In a matter of weeks, Season 8 went from being potentially one of the best to the second worst behind Season 4.

Reasons for the 180 include:
1) The failure of the America’s Player experiment. People can spin it anyway what they want, but the ultimate goal is to be in the final two, and for Eric (on behalf of America), the final four, but Eric couldn’t even reach the cutoff stage where he was to play on his own. Count me in the Eric had no choice as AP camp. It would be a mistake to repeat having this experiment in Season 9. Any future HG who knows the ins and outs of the game would eventually catch on and expose AP much to the producers’ chagrin

2) Amber. Not only did she prove to be an anti-Semite, but she was an emotional wreck from Week 1. She did not even belong in the game given her chronic crying. I mean for a last-minute replacement, CBS should and could have found someone else. Also, her playing the Christian card exposed her for the hypocrite that she is. Hell, Kail is a better Christian than Meth Addict Amber

3) Horrible strategy. The remaining HGs are more responsible than America in Week 6 for the end result two weeks ago as they were tripping over themselves to keep Dick and Daniele in as a way of netting an easy win. Somebody should have told those morons that keeping the most detestable players is not only bad strategy but something that often backfires when it comes to finales as the most hated walk way with the ultimate prize in such a situation

4) CBS stirring up controversy for the sake of stirring up controversy. Earlier this season, an AP task ADMITTED that Eric “needed to create controversy” in the house. As a result, he put mustard on Jen’s clothes. Is this Big Brother or The Real World? And don’t get me started on the big smack down between atheist Dick and the full-fledged Christians (Amber, Jameka, and Kail)

5) Allegations of rigging the game. These have varied from:
a) Eric doing the AP tasks on behalf of the producers, not the viewers
b) The usual distortion by CBS to make a HG likable, unlikable, or polarizing as well as editing out several parts of various incidents to make us see what the network wanted us to see
c) Rigging the game in favor of the Donatos
d) Forcing the HGs to change their votes to keep Eric instead of Kail
e) Rigging HOH contests against Eric so AP wouldn’t have such an easy ride

6) The show’s treatment of Jen. I normally don’t care that much for Chill Town, but the producers screwed her over big time, and I’ll leave it at that

Personally I think he should crawl into bed with someone who would never expect it, I think crawling into bed with either of the gay guys would be dull. I think it's be funny if he crawled into bed with someone like Dick, Jameka, Kail.. or one of those types that would freak out. It would be funny to see there reaction!

Episode Recap/Discussion : Week 1, Episode 3

Hey guys and girls!

Sorry for the late post. Cass had some virus problems, and I just got the recap finished. This post will serve as episode recap and discussion. So, please chat your little hearts away!

Previously on Big Brother 8: 14 houseguests moved in and began the battle for ½ million dollars. 6 were shocked to find out they were staying with someone from their past. Tempers flared between Dustin and Joe. Dick and Daniele were forced to deal with their troubled past. And Jen was forced to deal with a troubling photograph. Kail won the HOH competition. The first alliance of the summer was formed. And Carol and Amber were nominated for eviction.

We start off with a review of the nomination ceremony. It’s silent. Joe breaks it with “AWKWARD!” Amber thinks Kail shouldn’t have put her up because they both have kids. She’s crying. Carol says that it was Kail’s safest move. She didn’t piss people off that way. Jessica is happy about the nominations. She says she’ll die if Carol isn’t evicted before her.

Kail and Mike are talking about the nomination ceremony in one of the bathrooms. Mike thinks that it went really well. They don’t think that Kail has a target on her back. Kail thinks her strategy is working. She got off scotch free.

We cut to Amber and Dustin. Dustin is sad that Amber is taking the nomination so hard. Carol tells Amber that she’s fighting for her. Amber says she’s sad because she answered the questions wrong and she feels responsible for Carol’s nomination. In the DR, she says maybe it’s a gift from God that she is on the block so she could work through it.

Now, we have a Carol and Jessica scene. They’re sitting in the teacup talking. They’re talking about campaigning for votes. Jessica says that Carol is acting nonchalant about the situation. Carol says she doesn’t know what to do to find people to vote for her. In the DR, Jessica says that Carol is putting on a front that she doesn’t really care about it. But it is just a front. Jessica hopes that everybody realizes that and votes Carol out. Carol says she has a better chance if she stays calm and collected. Carol says her only motivation is that she doesn’t want to leave before Jessica.

Now, we see Carol and Zach talking about the nominations. Carol thinks that Zach has an influence on Nick and Mike. Carol wants Zach’s help. But he doesn’t want to help her if she’s not going to fight for herself. But then, she says she’ll fight. Once she tells him that, he says he’ll help her out.

Now, Kail, Dick, and Joe are laying out by the pool. Kail and Dick are talking about Daniele. Kail says that Daniele is a crack up. They talk about Dick and his son. Dick took his son Vincent to a strip bar for his 21^st birthday. Dick says he couldn’t ask for a better son. He says they had a heart to heart in a strip club. In the DR, Dick said he wanted to let Kail know that there were two kids, and he had a really close relationship with his son, even though he and Daniele hadn’t always been on the best of terms. Dick tells Kail that Daniele is a lot more like him personality wise then his son is. Kail, in the DR, says that Dick confuses her because he has such a rough exterior but his interior is softer and sensitive.

On to another segment. The girls (and Joe) are watching Nick work out and lift weights.

JESSICA DR: I think Nick’s pretty cute.
DANIELE DR: I think he has a very nice body
JOE DR: Nick is so hot, it’s ridiculous
JEN DR: I don’t like muscles

NICK DR: One of my main strategies coming into the house with the females was I was gonna flirt with them. You know, I have an inviting smile and I don’t think they’ll be as partial to voting me out.

