Welcome to the Viggo Mortensen Stills icon challenge community!


This is a place for original Viggo Mortensen icons.
Each week we will give you the material, i.e. a picture (Or two, or three. Depending on what we wish.), perhaps lyrics to add, a color to use, and other such things.
Then, you lovelies will take said materials home, play with them, mix and match them, create a wonderful little icon that you will send back to us; then they will be voted on and the winners displayed for all to see.

1. Your icons cannot, let me repeat, cannot be animated. Animations aren't stills now are they?

2. Icons must remain anonymous to keep it fair. So no using you lovely little icons anywhere else until after the voting is finished.

3. No telling your friends, relatives, total strangers to come and vote for you. Let's play nice, people.

4. No voting for yourself. Seriously, come on now.

5. Your icon must fit the LJ standards. No larger than 100x100 pixels, and no more than 40 kb.

6. If you like the icons that are submitted, please, ask the creator before you use them. Please ensure the proper credits are given.




1. You will need a host that allows remote linking. You can't just copy and paste from your hard drive. Geocities/angelfire/tripod, won't work. Try photobucket.com

2. Place your icon in a comment post to the message where you got the pictures from. The comments will be screened so the only ones who can see them will be you and the community moderators. (Image URL's are no longer needed. We now save all icons to our own image service.)



1. The materials for each new contest will be available every Saturday.

2. You will then have two weeks to complete and enter your icons. I.E - You get the pics Saturday, January 1st, they must be in by Friday, January 13th at midnight Pacific Standard Time.

3. The icons will be made available for viewing that Saturday morning-ish, and you will then have until midnight Sunday night to vote.

4. Winners will be announced on Monday.

**(These timelines are subject to change without any prior warning. But not by too much.)**





1. You don't have to be a member of the community to vote.

2. Each week you must vote for three icons in each category. If you do not vote for all three, or vote for more than three, your vote will not be counted. This is done to make life easier for us.

3. Anonymous votes are not accepted. Sorry.

4. Each week, both the moderators will be picking a Mod's Choice icon in each category. They will be icons that the Mods particularly like, that didn't make it to the top 3. (Sometimes we will choose to pick only one Mod's choice instead of two. When this happens is up to our discretion.)




1 - In the 'Lyrics' challenge you said to use 4 lyrics, does that mean you want me to cram 4 lines of the song into a tiny little 100X100 square?

No. In the 'Lyrics' challenges that we have all entries to the challenge must use four words. (Or, how many were specified that week.) Not lines, words. I know I word this strangely quite often and confuse a lot of people. I'm sorry.

2 - I didn't get my banner from week something-or-other. Did I miss it?

Chances are, no you didn't. The banner maker may simply be a little late in getting the banners done. Please be patient. We all have lives outside the community too ;)

3 - Can I see how many votes my icon received?

Yes. After all the votes have been tallied and the winners have been posted I will post the count in the 'Entries' post from that week. (The place where all the icons were displayed.) But please remember, it is possible that your icon received few, or even no, votes. If this will upset you, please don't look.
