I still am not sure that it a girl. I have put her in with the girls but I have seen a lot of old photos of boys in dresses and some of them are done up like girls. I just think this one is a girl.

I once read a tip that said with a young frilly-dressed child, a side part in the hair signified a boy, and a center part signified a girl. What no part means is a mystery!

well... I saw here today so much photos of dead people so I will not be impressed much if I see little boys dressed like girls and vice versa! :-) but still it is a kinda mistery for me... I mean why did they do this - picture their relatives dead and make them look like alive and dress their children and make strange haircuts and so on... but at least I'm glad that if to take into consideration that fact that each one of us nowadays spend so much time on internet there are still so many things that can surprise us... and those things are history....
all the photos in this community are great, I adore them all! :-)

I just posted a postmortem shot from my collection. I know they seem strange to us these says but this was when photography was new and people really wanted a way to remember there loved ones.

Where did you find all this pics!? The first one is really cool, I don't know why her dress makes me think in sleepy hollow end ... perhaps the stripes :-)
