[ Thursday; July 23; 2009 ] izzardwizzard Author:  akahoshi  Prompt:  breakfast and C/B/A Warning:  None Disclaimer:  Written purely to put a lump in Wyntini's throat.  Todd Haynes owns the lovelies. That Tommy Stone was, in fact, the reincarnation of Brian Slade, was the only thing about the night that was expected.  Curt left the bar first, left Arthur sitting there, too grown to be hopeful, but stunned with a pendant pin-prick on his tongue.  And Curt left the bar, but he didn't leave, he was blowing huffs of smoke against the brick when Arthur stepped weary onto the groupie-strewn street. "You want it back, then?"  Arthur asked in his low, sensible voice, reaching into his pocket to return the last bit of magic he might ever see in his life, his tongue stinging. "You live around here?" Curt knew absolutely nothing about charm or guile, but his draw was cosmic.  The flush running down to the center of Arthur's body was just him, burning up in Curt's atmosphere.  That's all. 19 and 1/2 blocks in unexpectedly companionable silence. Curt looked around Arthur's place with open interest and waited with unexpected boyish awkwardness as Arthur poured him a beer.  Sex seemed obvious -- that's what men do when they take each other home.  Arthur fell asleep crossways on his bed with his socked feet skimming the floor.  Curt stayed awake and picked through Arthur's album collection and felt a quiet rising inside. For breakfast, Arthur didn't burn the toast and Curt leaned out the window to smoke.  They were unexpectedly tender with each other -- only distant to keep from touching the open wound. It was clear now, the morning after nothing and an empty chair at the breakfast table.  They missed him.  In different ways and for different reasons, but they missed him.  Missed Brian because they needed him. Maybe, Arthur thought, running two plates under the tap, after all they'd found each other -- "When did you figure it out?"  Curt was scratching his stomach and leaning against the stove, thoroughly settled in. Maybe they could find Brian too. He was out there -- it was obvious by the way Curt was lingering.  He still believed it. 8 // love me sublime // mangle my mind

He had a perforated ulcer a few years ago when visiting us in Jersey and it's playing up again unfortunately :-/ He is ok and is fine. Jamie rang me last night and told me. He is in L.A so he would know. Hope this clears it all up for you all?
