Hi there! Does anyone know where I can get two thin sheets of glass to put a picture between? Like a frame without the frame?
Thanks :)

Plastic Canvas

  • Dec. 7th, 2009 at 8:08 PM
I've spent a great deal of time this week looking online and in art/craft stores in Vancouver, but I haven't been able to find any sheets of plastic canvas for making stitch-crafts. Does anyone know where I might find some?

I'm looking to make these Tetris magnets:

Canadian Olympic Team Lamb's Wool Sweater

  • Dec. 7th, 2009 at 4:07 PM
What is going on with this sweater?

I would like to purchase it but it is no listed on the vancouver 2010 website and it is nowhere in the bay.

is it not out yet?

ebay sellers are saying that it is limited edition. no way...it seems stupid if it is limited edition

they only have the child girls size.
Greetings Vancouver!

Oak Animal Hospital - Anyone have (1st person!) pet stories to share about this particular clinic and/or its veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, etc.?

Alternatively, is there an animal hospital in Vancouver that you would recommend?

Thanks,

Can anyone recommend a guitar teacher?

  • Dec. 7th, 2009 at 2:10 PM
Hi folks,

I am planning to buy a couple of beginner guitar lessons for a friend, and I am wondering if you have any recommendations for a good teacher?

The Commercial Drive area would be best, but really anywhere I can get to by skytrain or bus.

Thank ya kindly,
MJ

Outdoor Christmas Baubles

  • Dec. 7th, 2009 at 9:24 AM
Hey Vancouver!

Ever see a tree in someone's front yard with lots of very large Christmas baubles (*ahem* balls)? I love that look and I want to buy some of those giant outdoor Christmas baubles. I've tried IKEA and today I'm going to hit up Michael's, Canadian Tire, and Rona. Any other bright ideas for where to find them though?

Thanks in advance!

Looking to adopt a Chinchilla!

  • Dec. 6th, 2009 at 9:12 PM
Hey there Vancouver! Does anyone have a Chinchilla available for adoption? if not, does anybody know any really good breeders around here? I'm very interesting in adopting one! (Don't worry I know all about care, diet, living conditions and such)

If you do have on though, please contact my email at cirque.du.yoru.koi@gmail.com because I'm sure you have questions on how they will be cared for, where they will be located and so on.

Thank you all who reply!

Looking for 1/4" wide metal headbands...

  • Dec. 6th, 2009 at 5:09 PM
Yeah, I know it's specific. It's for crafting - I have an idea I want to try out!

I've tried Dressew, and I've tried a few dollar stores. The staff at Michael's had no idea if they carried anything like that.

Anyone know where I could find them?

unlocking a Nokia 1661

  • Dec. 5th, 2009 at 12:25 PM
My Sony Erickson phone w/fido is dying.
i was given a Nokia 1661, but it's locked in with Rogers.

I've looked online and inquired at a couple shops in Vancouver that unlock phones, but it seems no one can unlock this phone.

This is my last stitch of effort. Anyone here have any great idea's? any people or places I should try? Any disgruntled Rogers employees that might be able to help me out??

:/

thanks for any suggestions!

Looking for Creative Labs ZEN MP3 players

  • Dec. 5th, 2009 at 8:45 AM
Does anyone know of any stores in the Metro Vancouver area that sell Creative Labs ZEN MP3 players? Neither Future Shop, nor Best Buy, nor London Drugs has them.

Thanks in advance.

free snowshoe trails?

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 8:01 PM
Hi all,

Any recommendations for a badass 2ish hour snowshoe trail? We've done Dog Mountain up Seymour a pile of times, looking for something new. We don't have oodles of snowshoeing experience so would like to hike a legit trail, not random back country.

Thanks!
So I have about 10 months left on my contract with Bell. My current phone is crapping out (battery life is very low, often doesn't ring when I get calls). I want to get a new phone. However, I want that phone to be compatible with other providers (Rogers, Telus, etc.) because I definitely want to switch out of Bell after my contract is up.

When I went to go talk to Bell, they said that they did sell GSM phones that used SIM cards, but that they started at $250. That seems incredibly expensive to me. Does anyone know where I can get a phone that is compatible with all providers for reasonably cheap?

Thanks!

I'm looking for one of those giant bargain grab-bags of old buttons. I know that occasionally thrift stores have them, but I'm wondering if anybody has seen something like this around lately... Maybe at Dressew or another fabric store? I know some places have "buttons by the scoop" or "buttons by the pound" on occasion. Are there any Notion-Specific-Bargain stores in Vancouver that I should know about?
