registration dates are up on usource. I usually find out through this community so it's lucky that I was all "man, I think registration dates are posted soon or something..."
and hey, we've done this before, but post your registration date, year standing, and GPA. just so you know where in the fray you stand. GPA part optional!
I got June 26 at 5:45 pm. I'm a 4th year student. my GPA is in the 5.00-7.00 bracket.
I should add that I'm a little confused since last year, I was June 20. maybe everything has moved further away? or maybe registration hates me. |

I'm about 3 courses away from a full 60 credit humanities degree, and need to determine if taking just those 3 units or another full course load next year is the better option.
So, I have two questions, somewhat interconnected:
If you take courses above your 60 credit BA but don't count them towards a second declared BA, do they apply to your current degree and 'bump out' older grades or contribute to your GPA in general, or is it simply an expenditure of time and money with no reflection on any transcript?
What years of your undergraduate transcript - or general GPA calculations - do Universities generally look at in applications in order to determine your Master's Degree candidacy? (I've heard rumors that they only look at your final two, but others which say they look at the 'cumulative GPA' that UVic calculates for you at the bottom of your transcript in uSource.)
I'll ask the academic advisers if I must, but I thought I'd ask you kind folks just in case it saves me an appointment.

I am covered by dental with Uvic's Greenshield but recently got billed high amount for my dental appointment because my Greenshield ID isn't working anymore since we switched student numbers.
It used to be UVS00student number-00
Does anyone know what they changed them to? Is the V included? or just starting with 001 .. etc? or are there also extra 0s on top of that as it was previously?

Anyone know what the procedure on this is? Yesterday I filled out the form and went through the whole process, and they said they would send a copy to admissions (or something like that?) who would then send it to the prof.
Today I was talking to a friend from the same class who said that she got a photocopy and had to deliver it to the prof herself.
I've never done this before...which of these is standard procedure? |

| Invisible Children: A film presentation |

"Discover the Unseen"
Thousands of children in Uganda and the Congo have been, and are being, abducted as child soldiers in Joseph Kony’s rebel army, the LRA (Lords Resistance Army).
The Invisible Children organization is trying to stop this by fundraising and educating through amazing film presentations. Come show your support and learn more about this situation and what Invisible Children is doing to stop it.
On April 21st the Invisible Children road team will be screening a new film at UVic, in Vertigo in the Student Union Building from 7pm until 9pm. Admission is free, donations gladly accepted. Fundraising merchandise will also be available.
This will be two hours of your life that you will never forget.

I went online to try to view my PADRE report and found that something called a CAPP program is now being used. Does anyone know anything about this?
I wanted to view my report so I could find out what I had left to do to graduate. Is there a roundabout way of getting to the report? |

| Feather Hair Accessories |

I posted this once, but it was accidentally locked, so I thought I'd try this again:
So a few weeks ago, there were two lovely ladies in the SUB selling feather hair-bands, feather earrings, etc. They were there for one day, and I purchased a hair band from them which I LOVED for $15. They were set up between Travel Cuts & Sub-Text. A lot of their hair accessories also featured buttons as well as feathers.
And I promptly lost it (I think I left it at Ferris's, but I called and asked to no avail).
Hence, I am wondering if anyone:
a) knows who the two women were, and if they are returning to uvic in the near future or
b) if they have a website (ie Etsy shop) where they sell their wares.
I searched Etsy but didn't find them - however that could be the result of a shop that has not been recently updated.

second semester marks are now an option in usource as of a few minutes ago, I think. so you can start checking your second semester's marks. one of mine has been posted. cool.
edit: this is only true if any of your marks have been posted. so if you don't see it as an option, then none of your marks have been posted. you work in strange ways, usource... |

While walking on Cook Street this evening, I found a student card belonging to Alysha Krassilowsky. I can't find her on Facebook, but if anybody knows her, could they please let her know that I'll drop it off at Campus Security tomorrow morning, probably around 10am? Thanks.
