After the Premieres show at vividcon there will be a glorious Karaoke Show! For those who haven't been to vividcon the idea is simple, vidfans sing along to vids! While this may to some sound like the most stressful thing ever it's actually very relaxed and everyone has fun :)

So, can you think of a vid you'd like to perform? Then take up the mic and show us what you've got because now is your chance. The show is open to vidders and non-vidders alike, all are welcome. The show will take place after Premieres on Saturday night in the main vid room and will last until 11.

Regular karaoke is generally organised by having people sign up at the event but we need to do a little more forward planning as we have to subtitle the videos for use. Also, given the limited time we have and how many people we got signing up last year we will probably have to let people in on a first come first served basis. This means if you think you want to sing at the con then you should sign up here asap. I will make a list of the vids people want and I will let you know (once I've totted up the times and worked out priorities) whether you are in the show. Priority will be given to people who havent done this before and vidders who want to perform their own vids will get priority for that particular vid. It is unlikely that we will have two of the same song performed but we'll judge this case-by-case.

We often have a lot of groups singing, which is good in general but be warned that large groups are tricky to fit around the mics. Twos and threes work best.

This year I think there might be a little less time (a lot of Premieres, see) so I'm going to open the slots at 15 vids and then see on a maybe basis beyond that.

If you sign up to do a song in advance then the vid will be karaoke subtitled for you. If there is room in the show we may or may not also subtitle a number of other videos for general consumption.

Quick tip: Please try not to choose vids with really long lyricless introductions or long instrumental sections. That drags the show out a bit and it's not much fun standing at the front of the main room being stared at before the song kicks in.

To sign up for the karaoke show, either reply to this thread or send an email to us (vvctech at gmail dot com ) with the subject "Karaoke Signup" and including the following info:

• Your name as per Vividcon registration (and the names of any others taking part)
• The vid you'd like to sing (please list song and vidder so we get the right version)
• Where we can find the vid (if has been shown at vvc, tell us when and where)
• Your second choice vid if the first is unavailable or already taken

In general, the deadline is as long as this signup post is open for comments. So sign up!