Nick and Daniele are sitting on the couches outside. Daniele asks Nick what his middle name is. “Anton,” he says. “Does that make me more or less attractive?” “Way more.”

NICK DR: My favorite chick in the house to flirt with is Daniele. Just because she’s very beautiful, she’s very funny, which I enjoy.

We see Amber and Nick laying on a bed talking. He says she’s super awesome.

NICK DR: Second on my list of girls to flirt with is Amber. The difference between Amber and Daniele is that Amber is possibly a dirty girl.

Jen and Nick are laying on a hammock. Nick says he knew there would be attractive girls, but a girl like Jen who he could really feel comfy with. Jen’s giggling. [Didn’t she just say he wasn’t that cute, and she didn’t like muscles?]

JEN DR: Jen says she has a little bit of feelings for him.

Nick is in the hot tub and carol is laying out. Carol is talking about the girls all talking about Nick flirting with them. He says he thinks they are all attractive. Carol says in a funny voice, “Yeah, which one’s gonna be the lucky girl?” Nick says, “Or boy. Question mark!”

Now we come to Nick and Daniele, they’re sitting in bed together. Jen is looking on, jealous. She’s pissed.

Jen is out in the kitchen talking to Jessica Carol and Joe. She is talking about Nick. She says she feels bad for Daniele’s boyfriend. Carol thinks Nick wants her bad. Jen says “He tried with me but I wouldn’t let him.” [as in, he tried to kiss/make out with her but she denied him.]

Joe goes and tells Nick. Nick is livid. He walks out of the bedroom, meanwhile Daniele is laughing. He comes into the kitchen. Dun, dun, dun.

Nick – [to Jen] So I tried to make out with you?
Jen- that’s now what I said
Nick – uh oh
Joe – yeah you kind of did Jen
Nick – what the f*** are you talking about? When did I try to kiss you on the mouth? I hate liars. When did I try to kiss you on the mouth?
Jen – I’m not, don’t-
Nick – Don’t what? You’re the one whose telling people that I tried to kiss you on the mouth

DR: Nick’s mad that it was just a blatant lie.

Nick – I swear on my life
Jameka – don’t do this
Nick – I know for a fact that I didn’t. I just hate people who lie.
Jen – so you’re saying you didn’t
Nick – no. are you saying I did?
Jen – yeah
Nick – wow. You’re clueless.
Jen – okay thanks.

JOE DR – Jen is a liar. Jen lives in her own freaking world. She is Jen-uinely freaking insane.

Joe – why would you say that Jen?
Jen – cause he did.

-commercial break

We get back and its more Jen/Nick drama. Nick decides to talk to her in the storage room. She tells him she’s sorry. It makes her sad to see him with Daniele. She’s jealous. Nick says, “I’m not kissing her. I’m not holding her hand and skipping to my lou.” They hug and make up.

DR NICK: it made him uncomfortable that she was going to make up a lie and then want to be his friend again. So he threw up a front and said he wasn’t upset.

Now Nick is talking to the rest of the house about the incident. He retells the scene to everybody and they laugh. Everybody is annoyed with Jen. Dick is glad that it isn’t only him that can’t stand her. They talk about how they are sick with all of the shirts that she made. They realize her name is Jen. They get it.

Up in the HOH bedroom Amber and Kail are talking about the veto. Amber tells Kail that she wants Jen on the block against her if Carol wins the veto. Kail says she could do that.

Mike and Kail are talking in HOH. Kail wants Carol gone because she thinks Carol will hold it against her, but Amber won’t. They discuss putting Joe up on the block.

Amber is in her room talking to God. She wants him to make her strong and help her win the veto. She wants him to help her keep her heart in this. Help her through this, that’s all.

Veto Competition time. The HG’s playing in the veto competition are: Kail, Amber, Carol, Daniele, Nick, and Jemeka. Jessica will be the host. Everybody else is sent upstairs in the HOH room.

The veto competition is called Hide and Seek Veto. Each houseguest playing in the competition will one at a time hide their veto box somewhere inside the house. They are in isolation booths so they can’t see who is hiding the veto box where.

Daniele hides her veto inside the bucket of slop in the refrigerator. Carol hides hers inside the two mattresses in Dick’s round bed. Amber hide’s her veto in a pillowcase. Nick hide’s his veto underneath a bed mattress. Kail hides hers in the box of teabags. Jameka hides her veto in her hair extension bag.

Each person will enter the house, one at a time. They will have one minute to find a veto in the house. The game will continue until 5 of the 6 vetoes have been found. The person who’s veto is still hidden in the house at the end will win the competition.

Meanwhile up in the HOH bedroom, Dick is annoyed locked in a room with Jen.

The competitors are searching near and far for the vetoes. Carol finds the first one, in a pillow case. Nick says he was trying to be considerate and try not to tear it apart. Kail tears through the bedrooms and ruins everything. She’s happy she’s in HOH because the rest of the house will be trashed.

Up in the HOH Jen and Dick are in an argument. He’s mad about the food competition when she wouldn’t let him touch her. It got a little ugly.

Jameka finds a veto. She finds one slid between two mattresses in the bed. Nick finds one as well. There are only two left at this point. Kail’s still tearing through the hosue like a maniac. She even goes through Jameka’s dirty clothes. And Jameka is mad. Daniele finds the last veto, in a box of tea packages.

Back to Jessica. She reveals the vetoes that were found. The first veto found was Amber’s. Next, was Nick’s. Followed by Carol. Jameka’s veto was found 4^th. And Kail’s veto was found by Daniele. So, the winner of the veto competition was Daniele!

