Developer:: Square
System(s): NES/MSX2/GBA/PSX/WSC/PSP
Genre: Role-Playing Game

Description:

Final Fantasy was developed during a period of time when Square was deep in financial woes. The title idea comes from the fact that it was to be Hironobu's -Final- game and that it was a "Fantasy" Role-Playing Game.  The developement team consisted of only seven people to bring this game to life.

Final Fantasy is a game that is well known for popularizing the Role-Playing Game genre as we know it today and is yet reinventing those ideas with each new release into the series.  The game focused on 4 "light warriors" which are characters with  classes of your choosing: Fighter, Black Belt, Thief, Black Mage, White Mage and Red Mage, because of this the characers themselves remain in a rather neutral state throughout the game being led more or less by the tides of the story throughout the world and the ambition of the player to mould their party to their liking.
