| .VeganHaven is for vegans to vent in a safe space. |
| VeganHaven is not an 'open' space in that it is has restrictive membership standards. This community is intended for vegans only. For those of you who stumbled upon this community while looking for a more open community to ask questions in, please try In VeganHaven, being vegan means that you don't eat honey or gelatin or casein (unless it is something you can't give away and it is just going to go to waste), that you don't wear fur or leather (or are at least trying to get that skin out of your wardrobe)**, and that you agree with the idea of using digital cameras as opposed to gelatin based ones. **For those of you who aren't sure about this one because you might be okay with buying something second hand which is made of fur/leather/wool/silk/etc., I'll list the reasons why you shouldn't: -there exists a vast amount of used clothing, so it isn't a matter of those products or nothing -you are advertising to other people by what you wear... it's not so obvious with wool sometimes but with leather and fur you stick out -when you buy an item made from animal product, someone may come into that same store after you looking for that same item, and upon not finding it, go buy it new -you are telling the store that those items sell -when a greater population of the world is vegan and it becomes a matter of wearing an animal product or buying something new, then it would be more of a matter to debate |