Dick is proud of Daniele for doing well in the competition.

Now, Daniele and Amber are talking about Jen. They think she has a crush on Nick and they both want her out of the house.

It’s time for the America’s Player. Eric must tell a traumatic story from his past to Kail. He tells her about a girlfriend he once had that was severely anorexic. He even shed some tears, thanks to the contact solution which he dropped in his eyes. She thinks he is a very sensitive guy. He’s cracking up in the DR.

Now Joe and Dustin are at it again. They are being somewhat nice to each other. Dustin says he’s sorry for some things. They are trying to be civil so they won’t get voted out.

Daniele and Joe and Nick are in the hammock. About Jen. None of them like her. Daniele says she should use the veto tomorrow.

It is time for the veto ceremony. Carol says she’s not ready to go home. And Amber says she deserves to be taken off the block because her journey has been amazing and she’s enjoying her time and she wants to continue on. Daniele makes her speech, and decides that she will not use the veto. So both women are still on the block.

Episode Recap: Week 1, Episode 2

Here we go with the recap for episode 2 of Big Brother 8. As you will see, I've made extreme progress in condensing the recap so it's not so long. This time, it's 2000 words instead of 3000. [snickers] Anyways, enjoy. And please comment if you can! Thanks!

Previously on Big Brother 8: 11 strangers moved into the Big Brother House and began to size each other up. Julie revealed the shocking twist that 6 of the houseguests would be living with people from their pasts. At the HOH competition Kail spun her way to victory. The houseguests were shocked to find out they would be sleeping with their enemies. It was more than they could handle. Can the enemies put their past behind them? Or will it lead them to their demise. Plus find out who Kail nominates for eviction. And give America’s Player their very first task! It all happens tonight on Big Brother 8.

-Opening credits roll.

We open the show with a review of the enemies walking into the room again. We see the diary rooms of the six enemies.

Daniele runs into the bathroom, brought to tears. She thinks Dick will try to make her life miserable, and Jemeka felt sorry. She told her Dick wouldn’t be their long if Daniele didn’t want him there. Kail and Carol also comfort her. Daniele goes on to say that her family was her grandparents. Dick wasn’t a father figure to her. She talks about how they hadn’t talked for two years.

Dick comes in to talk to Daniele. He says it will be tough for both of them, and that he doesn’t know what is going to happen. But it’s important and he hopes it’s going to be fixed. She tells him that everybody thinks she’s going to be 22 in August, rather than 21. He says she looks like she’s lost a lot of weight in her face. She says she’s fine. He says he misses her a lot. She says it’s a lot harder than she thought it would be, and starts to cry again. Dick says they have to be cordial with each other, and take it as it goes. DR: Daniele says it can’t just be fixed right away. DR: Dick says he won’t use or lie to his daughter because it’s not fun and games. It’s his life. He starts to cry. He wants to give Daniele a hug but she doesn’t want one.

Now we cut to Joe and Dustin, in the big bedroom. Joe tells Dustin that he’s going to get voted out as soon as possible. He says he didn’t want to entertain the rest of the HG’s with bitter bullshit about Dustin. Dustin says that he already did, and EVERYBODY heard it. Joe says it’s the truth and that’s how it is. Dustin asks Joe if he mentioned that he slept with Dustin’s friend to get back at him. Joe says he didn’t do it to get back at him. Dustin says the things that Joe did to him haunted him for the past year. Joe tells Dustin to get out of his face and asks if he needs to make any clearer. Dustin leaves. DR: Joe says Dustin being there screws up his gameplan.

Then Joe goes into the living room where a bunch of the houseguests are seated and brings up the forbidden G-Bomb topic AGAIN! Let’s play the “Guess how many times Joe will say gonorrhea in a Big Brother season?” game. He tells the story AGAIN, articulating the word ‘gon-orr-he-a.’ The others don’t know what to say. Dustin, in another room, tells Daniele that he was on vacation when Joe got his test results back. Daniele says it’s been a LONG crazy day.

Cut to Carol and Jessica talking about the enemies. Carol says the father daughter thing is DRASTIC, and the scorned lovers thing is drastic, and then their fight in eight grade, STUPID. In the diary room, Carol says she is way different than she was in high school. They talk and say they can use the ‘enemies’ thing to their advantage.

Now we cut to a recap of Kail being crowned the first HOH. She says she came into the house thinking she was going to fly under the radar, but she ended up with the first HOH. Jameka is afraid she’d be a target because she came in second place.

Time to see Kail’s HOH room. It is a streamline blue and red theme. We see pictures of her husband and kids. Amber was happy for Kail. She thinks that she and Kail share a common bond because they are both mothers. Daniele says she was thinking of who her pictures would be of if she won HOH. She says they would be of her boyfriend, dog, and her best friend and grandma. That is her family.

Now, we find out that the house photos have arrived. Jen is FREAKED out because she thinks her picture is bad. “That’s got to be a joke,” she says. She’s mad. “Look at my eyes. That’s the ugliest picture I’ve ever seen. Take me off of this board. I’m gonna cry. That’s awful.” In the diary room, Jen is bawling. Going on that her picture is horrible.

JESSICA DR: Oh my god! Jen started crying when she saw her picture. She made way too big of a deal over that.
JEN DR: Everyone else’s looks really good and mine looks like horrible.

Jen says she’s going to stand there with her hand over her picture until they take it off of the wall. It’s horrible. She wants to rip it off.

