If you are a cheap pet owner who is trolling the internet for free vet advice, please stop paying $20 a month for your internet access and use that $20 to provide proper care for your animal.
A community for those in the veterinary technician/animal caregiver field. This community is a resource for those in this field of work; job postings or queries about employment, are welcomed.
Please note! The people that regularly post and read this community are trained and very knowledgeable in the field of veterinary medicine, but WE ARE NOT veterinarians.
We CANNOT legally do surgery, diagnose disease, or prescribe and dispense medications.
Do not come here looking for a quick way to take care of your pets, just to save a few dollars. Odds are, you'll get told "if you can't afford to take care of a pet, then perhaps you shouldn't own one." Harsh, but true.
Our advice, while generally sound and sincere, DOES NOT replace the actual "hands on" examination and diagnosis from a licensed veterinarian. Please respect this statement, for we are limited to what we can say or do in regards to your pet's health.
If your pets are not feeling well, or are not behaving like what is considered "normal" for them, then free information and advice off the web may not be a good idea for their immediate health care needs. The care that your sick animal needs right now cannot be cured by running to a nearby pharmacy and spending $4.99 on a bottle of peroxide and a tube of anti-itch cream.
Questions that pertain to getting into the field of veterinary technology are always welcome.
Your veterinarian is the best source of care and information when it comes to your pet's care. Thank you.
