Make a GJ journal for your char. Request memberships to these communities and I'll get right on it. I'll be adding a couple of memories to cvrp_ooc for handy references, like a friend add list (because manual is only fun during driving and sex), a small pre-game timeline, and maybe a leaping off point (that post is subject to change as people from the LJ comm catch up and are added over at GJ).

| Okay guys, looks like we had a big response and there's lots of love left for CVRP.
No one protested GJ, and most of our base characters seem to be ready and raring to go. I'd really like to get this started ASAP because I'm leaving this weekend for Portland. I'd like to set up the communities and all, but I fear I'm being pushy and taking over.
Julie, I don't want to step on your toes. I need an honest answer as to how far I can go with all this getting things started and kept going thing. You know my weirdness about being bossy, and yet I do it anyway...*shifty eyes* I AM MAR INCARNATE. But I know you're busy, and it'd be great if we could just launch and hammer out some more definite plot...er...things later, because Brix's point about us going down a similar path was a great one.
I also want everyone to know I have no delusions of grandeur. I don't consider myself a decision maker by any means of right, just default sometimes. :D Please, please speak up if my setting up GJ comms and info pages will really piss anyone off. They can always be tweaked later.
I'm...going to go do that now...like...right now, and then pretend I didn't if anyone pummels me. :D

SO, if I'm way over stepping my bounds, ignore me, honest.
Long and short of it, I'm way ready to start this game up again. Now, the question is, how will we go about doing that? And who's coming with us?
Personally, I would like to start from scratch. I think a long enough period of time has lapsed from any active play that it would be easier and more fun to begin again. I think that RPs naturally run their course, and after awhile, there just aren't many places to go. This would also help since we've lost some key characters and filling new players in is difficult when there's so much history on which to catch up. This will also give us the opportunity to re-evaluate what characters we play, and prioritize the characters we kept up with. Please don't keep a character just for nostalgia's sake. Seriously analyze if you'll be able to continue with him/her.
I've enjoyed so many of the plots we've done that I'd love to do them again, and the second time through, they'd run even more smoothly. Plus, we could weed out things that just didn't work. The skeleton for the webpage is still available and I'll keep it updated bi-weekly on plot points and current events.
This "starting over" allows for both ends of the spectrum. If you really loved what you did in the past, you can keep it and do it again. If you didn't like where your characters ended up, you can change things. We can also incorporate a few things from the new canon, if we like.
However, if there is an overwhelming desire to just keep going, I suppose we can just start up again, yeah? I'd like to see things with Marcus and Zach, and Ginny and Neville pan out, but I'd rather see it all over again. Does that make sense?
Anyway, comment, you guys and give me your thoughts. This is just an opportunity to get ideas out there. I miss Harry. And I miss the characterization of everyones characters. Seriously, they're more canon to me now than the books.
Also, if we start over, we can always just start in real time with the opening of the University for applications for Winter Quarter, or maybe Spring Quarter and summer projects. That way we could have people coming in from wherever they lived in the time between the destruction of Hogwarts and the rebuilding.
In short, comment with:
01. if you're still interested in playing, and which characters you would like to keep
02. which characters you'd like to take up if someone gets rid of theirs
03. what parts of new canon (Books 5 and 6) you'd like to include
04. if you'd like to start over or find some way of continuing on with what we have
05. a current AIM SN
Edit: What do we think of switching over to GJ? Anyone with strong feelings against it? I know I used to hate GJ for inexplicable reasons, so I'd completely understand. But I kind of like it now for RPing purposes.

| So here's something Dani, Brix, Willow and I came up with tonight...
General Idea: Rodolphus kidnaps Ginny as revenge/payback for Neville having killed Bellatrix.
Details: This would pull in Neville and Ron [working together? gasp!], Tes [who is still close with Rodolphus, yes?], Narcissa [because of Tes?], and other evil or vaguely evil people [like deatheaters, who might think there was reforming going on, or more meetings, etc.]. This also gives the ever-lovely Gaby something to do, since we love her. :D We can decide later if we want Rodolphus to escape or not, and deal with that however she'd like.
Please give thoughts, comments, additions, etc.

| I have a PB idea that I thought I would run by everyone. She's a tennis player, so I'm doubting most of you have heard of her. She does have very bushy and often frizzy brown hair, though. Her name is Patty Schnyder, and I've included a few icons to give you an idea of what she looks like. I could use her or stick to someone like Julia Stiles. Let me know what you all think?