JOE DR: I didn’t get it at first I thought she was joking. Her are tears just streaming down her face, as if somebody had died or something. I love my photo by the way.

Jen says it is really bad lighting, and a really bad angle and really bad lighting and there are bags on her face that aren’t even hers. She’s freaking out because everybody is seeing at home. So she puts an oven mitt over the top of her picture. [Jen, you're freaking out because people at home are seeing your picture. But what they're really seeing is you bawling over something so ridiculous. DUH!]

We go through a segment of Dick dropping celebrity names. Daniele says its annoying and he always does it. We see him talking about tons of different celebs that he knows, in different clips. He says that Oprah hates gum. He met Bam Margela from Jackass. [You mean Bam MARGERA, dick?]

Next we cut to a clip of Amber, Carol, and Dustin on the hammock. Amber tells her life story. Her mom was a single mother her whole life. Amber takes care of 6 people. She starts to cry. She wants to win this for her daughter and her mom. She’s bawling as she tells the story.

Cut to Kail up in the HOH bedroom. She and Mike want to make an alliance. Mike is willing to give her his word. Kail and Mike want to make an alliance with Mike, Zach, and Nick. They talk to Zach about it first. He agrees. He thinks Kail will be a good person to align with. They shake hands, to the final four. Kail tries to talk to Nick. Nick is in. He was happy. He calls it “Mrs. Robinson and her three boys.”

Food competition time. The HG’s will split up into teams of 2. The set up of the game is big butter pumps. The task is that the teams have to transport their butter from the pumps to their bucket of popcorn, using only their bodies. The task is called “Butter Me Up!” The teams get ready to go. The blue team is filled with big bodied men and a few girls. They red team is filled with long haired girls and a few guys.

Before the competition begins, Jen complains that she doesn’t want Dick rubbing butter off of her body. He takes offense to that. He says it’s fun and games its not like he is looking at her.

The teams have ten minutes. They start pumping and transporting their butter. Dustin thinks the butter feels like a splat of vomit. Jameka says everybody looked disgusting. Mike thought people looked sexy in the butter. It was like watching Baywatch for him. The blue team realizes that it is a lot better for the red team to use their girls hair. When all the blue team has is big guys.

JESS DR: You can carry a lot more butter in your hair than on your big MUSCLEY body.

The competition ends. Blue team gets 37 pounds of butter. The red team collected 77 pounds. Red team wins. Blue is on SLOP!

The blue team tries out the slop. Jameka likes oat meal, but hates slop. Jessica says that slop tastes “oat-ey.” Daniele says it is disgusting. Eric says its grainy and chewy and disgusting.

JAMEKA, JESSICA, ERIC, DANIELE, and SLOP in DR: Jameka: I don’t know what company produces this. But it is illegal in many countries.

Back to Dustin and Joe. Hammock. They fight again. Joe wants this to be his time, not 'their' time. Guess what G word comes up? Not gorilla. Joe says Dustin lies and is a bad person and all he did was make Joe feel pretty. Joe says he made Dustin who he is today. They aren’t happy with each other. Are you surprised?

Dick tries to talk to Daniele. He says he’s worried about her. She doesn’t talk. He says the house is cool. He feels like he’s never walked into a group of people and had so many people not like him. She tells him he’s coming on too strong to people. And that he needs to relax a little. They start talking game. He says he thinks it’s going to be divided by sexes.

DR: Dick says he’d die for his daughter without thought. He’d do anything for her.
DR: Daniele says relationship wise she’s not sure. But they have each other’s back in the game.

In the HOH room Kail gets to make her decision for who to nominate. She and Mike talk about it. Mike tells her to nominate people who didn’t perform well. Kail says she could put up Joe. But she doesn’t know. She doesn’t think it is a great idea to win HOH the first week.

Time for America’s Player! Eric is a clown. The HG’s think he is fun. Our America’s task for this week is that Eric has to make up a sob story and get one of the houseguests to believe it. America’s job is to vote on who he should tell the sob story too. [VOTING FOR AP IS ALREADY OVER. ERIC HAS ALREADY COMPLETED HIS TASK.]

It’s nomination time. Jen is scared about being nominated. Joe thinks he has a target on his back because Dustin is there. Dick is concerned that Daniele will be put on the block. Kail says the decision is very hard to make. Nick is confident that he won’t be nominated.

Here we go. Kail opens up with the fact that this is the Nomination Ceremony. Blah blah blah. Dustin, Jessica, and Dick get their keys. First key to be pulled is Eric. Next, Joe. Then, Zach. Followed by, Daniele. After that, is Jen. Next, Mike. Then, Jameka. And finally, Nick. Which leaves: Carol and Amber are put up for eviction.

Kail says she nominated Amber and Carol for eviction because she based her decision on performance in the HOH competition. Carol and Amber were out first, so that is how she based her vote.

DR: Carol isn’t angry, she knows that somebody has to be the first to go.
DR: Amber is sad because she thought that she and Kail shared a bond because they are both mothers.

What will happen next? Who will win the POV? And will they use it to save one of the nominees? And will Eric complete his task as AP?

Episode Discussion - 7/8

My recap will be later, because alot of stuff was shown and I'll need to go back and rewatch some of it, so for now I'm just going to post the episode discussion for everyone to discuss what they thought. Remember, this is an GENERAL EPISODE DISCUSSION(not a certain houseguest discussion, I'll leave that up to you to post about a houseguest in paticular), and is still considered spoilers for you on the west coast. That means that if you haven't seen the episode and don't want to be spoiled, then don't read the comments yet. ;)

SPOILERS! Veto winner

I figured I would wait for the veto ceremony to happen and combine both spoilers in one, but that could be tomorrow and that's just too long. So... the winner of this weeks Veto competition is under the cut. =]

And the winner is....

