It has it's ups and downs. :) Believe me. There are times when I want Ginger Rogers hair and it just isn't going to happen! LOL

I so need to try this! I am afraid of centre partings and I'm not sure why!

I have my crappy tutorial that posted in vintage_hair a while back...should I post it here?

Normally I don't like center parts either, but this one is simple. :)

Yes, please post it! (Not that it was crappy, but you know. :)

Gorgeous! Your tutorials are great! All I want are my bangs to grow out so I can do more vintage styles properly. Faster, faster!!!

Thank you. Thank you very much. :) Just becareful how long you grow your bangs out. My hair is all one length and it does make acheieving certain styles hard as opposed to me having layers. :) A tip for faster growing hair and nails. Prenatal pills. They are over the counter and you don't have to be pg to take them.

I agree. :) I hope mine are simple. :) I am a horrible teacher and when I just "know how" to do something, I have a hard time translating that into directions. :-/

Thanks! My hair is damaged as well! I seem to be able to do more with it when it is a bit straw-y then when it is at it's best. LOL Let us know how it works for you.

I love how you write out the tutorials, and how descriptive you are with the steps. I've never used those types of rods, though I'm really interested in trying it. I haven't really seen a picture of how they were used and how it turned out; I am really intrigued to try them out now. Your hair looks great, as usual. :D

Hehehe I try, but I always feel like I am leaving someting out. LOL

Note that the ones I use are heated and not just regular pillow rods. You should try it sometime. :)

Thanks!

I'm so glad you re-posted this. This was the ONE tutorial I almost cried about when vintage_hair closed down. Especially since the day it shut down, I finally had time to buy the perm rods and then didn't have your lovely picture to look at for reference.

I AM HAPPY AGAIN! (It looks like we both have an insane amount of hair, so I'm hopeful that this will turn out well. How long did you set it or recommend for someone with equally thick hair? Setting lotion? And...I can't find the squishy perm rods but they had the bendable long tubes with rubber on them...think that would work or are you afraid?)

Hehehe Well I am glad I reposted it too then! :)

If I remember correctly, I didn't use any kind of setting lotion for this tutorial. My pillow curlers are heated so I just had them set for a couple of hours until they cooled. I would suggest for the rods you got, to use a slight spritz of setting lotion and set for an hour or two. Checking it along the way to make sure it doesn't curl in too tightly.

ok i have a question, i saw this before, tried to find curlers like the ones you used, but had a hard time. so where did you find those? they seem perfect and all the ones i could find were really small and i have thiiiick hair.

I got mine at alta. Also, mine are heated, so they come in a case that has metal plates and a plug. If I remember correctly (It's been a while) I found them by the hair dryers, curling irons, and other heated hair thingies.