| First off, please do NOT start anything that might be spoiler-y until after EVERYONE has finished the book, or else keep plot stuff cut and properly labelled. kthnx.
Second: I realize that, at this point, with two books having been released since this RP was started, we've become so different from canon that it might be difficult to bring in new stuff anyway. However, if there was anything anyone wanted to include, please do let me know here. (Warning for those who haven't finished, this obviously means the comments will be a spoiler zone.)
And last but possibly most important.
COMMENT ON THE NEXT POST, bitches, if you're still paying proper attention. We've all been slacking off due to, you know, finals and then summer etc etc, but there's a difference between slacking off and just plain dropping off the face of the earth. So if you want to continue to play- and are certain you'll at least have some time to devote to the game- you MUST comment here or I am going to track you down and kick some ass.
If you people can't be buggered to so much as check this community every week at LEAST, you may need to reconsider if you really want to be in the group at all.

After lots of inactivity and upheaval, I think a summary about where things stand would be helpful to getting things going smoothly again. I know I need a summary, that's for sure. SO, here it is. A lot for my benefit, some for yours. :D
Political Climate
With Dolores Umbridge ousted from the Minister of Magic position and Kingsley Shacklebot having taken her place, things are decidedly getting better in the wizarding world. Shacklebot has a decidedly different theory in dealing with the Muggles, but is it necessarily better? It seems to be causing some problems of its own. While ridiculous muggle charges like those placed against Hannah, Susan, Harry, and Luna have been lifted, muggles are getting angrier and angrier that their fears are not being assuaged by the Ministry of Magic's compliance with British and other world governments.
In short, the fact that Kingsley Shacklebot is taking a more pro-active approach to wizarding rights in the muggle world is pissing muggles off even more and laws are being passed to ban wizards from holding office, or to make it easier to discriminate against them. Better relationship with the Ministry, but a worse relationship with Muggles.
Darkness Lurking
You all may remember a dark little potion weilded by Umbridge, based on a disease that took away a wizard's magical powers? It hadn't been developed fully yet, but she used it anyway to threaten Ron. Well some more nefarious profit-driven wizards have stolen the formula and are currently researching it to develop it to it's full potential. If this completed potion falls into the wrong hands, the Wizarding World could be in big trouble.
Lucius is also still working on his own evil machinations, looking to be able to use the Dark Mark to summon minions to him. Could he be the next Lord Voldemort? Will the dark side and the light side have a common goal when the Black Potion is completed? :O Is Ene on crack?
Angelina Johnson seems to have taken a turn to the dark side with the aidings of Blaise Zabini. After news of Lee Thomas and the Twins, Angelina found herself in a position for change. Zabini was glad to help.
Weddings
The plot with Draco stays, yeah? I know Kar said she wanted to drop it, but I was under the impression that she didn't think it could work without Draco? Well it can! Fortunately, Draco has been planning to go abroad for an indetermined amount of time to work on a Malfoy family history.
So now that Artemis is pregnant with the twins, Draco has broken ties with Harry (Harry insists that he broke it off with Draco, he's telling me to tell you all that) and has left the country. Narcissa and Pansy will take care of Tes, especially since Andromeda has disappeared.
Neville and Ginny are to be married (*squee*) much to the chagrin of Ron. Frank and Alice Longbottom have been cured due to Neville's work in University level potions. Please tell me mini-Weasleys are on the way.
Zacharias and Marcus are also to be married and we all can't wait for the big gay wedding of the season. Please tell me mini-Flints are on the way...no..don't. *ducks left hook from Flint*
Hogwarts University
Classes out for the summer, Hogwarts prepares itself for another year to begin in the autumn. Slowly regaining its studentship after rebuilding, Hogwarts is sure to have a busy year upcoming. Good news is on the front though! Remus is renewed and seemingly ready to tackle the future. Severus Snape, however, has moved on from the long haunted halls of Hogwarts to running his own apothecary and living in the house that Draco built for him on the Snape family's property.
Quidditch
Ronald Wealsey now plays Keeper for the Cannons. Professional Quidditch is as popular as ever, but since the veil has been broken between the muggle world and the wizarding world, it is becoming more and more difficult to prevent muggles from spying the games.

Clearly, my computer is an HP fan, too. :O or SOMETHING.
But damn, guys, this calls for CELEBRATION. Once more I can RP with you children and not get booted every 15 minutes! It, uhm, seems to instead be on a kick of every 2 hours, BUT THAT'S OKAY.
So. Obviously, I'm not going to demand we try to do anything now- everyone's got stuff planned, I know I probably won't be back until, like, late Saturday/early Sunday anyway. So really, by the time we're all able to celebrate, it's going to be, um, "WOO LOOK NEW CANON FUN" partying and nothing to do with me and my internet issues.
But damn it, I'm happy.