Daniele. =]=]

This means she has the power to take off one of the two nominees from the chopping block and Kail will be forced to replace her with a new houseguest. Both Kail and Daniele are safe from eviction this week.

Here I go with my first recap of the season. I can't say it went fast. In fact, it took me forever. I'm extremely long winded when it comes to recapping. I feel the constant need to add every detail in. It's 8 pages in Microsoft Word and over 3000 words. Whoo. So that is good for readers. But bad for me cause it takes me so long. So let's hope a bunch of people read this. Otherwise I'll be shortening the recap, extensively.

Anyways, because it's so long, I'll post the first part here. Then I'll put the rest in an LJ cut. That way the whole page isn't taken up by my post.

Big Brother - Season Premiere Recap

We start off with Julie Chen, looking noticeably thinner than last season, in a red dress. "Good evening, I'm Julie Chen. Tonight 14 houseguests will embark on the journey of a lifetime. Each with the dream of walking away with the half million dollar grand prize. But for some, that dream will take an unexpected turn. Before this hour is over, the houseguests will learn that some of them will be sharing the Big Brother house with a rival, enemy, or someone with whom they have unfinished business. How will this news affect the game? Can the houseguests use this twist to their advantage, or will it be more than they can handle? We'll soon find out. But first, let's take a look at the new houseguests. Just a few days ago, they were each surprised when they received their key to the Big Brother house," says Chen. [Just 3 minutes into the season and we've already heard a "But First" from the host. oh dear]

We cut to clips of the houseguests receiving their keys to the house. First, we've got Jessica, in a weight room jumping up and down hugging her dancer friends. Nick, fishing, and hooks a key to the house. And Eric, grabbing his key out of an ice chest.

Jessica says, "I'm Jessica. And the only person I'll be cheering for, is myself."
Nick says, "I'm Nick. And I'm gonna use this body for bait."
Eric lets out a 'woo hoo' then says, "I'm Eric. And no one's ever played this game like me before.

Next up, Danielle receives her key while at the beach. Dick gets his while at his drum set. And Mike and Jen get theirs at their houses.

Danielle says, "I'm Danielle. And don't underestimate this California girl."
Dick says, "I'm Evel Dick. And the house isn't gonna know what hit em."
Jen says, "I'm Jen. And my body isn't my only asset."
Mike says, "I'm Mike. And I'm gonna paint the rest of the houseguests out of the picture."

They show them packing. Jen says that she'll die if people there smoke. Dick's son asks him if he has enough cigarettes.

Next up are Kail, Joe, and Carol.

Kail - "I'm Kail. And my family runs this little town, just like I'm gonna run the Big Brother house."
Joe - "I'm Joe. I'm gonna blow away the competition."
Carol - "Hi, I'm Carol. This senator's daughter knows a thing or two about politics."

Then comes a teary eyed Amber, Zach, Dustin, and Jameka.

Amber introduces herself. "I'm Amber. I'm a single mom from Vegas. And I'm gonna show you how this game should really be played."
Zach is happy. "I'm Zach. And I'm gonna outthink the competition."
Dustin doesn't think it's for real at first. "I'm Dustin. And I'm gonna walk all over the competition."
Jameka does cartwheels. "I'm Jameka. I'm a very sweet person. But don't get on my bad side. You'll regret it."

The contestants say good bye to their family, friends, and pets.

Then we cut back to Julie, and she says it's time for the HG's to meet each other. 11 of the houseguests come out to enter the BB house. Jessica, Dustin, and Dick are not present.

Chen goes on to say, "This is the first time these houseguests have laid eyes on each other. They are not allowed to talk one another until they are inside the Big Brother house."

"Welcome Houseguests, I'm Julie. Check out the men and women around you. You’ll be getting to know them very well over the next three months. Among them, you could find a new best friend. Or not. But remember, ultimately each of you is on your own. This is, above all, a competition. A demanding summer long power-struggle with only winner. When you enter the house, you will only have one minute to choose a bed by placing your bag on it. Make your choice quickly, but carefully. Because several of you will not only be housemates, but also bedmates. You will enter in three groups chosen at random."

Group 1 is Carol, Joe, Mike, and Amber.
They find a bedroom with oversized beds and furnishings.

Nick, Daniele, and Jameka are group two.
They enter a bed with tiny beds and furnishings. The beds are 5 ft. Nick is 6'2''. He's thinking that it will hinder his chances if he's looking to invite a girl to his bed.

DR: Amber thinks Nick is really attractive. According to her, "There's like sparks there."

Group 3 is Kail, Jen, Eric, and Zach.
They also get the teeny room.

DR: Eric thinks it's comical that all the tall men in the house have to sleep in small beds. [Eric's 5'7"]
DR: Jen doesn't think any of the guys are attractive. Almost attractive, but not.

Carol is the first to discover that the house theme is Alice in Wonderland.

The houseguests decide to take a seat and introduce themselves.

-Amber is a 27 year old cocktail waitress from Las Vegas.
-Carol is 21. She assumes she is the youngest in the house. She is a student and will be a senior at the University of Kansas.
-Danielle tells everyone that she is 21 from Orange County. She's 20. She'll turn 21 in two months. She didn't want to be known as the one person who was underage.

DR: Zach thinks the women in the house are really hot. But if he had to choose meeting girls or playing the game, he'd choose the game.

