation.
Next item: Beta readers. There is going to be a LOT of fic written here. While some of you may have a regular beta, I know many people don't. If you'd be willing to be available for beta help to anyone in this community who writes a fic, PLEASE comment in my next post with an E-mail address beta-needers can reach you at, and any list of stipulations or limitations on what you'll beta (I'll beta L/V ONLY, no NC-17, no het, whatever). If we want to be VERY specific, I've always wanted a V/W video to "Call and Answer" by the Barenaked Ladies. One thing I don't want is anything Logan/Veronica. I love Logan as a character (at least jackass-Logan), but I do not ship them at all.
What I can do: I can write fic. I can also do icons, banners, or a fanmix. Mood theme probably, too.
What I absolutely CAN'T do: Can't write LoVe. Just can't do it. I also don't have a powerful enough computer to do vids.

Things I'd like: Fic, please! Specifically, Mac/Dick...It's been a while since I've seen anything about them. I tend to like the more angsty than humorous or whatever (they're not a very humorous pairing after all). Something I'd also like to see that I meant to make myself for a very long time, and never got around to, and don't think my computer could handle any more, a Veronica/Duncan video (complimentary, shippy please) set to Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" (the long version, if it doesn't break your brain, lol!) Or, a Veronica/Weevil piece where they actually get together, set either some time during the series, or total AU. (In other words, not future fic, if you don't mind.)
What I can do: I write! I've written most characters in this fandom at some point, but most often has been Veronica/Weevil, some Veronica/Leo, and I love Veronica/Duncan, and have been feeling them quite a bit lately, so if anyone asks, I can handle it. I love Lilly, and Mac/Dick as well.

Fic is the ultimate resort, if nothing else works :-) I ship Logan/Veronica, Lamb/Veronica, and sometimes Leo/Veronica. I'm all for angst and drama, but with a somewhat indulgent end.
What I can do: I can write. My ships are those I mentioned above, but they're not necessarily the only ones. I can throw Lily in, shipped with Weevil, and I can ship Weevil/Veronica as well, need it be. I can also write Mac if you ask me nicely ;-)

What I absolutely CAN'T do: Logan-Veronica (Sorry, I just... can't), Lamb-Veronica or Wallace-Veronica fics, can't do favids or icons. I'm not very good at slash.
What I can do: Veronica-Mac friendship fics, Mystery-of-the-week fics (you set the time frame), request-specific mysteries (the more restrictions you put on me, the better), Veronica-Piz friendship and Veronica-Piz ship. Hello, everyone!
There are only a few days left to sign-up forvm_santa! This is just a brief reminder to let you know that there is STILL time. Time for what, you ask? Time to post your wishlists, if you've been watching and waiting. Time to get your friends to sign up. Time to modify a list you already posted. There are OPTIONS, people!

Things I'd like: 1.) Any LoVe art would be much appreciated! I'm not picky about the scenes or anything, just as long as it's a semi "happy" themed art! *Note- I am a sucker for the "Epic" scene, so please feel free to make super angsty art for that scene if you'd like!
2.) LoVe fanfic post S3 where they have worked things out and art back together!
3.) Animated & non-animated icons of the "Epic" scene.
4.) Animated &/OR non-animated icons of the "Annoy tiny blond one, annoy like the wind." scene.
5.) Veronica/Duncan art from their scene in 1x21 "A trip to the dentist" where she confronts him about sleeping with her. I'm a huge LoVe fan, but DuVe were really cute and this scene is beyond amazing! {If you could include some of these lines, that would be even better!: "I tried to just cut you out of my life. I loved you! I tried not to, I tried not to, but it won't go away!"
What I can do: I can do banners, icons & headers. And i think i can manage a Veronica fanmix and a LoVe fanmix. Ooh and a Dick fanmix!

Things I'd like: Fic is at the top of my list, especially LoVe fic, preferably with a happy or hopeful ending, I particularly like post-season 3 fics; I also love Mac/Weevil fics. I only read Veronica with someone other than Logan if it is smut - I have a particular kink for dirty, dirty Veronica/Lamb smut, but would not turn my nose up at Veronica/Weevil smut, or Logan/Weevil or Weevil/Veronica/Logan smut. I am not a fan of Duncan or femslash. I have no icons and my journal is bare, although I confess that if someone made me a mood theme I would be clueless as to how to apply it to my journal. I am technically inept.
