About
Welcome to LiveJournal's first community dedicated to Makoto Yukimura's historical viking manga, Vinland Saga. The story, set in the early 11th century, follows a young Norse boy named Thorfinn as he is thrust from his idyllic family life into the midst of the Norse invasion of England. He is a soldier under a cunning and manipulative man named Askeladd--the man who murdered his father. Thorfinn becomes consumed by his obsession with killing Askeladd in an honorable duel to avenge his father's death. His journey, however, takes him through many twists and turns, and he crosses paths with a number of unique characters, from the carefree yet deadly warrior Thorkell to Prince Canute, one of the two heirs to the Norse throne.
This community is an open forum to discuss the manga. Feel free to bring up any topic pertaining to Vinland Saga or even the source material/historic aspects. Posting fanworks is highly encouraged! just be sure to credit if it is not yours.