-Jen starts to tell about herself. She's long winded, we can see. "So I'm Jen. I don't even know what I do, what do I do. I'm like the fun nanny. They're like awesome kids, they're 10 and 13. I'm an estate manager for an estate in Beverly Hills. It's really fun."

DR: Nick thinks Jen has got a kicking body.

-Jen continues, "And of course since I live in LA I do modeling and acting and hosting, as always. Everyone does..."

-DR: Carol finds Jen annoying simply because she doesn't feel like she's a person of substance. Because of her "enormous giant boobs." [I'm annoyed too, Carol. just because she talks so much.]

-Jen is 23
-Kail introduces herself as a real estate agent.

DR: Back home, half the town works for her. Kail doesn't want the others to know that she's a multi-business owner because then people will already think she has enough money.

-Kail is just shy of 38. She has 3 teenagers.
-Amber mentions she has a little girl. In the diary room she says she plans to win it for her daughter.
-Eric says he's 27 even though he doesn't look a day over 18. And he's from New York. He is an assistant in advertising and marketing.
-Joe is from Chicago, Illinois. He talks about being a receptionist in a children's hair salon.

DR: Kail says she'd be heartbroken if her children ever told her they'd chosen a gay lifestyle

-Mike is a painting contractor.
-Nick is 25 from Minnesota. [Have I mentioned I love Minnesota accents?]

DR: Joe thinks Nick is the most gorgeous. Great hair and he cares about his body.

-Zach is a graphic designer.
-Jameka is 27 and is from Maryland.

DR: Jameka's not used to being around all these white people. She says she felt out of her element.

The houseguests toast to the summer ahead.
-

We cut to Julie who tells us that the houseguests are starting to feel at ease with each other. But they wouldn't feel so comfortable if they knew that there were three others in this house.

-
Commercial break.
-
Julie tells us that earlier that day, three other houseguests moved into the house. They are upstairs. Cut to Dustin, Jessica, and Dick.

Chen tells the three that each of them will be spending the summer with somebody from their past. The last person you'd ever want to see in the house. She lets them know that the other hg's don't know they are there. And these three are going to get to watch their every move without them knowing.

We find out that Joe is Dustin's ex. Dustin says Joe is very manipulative, and has gigantic nipples.

Jessica sees Carol and says, "Oh my Gooooooooooooood. That's mine."

Daniele is Dick's daughter. "Oh there's my daughter. My daughter that hasn't talked to me in two years." Dick says it's a matter of her not talking to him. Jessica suggests that maybe it will be good for them.

Dustin says the beef between Joe and he is bad. According to Dustin, Joe slept with his best friend." He thinks Joe's going to smile some smirky sociopathic smile when he sees Dustin.

Back downstairs, they are talking about pet peeves. Joe says his pet peeve is straight people.

Okay, this is good:
Dustin: so you guy's haven't spoken in years?

Jessica: no, she owed me 5 dollars one time

Dick: 5 dollars? No wonder

Jessica: well when you're 14, 5 dollars, you know.

Jessica: I cannot stand her. We're from the same small town. She talked a lot of smack and I'm just not into that.

The guys kinda make fun of her for that. She says they just went their separate ways.

Then Jessica sees Carol with a ring on her finger. "Is she engaged?" Then Dick tells her it's on her right hand. Jessica says good because she is "Nawt loyal!"

Cut to rest of HG's

Julie asks how they are, and tells them that there are three others in the house, watching their every move. And, she tells them that their first HOH competition will take place soon. And, "it's gonna be a fun one."

The houseguests talk about it. Danielle thinks there's a set of older people in the house. Eric thinks it's gonna be something creepy. Carol has no idea what's up.

Back from Commercial. It's time for the first HOH competition. The yard is decked out, Alice in Wonderland style with giant mushrooms and fantasy land stuff. We find out that only the 11 houseguests are able to play. But Jessica, Dick, and Dustin are still watching.

Houseguests have 30 seconds to choose a partner and stand in front of a mushroom. The person who doesn't get a partner can't compete. Nick ends up the lone HG with no partner.

So the houseguests get situated. One partner is seated on a mushroom, the other on a stump. Houseguests seated on the stumps must answer true or false questions about the houseguests. Every incorrect answer by a HG will cause their partners mushroom to spin faster and faster. The last pair still on the mushroom wins the competition. And one of them will become the HOH.

The pairs are as follows: [first houseguest listed is on mushroom, 2nd is answering questions.]

Joe and Jameka
Carol and Amber
Kail and Eric
Mike and Daniele
Zach and Jen.

Meanwhile, the three isolated houseguests are watching. Dick says he'll be really upset if his daughter gets HOH.

So back at the HOH competition, Julie tells everyone they have to kneel on the mushrooms. Weirdest position ever if you ask me. The mushrooms start to spin slowly.

DR: Eric has every intention to throw the competition.

Now for the questions:
Question 1: T or F: At least 5 of the HG's have admitted to having cosmetic surgery.
ANSWER: FALSE; only 2 admitted to it

Amber gets the question wrong and Carol starts to spin. Upstairs, Jessica shouts: "Yay Amber!!"

Question 2: T or F: More than half of the HG's said they'd give up their best friendship for 500,000 dollars.
ANSWER: FALSE; only 4 said that.

DR: Mike says he was one of them who said they'd give it up.

Jameka and Amber get it wrong, causing Joe and Carol to spin faster.

DR: Joe says he was in pain from sitting like that. He's "not incredibly flexible in his nether regions."

Question 3: T or F: more than 2 of the HG's said they wouldn't give up their seat to a pregnant lady on a bus.
ANSWER: FALSE; 1

Jen got it wrong: Zach spins faster.

DR: Eric was going out of his way to get the answers wrong. And he got them right.

