Here is the information for Challenge No. 34. All entries for this challenge will be due Tuesday, August 19th at 9:00pm EDT. We've been doing great on challenges the past couple of weeks, so keep it up! :D

Capture Challenge: "The Real Armand"
I thought we'd do something a little different this week. I had this idea awhile back, but wasn't really sure how to approach it. Is anyone else sort of bothered by the fact that neither of the actors who played Armand looked remotely like the description given in the books? I always was. So, I went to gettyimages.com and found a couple of young men that I think reflect Armand's description in The Vampire Chronicles. You may make as many as you like, all affects allowed.

*EDIT* Here is a description of Armand as he is in the books: Armand is a fictional character in The Vampire Chronicles novels written by Anne Rice. Contrary to his appearance in the movie Interview with the Vampire (in which he was played by Antonio Banderas) Armand has a beautifully young, boy-like appearance; long, straight auburn hair and dark brown eyes. His features are at times compared to those of Cupid or a Botticelli angel.

I included some of a guy with short hair because Armand would sometimes cut his hair short when he went out with Daniel in QOTD (the book, of course).

And these photos were graciously given to us by l_l31030lover. You may use these as well.

The deadline for Challenge #33 will be 11:59PM PST on Saturday August 2nd. Participants may enter up to five icons per each part of the challenge for a total of 10 icons for this challenge.

Screen Caputre Challenge: We haven't had a technical challenge in a while, so the screen capture challenge will be Black & White. All icons entered for the screen capture challenge must be in black and white with no colour.

You may use any image from either Interview With the Vampire or Queen of the Damned (including images from the music videos for Queen of the Damned.) You may submit up to five icons for this challenge.

Text Challenge: I am using another song from the Lestat Musical and it is written by Elton John & Bernie Taupin.

Since we have had 8 more songs in text challenges, it's time for another CD cover! :D It should have both a front and back cover that are 440x440 pixels in size, featuring any image from either movie or fanart. The front cover should have "v_c_icontest: volume 2" on it in any form you wish (for instance, you could take out the underscores in v_c_icontest). The back cover should have the track number, challenge number, name of the song, and artist or album from which it came for each song; again, this can be in any manner you wish.

I am really at a loss as to what to do about this community. We have 42 members, and yet a grand total of three people (including myself) participated in this last challenge. We had at least four times that number enter in the very first challenge!

Something has to be done. I've included a poll with some options that I've thought of. If you have any additional suggestions/comments, feel free to comment on this post. They will be screened.

Capture Challenge: Interview with the Vampire Bases

We haven't done a base challenge in awhile, and the last time we did they were from QOTD. So, I've uploaded 33 beautiful bases (made by the lovely people at dont_be_so_base) for you to use. Please use only these bases. You may make as many icons as you like. [ :) ]

Special Challenge: Community Header and Banner

Instead of a text challenge this week, we'll have a special challenge. Your task is to make a header for the community's layout, and a matching banner for promotional purposes. The width of the community header needs to be between 700 and 800 pixels, but the height is up to you. The promotional banner needs to be smaller than the community header, but the exact dimensions are up to you.
