The ideal Victorian lady was a shy violet, modest and beautiful. But some of these flowers had voices, and their whispers can still be heard today. Here is a place to talk about authoresses from the Victorian and Edwardian eras (in Britain but also abroad), books about womens' lives,thoughts and feelings in those days, and fascinating fictional females (from the pens of both men and women) between 1840 and 1920.