Question 4: T or F: More than 3 of the HG's admitted they are members of the mile high club
ANSWER: False; 1

Jameka got it wrong.

The spinning houseguests are squirted with a brown mud looking substance. This causes an eruption of laughter among the three upstairs.

Question 5: T or F: more than half of the HG's said they would have no problem starting a malicious rumor about someone.
ANSWER: TRUE

Amber, Eric, and Jen answered incorrectly.
Carol's going about full speed. She falls off the mushroom.
Zach falls off too.

There are no more questions but the HG's mushrooms will continue to spin faster. [Why are there no more questions? Only 5 questions? What a crock.]

The remaining HG's are coated with flour, or something. Laughter ensues once again from Dick.
The three remaining pairs are: Mike and Daniele, Kail and Eric, and Joe and Jameka.

Mike slips off. He actually looked like he was trying to stay on, unlike some of them. J
Joe falls off, which means that Kail and Eric win the competition.

Now we find out that it is up to the three houseguests up to the three houseguests upstairs to decide whether the first HOH will be Kail or Eric. They choose Kail because she did all the work, so she becomes the first HOH off BB8. Eric is happy about this. He doesn't want to go anywhere near the head of household.

We find out that the isolated houseguests are safe from eviction for the first week because they were not allowed to compete in the competition.

We find out that Kail was the one who wouldn't give up her seat on a bus for a pregnant lady because she was pregnant three times and nobody ever gave up their seat for her.

DR: Kail says it will be very stressful and difficult to pick from the original 11 because she likes them all.

DR: Mike said it made him nervous to find out that the three upstairs were immune from the first eviction.

DR: Daniele doesn't know what to think of Kail as the first HOH because she doesn't know what she is going to do.

DR: Nick says he doesn't trust anybody.

Commercial time...

The houseguests are seated in the living room and Chen pops onto the screen. She tells them it's time to find out who the other three houseguests are. "Expect the unexpected," she says. She tells them some of them will be sleeping with their enemies.

Daniele definitely looks the most disturbed by the twist. She knows something is up.

Joe thinks he knows his enemy is there. "I do and I think I know who it is. This is gonna be my ex-boyfriend, Dustin. I don't freaking trust him. Here's my quick 30 second story. Somehow, I immaculately conceive gonorrhea."

Dustin freaks out upstairs. "WHAT!? OH MY GOD. It was negative you asshole."

Joe, "I don't know from where. Somehow, I didn't cheat. I didn't get it. But somehow, I had gonorrhea. My boyfriend swears he didn't cheat. Swears he didn't cheat to this day he swears he did not cheat."

Upstairs, Dustin is flabbergasted. Dick asks, "Is he forgetting that you're watching?"

DR: Jessica, "Oh my god, way to air your dirty laundry. I mean first night in the house and you're dropping gonorrhea? Not only about Dustin. But about yourself. I was completely grossed out."

Back to Joe. "I destroyed his entire life. I went through and annihilated all his friendships. I've done horrible things to this guy."

DR: Carol thinks Joe will be very unpleasant to be around, and that all hell will break loose.

DR: Kail is scared someone is going to come into the house that knows her and will spill the fact that she owns half her town.

DR: Carol doesn't think she won't have a rival because she has like one from 7th grade.

DR: Daniele thinks it will be her dad coming in. But she doesn't want anybody to know.

Joe wants to make an 'original 11' pact.

Now, it's time to say hello to the new housemates.

Jessica walks out the door. Carol starts laughing. "I'm Jessica. Hi!"
Dick walks out. "We've been wanting to come and play. Hello, Daniele. Daniele's my daughter. And Daniele hasn't talked to me in 2 years."
Dustin walks in, "Hi guys, I'm Dustin." He shakes people's hands. Joe completely ignores him.

Daniele exits the room. She starts crying. Jameka and Carol try to comfort her.

This is going to be a crazy and interesting summer.

Now Julie introduces America's Player.

She announces that the AP will follow our instructions and earn 10,000 bucks for every 5 tasks completed. "Everything from who to get out of the house, to who to make out with in the house."

It's time to meet America's Player.

dun. dun. dun....

Eric.

Eric says, "Well it looks like I'm going to be America's Player. Welcome to reality tv's first alliance of 10 million. I couldn't be more excited. We're gonna pull of reality tv history. We're gonna win this thing. I'm gonna do this for the online bloggers. The live feed watchers. And everyone sitting on their couch whose saying, 'What a bunch of idiots.' you guys are going to be in full control of my destiny in this house. You’re going to be able to tell me who to vote for, who to target for eviction, your wish is my command. I'm here to give you guys what you want. I hope America realizes this is a chance to be the stars of this show and send everybody else packing. I'm the quintessential Big Brother player, got the brains, got the cutthroat skills. We're going to have some fun. We're gonna bring it home America."

Back to Julie.

We will give directions to Eric every episode this summer, starting on Sunday. We give the directions and he must follow them.

The power is in our hands.

Well here is our first episode discussion. Again, only moderators of the community (myself and Michaela) can post episode discussions and our personal recaps. Sometimes I will post a recap, sometimes Michaela will, sometimes we both will. And one of us will post the episode discussion in our recap post. For instance, tonight I've posted my recap in this post, along with the episode discussion which contains all of my thoughts. From here you can discuss the episode! If you want to give news, info, or opinions on a certain houseguest, and not on the whole episode, then post an entry with "Houseguest: (insert houseguest name here), " as the tag. Also, a quick reminder, entries without tags will not be approved. I'm sorry. Entries without a tag will stay in the queue until the next episode airs. If a tag is not placed on them by that time, they will be rejected. The list of possible tags are in the community info.

