Just last week, the Winx CG movie was released on DVD in Italy (before you ask, it probably won't affect the theatrical release of the movie in other countries, since it's an Italian-language only release). So, here are some pretty good quality icons.

I scanned one of my Rainbow books and the paper dolls from another. Those I punched out to use as bookmarks, so some of the icons are a little odd. Like Patty's has a line in it. That's the edge of the bookmark. The first two of Indigo are the only icons from a book scan. The illustrations were crap except for that pic of her. These are all books from the rerelease a couple years ago, so they're on the cheap side. I want to get some vintage books and do more icons.

I scanned my Felicity, Addy, Kit and Samantha books, so I will have icons for those girls later tonight. The sun is streaming in through the door by my desk, so I can't see well enough to make them now. (Though I want to!) Oh, and there should be one of Kirsten, too. I scanned her mystery book cover. She looks pretty there.

Kit will be the second American Girl to have her main series featured in icon form. (Julie being the first.) I decided to pick up the story collections (all 6 main books in the form of one hardcover) on eBay if I could find them cheap. I got Kit's for $16 (which includes shipping). They're $30 new and they're currently out of print, so I thought that was a good price. I feel a little bit silly buying books I already own, but on the other hand, I really love them and these hardcovers are so much easier to travel than the sets. So I can take them with me in my little "library" of books that I always have wherever I live. When I go home for break, I'll examine the other books (short stories, Elizabeth's book, Emily's book, mysteries) for icon potential and bring or mail back here what ones I want to scan.
I'm bidding on Addy, Samantha and Josefina's collections for under $10 each right now from the same seller. And I'm bidding on another seller's Felicity collection for 99 cents. Here's hoping I win those!
And I used part of the "severance" gift card from my lockout job to buy the nine packs of AG trading cards that were in my Barnes & Noble. They're fun cards and I'll scan some of them to iconize when I get Kit's book. There's one card of Samantha that I think will make an excellent icon. It's made me want to reread her books and try to love her more.
I'm also bidding on the Katy Keene digests that would complete my digest collection (provided there weren't more than 9 made). If I get those, I'll post a huge batch of icons. If I don't, then I'll just post ones from the four digests I own. I already have four or so made from digest #5, but I haven't scanned 2, 7 or 8. (I want to read them first.)
So that's what I have in mind for upcoming icon projects. Yay!
ETA: And now someone's outbidding me on all the Katy Keenes. Oh, well.

My next icon projects:
1) Crap, I forgot about those scans of Winx #27. Where the hell is my brain? I'll work on them tomorrow. Er, in a few hours.
2) American Girl Ivy and Julie. To be done when my Julie book set arrives.
3) Katy Keene! I have three digests and a fourth on the way, and they're full of awesomeness. I just hope I can get some decent icons, since the digests are almost 20 years old.
4) Possibly some Aliens and Predator.

I have issue #27 in my paws and I'll be iconizing it sometime soon. The mood isn't striking me tonight, but sometime over the weekend, I should do it. Sunday's a good possibility. The only thing I have on the schedule is grocery shopping. Heh.
This issue has a LOT of the witches, though not as high quality as usual. I'm not sure if it's the "good artist" having a slightly less detailed day or if it's a "good artist knockoff." Still, the art is nice. The icons will mostly be of the Trix and their childhood friend, Darko. I think someone else may have done icons or scans of him before. He looks a bit like Brandon gone bad. The story's not done yet either, so I look forward to it continuing next issue.
Upcoming issues:
#30: The "Layla gets a boyfriend" issue that everyone went on about.
#31: Diaspro!
Those sound cool. I remember Marzia (the one that looks a bit like Musa with the big yellow headband thingy) being in Layla's #30, so I'm looking forward to that. She's probably my favorite new fairy that we know nothing about. (Nova being my favorite new fairy that we know something about.)
