Hey, there, does anyone know where I could find some audio effects? Specifically, I need to create the audio for a storm at sea, so I'm looking for thunder claps, waves crashing, wind blowing, the whole she-bang. I'm using Vegas, and I thought there might be some ready-made sound effects, but I haven't located them. Perhaps a patch? Does anyone know? Or is there some archive where I could download some sound bites? Thank you in advance for any help.

Stargate fans - we've all seen the shippy vids. Those two people that 'go' so well together. But what happens when you throw a third wheel into the mix?

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Triangle Vids Challenge. This challenge is to make any type of vid that involves relationships between three people. Think along the lines of two separate and competing ships ie. Weir/Sheppard/Teyla. They can be any kind of triangle that you want - you don't have to limit yourself to the angsty, romantic type.

As usual, you may use footage from Stargate SG-1 or Atlantis.

We've had amazing shows year after year, and I can hardly wait to see what people do with the latest footage.

The Con is in Denver this year, October 9-11, 2009, and we're really excited about it! If you've never gone, you should really consider attending. It's absolute blast -- by the fans, for the fans, it's a huge pajama party with all of your favorite people. Let me know if you want more information, and you can check out the official Con Comm winchestercon for details as well.

But, in the meantime, get those vids started. Deadline isn't for another two months, and each vidder is allowed to submit up to three entries. I just know this is going to be the best year ever!

I'm trying to import one specific .avi file (Xvid MPEG-4 codec, the same as all the other files that have imported fine so far) but it doesn't import correctly. Placed on the time line there is the full audio for the file but only the first 30 or so seconds of video. Removing loop, making the video portion longer doesn't do anything, it seems like there really is only 30 seconds of video there. The file plays normally for the entire 40 minutes in Windows Media Player though. The only other thing that's different with this file is that when I place it on the time line it puts the audio on too, when I place my other avi files on the time line it doesn't add an audio track for the video.

Any ideas what might be the problem or possible workarounds?

ETA: Problem solved by stripping audio off .avi file in VirtualDub
