Gen-Con UK report
We're back from Gen-Con UK and rather glad to get a rest from conventions for a little while.
We had a great time, but after another long weekend it is good to be home.

Generally we had a really good time, and were really pleased all the games did well.
Qin sold very well, especially as most people who had a look at the gorgeous artwork inside couldn't resist buying it!
However, Victoriana kept up admirably, and was even doing better at one point.
SLA Industries was also a good seller, and it was especially good to see people picking up the corebook. SLA already has a big following, but it is nice to see new people getting into the game.

Our booth had a really good position this time, and we had some really nice neighbours.
Stealthy Spider were doing their modern wargame 'Occult Wars' and were a really nice bunch, although they spent most of the Con crouched over their diorama with a tape measure running demos.

We were also lucky be to next door to a new company 'Twisted Creations'. They were doing their new vampire game 'Gothic Society', a vampire horror game based in a world where the vampires have tired of hiding and taken control. We had a really good time chatting to these guys, who brought masses of Jaffa cakes and biscuits to share. Next year we are having a picnic area behind the stalls.

With the Twisted guys we spent a lot of the Con shouting at Squash Goblin across the hall from us. Mostly as they were selling so many dragons we were wondering how they were breeding them! They were a really great bunch too and I picked up some old James Bond RPG stuff from them which made me very happy! Seeing how well the Dragons were selling, both Twisted Creations and us decided we'd better put more in our games. An argument ensued about whose idea it was to do Vampire dragons which would probably sell more games! Dom went for a different tack suggesting dragons in drag. "These heels are really killing Gorgoroth's feet!"

Anyway, here are some pictures of the Con, mostly of mouse getting into trouble (again).

Firstly, as I promised Booth Babe photos, here is Mrs Corone doing her Victorian Whore outfit.
I nearly spat Coke all over the stand when dressed as gorgeously as that she got a customer's attention with the immortal line "Can I interest you in Victoriana fantasy". She meant Victoriana, but I wasn't too sure for a moment.

Here are our neighbours as well, Stealthy Spider on the left and Twisted Creations on the right.
Sadly I had the camera on the wrong setting, but even blurred they were great neighbours.
The con goes a lot quicker if you have people who make you laugh on either side of you.

Mouse started the weekend being really helpful,
here he is checking the programme for us before we went.

However, he soon started to make trouble.
We think it started here when he visited Stealthy Spider's wargames demo and was finally bigger than everyone else.

Then he was away to visit the Postmortem Studios stand,
where he couldn't resist trying to chat up Donna!

Grim gave him a stiff talking to, but...

He still fell foul of the Convention security.

One of the best things of the con was to also catch up properly with Sasha from Pelgrane Press and Grim and Donna from Postmorten Studios (and Steve and Alex too!) Check out Grim's Gen-con report on [info]apresvie

We all went out for food after each day and just chatted away for hours. If we hadn't all been exhausted we'd have loved to stay up a lot later! Still, everyone seemed to do really well at the con, so it is great to see people still have a need to buy great games from groovy people.

Sorry I couldn't make it.

Mouse totally needs his own LJ.

Yup, was a shame we couldn't meet up,
but there is still Dragonmeet!

We'll definatly be there, especially as we've already had someone asking to run demo games for us.
If we are lucky we'll have some copies of Faulkners guide too.

Not sure about an LJ for Mouse,
he was getting far too excited as it is!
Mind you, his freind [info]aloysius_bear already has one,
so Mouse appears there from time to time.
