Current music:bikini kill - statement of vindication

installment number i've lost count
oh dear.

my favorite kind of misogyny is the subtle kind.

oh yeah, and...uhh..stuff. specifically.

i wonder how many natiive americans did a spit take to seeing this one.

unless you've got a snow vagina, lady, i'll have to politely disagree.

probably the best marlboro ad ever.

it's the crazy dance that swept the nation - do the twirling robot!

wrong on every level!

if a bird swallowed a glass, he would NOT look that pleased. guiness or not.

such a weird display of sexism. blow some smoke in her face! she loves her eyes to tear up, while stale cherry flavored clouds hover over her head!

skinny mummies are so hot right now.

annie oakley would sooner shoot a bottle of canada dry than drink it, advertisers. you're fooling yourselves!

no more pig intestines, sally sue! yay!

this image set off a rash of severe prescription addictions in the baby boomer set, all of whom now own valium gumball machines.

...i can't stop looking at this.

i suspect ads like this are part of the reason why so many kids have died drinking bleach and rat poison. it must be running rampant in japan, where it's impossible not to find something with a cute glassy eyed face.

Those are great. I especially like the overly-smoked baby. I'm actually old enough to remember that checkered cat in magazines.

is it from the 70s? looks to be but i'm still wondering. i'm lucky enough to have had a mother who during her life obsessively collected knitting and good housekeeping magazines shortly before i was born, so probably if i went back to her house and rummaged through a closet for five minutes i'd be looking at checkers the cat.

Note that the featured article in 'The Dance' is by Ted Shawn, Ruth St. Denis' husband.

Ohh MAN, I had several of those Jet Rockets when I was a kid. They were annoying because they shot so high, they'd always fall into someone else's yard. And you had to go over and knock on their door. And sometimes they wouldn't get it for you, just because they were total asses.

Thanks for posting these! They put a smile on my face, first thing in the morning. Also, they put a spring in my step, a snap in my shorts, more whiteness in my smile, and--oddly enough--they cured my cat's bad breath.

May I ask where this ad is from and what it is advertising? I really like it, and would like to know more about whoever created it.

Thank you.

something like 90 percent of hot dogs sold since the 60s are skinless. they're cooked in thin plastic wrappers which are later removed, which i guess is a whole lot more efficient than manually stuffing them into sheep intestine

Why exactly is the woman and Is that siding Misogynistic? I'm just curious, because I don't see that at all. I thought maybe there is something about the advertisement itself which leads you to feel this way.

you don't think a man blowing smoke in a woman's face, suggesting that women like</> being degraded by having smoke blown in their faces, is misogyny???