So, this episode discussion will be in a livejournal cut because it's still considered spoilers at the moment for the west coast. Many of them will be like this. We'll give our personal recaps and opinions and you can go from there with your own! Feel free to disagree, everyone has their own opinions, just remember to be respectful to other members so you wont be banned.

So this premiere started off as most have. We got a little info on the houseguests, saw little video snippets of them, watched as they entered the house, checked eachother out, and claimed there beds. Only list time, three houseguests (Jessica, Dick, and Dustin) watched them from the HoH room... the other houseguests were not aware that they were there. However, Daniele, Joe, and others noticed there were only 11 houseguests so far. They all went around and met eachother, sharing bits of their lives that they chose to tell. Kail chose not to tell everyone that she's a mulibuisness owner who pretty much runs the town. I wouldn't either. Jen claimed that none of the guys were attractice. Nick claimed that the girls were hot and he'd have them all over him. Eric noticed how all the guys are over 6 feet but him... coming in at a solid 5' 7".

Up in HoH, we have Dick who is Daniele's estranged father. Then we have Jessica, who is an old high school enemy of Carols. She claimed that they fought alot, and Carol owed her a whole five dollars! EEK! Then we have Dustin, who is Joe's ex-boyfriend. Looks like Joe slept with one of Dustin's friends and turned all of his friends against him. More on that later.

HoH went down, with the three enemies still up watching. Five teams of two... one houseguest answering true or false questions, the other on a spinning mushroom trying not to fall off. Nick didn't get picked to be a partner, so he didn't compete. Amber missed alot of questions... and Jessica made sure the two guys knew it, causing Carol to start spinning pretty quick. She went out early. Along with Zach, who had Jen as his partner. Daniele teamed up with Mike, and didn't miss any questions, but Mike fell off third. Eric tried to throw the competition... with Kail as his partner but remained in the final two, along with Jameka answering questions for her partner Joe. Joe eventually fell off leaving Kail and Eric. It was then announced that the three houseguests upstairs were immune this week, and would decide who has HoH. They went with Kail... the new HoH. Now she not only runs a town but the BB house too!

Back to the living room now... and the enemies are coming. Joe announced he knows that his enemy would be his ex boyfriend Dustin... and even decided to mention that he got a STD from him. Dustin was very livid. Jessica was still angry and talking bad about Carol, although their real reason for fighting. Carol thought she doesnt have an emeny. Jameka mentioned that she might... an old roommate. Daniele knew that if she had an enemy coming in, it would be her father Dick, but she decided to stay quiet about that. In comes Jessica, smiling and waving. Carol didn't give that great of a reaction, but she sure wasn't happy to see her. Dick came in... saying hello to her, and then mentioned to everyone that she is his daughter and hasn't spoken to him in two years. Dustin came in, about as flamboyant as Joe, and Joe was pretty angry. Dustin went around shaking hands, but Joe refused. The loud, outspoken Joe was suddenly very quiet. Daniele stood up and left for the bathroom, grabbing some tissues, obviously very upset over seeing her estranged father. She was comforted by Jameka and Carol who stated that if Daniele didn't want him here for long, then he wouldn't be here for long.

We were also informed on America's Player. IT'S ERIC! He will get commands from America... sending in their commands online and in text messages. For every five tasks that he completes, he recieves money money money. He stated that this is the biggest alliance ever, and will make Big Brother history. Well we will see. Hope he doesn't go out in a week... what a bust that twist would be. And there you have it... the BB8 premiere!

My thoughts on everyone...

Amber - Umm.. who is that again? Lol..she didn't really play a big part. She mentioned she has a daughter and will win for her... we'll see. I don't really have much of an opinion about her... except that she looks like an actress but I can't quite pinpoint who.

Carol - Melodramatics here we come. She seems nice, I think I could like her. I hope she doesn't get into petty drama with Jessica... because I really don't see what the big problem was between them.

Daniele - Wow, I really like her. She seems like a really sweet girl, but the claws can come out. I'm totally on her side of this family mess. I really don't like Dick, and I felt so bad for her the second that she saw him. Seemed like she wanted to come here, play the game and have a good time... not get into problems with her Dad. I hope they can work it out, I'd hate for her to be miserable. She's also the youngest... I mean, she's only 20 and she has to go through that... on national television! I think she was correct in lying about her age to everyone... although I don't know how BB is gonna handle it. Will she get to drink when the booze comes out? Looks like BB made an exception for her to come on... seeing as how she's Dick's daughter.

Dick - I very much dislike him. I think he's creepy and a little crazy... and he handled that all wrong. He could have came in and said hey Daniele, even this is my daughter... and left it at that. I hope he goes.

Dustin - Wow. I feel like I'm watching Jack and his boyfriends on Will and Grace! Eek. He was funny... I guess. I don't really have a problem with him. I see lots of entertainment from him.

Eric - He's kinda geeky, and a little crazy, but I'm sure he will provide us with some entertainment. Better get to doing our commands buddy.

Jameka - Hmm, not really much of an opinion here either. She had some good oneliners... laughed at those. Not really much going on with her yet though.

Jen - Oh god. The classic "I'm too good for these guys" girl. Kick the snobby act and she'd probably be good. I wonder how her game will be though... considering she was supposedly coached by Will and Boogie before coming into the game. We'll see about her later.

Jessica - Aw I really wanted to like her. Reading her Q&A at CBS, we have alot of the same interests and I figured I would like her... but she was really stuck up and yes, she has a Holly-like annoying voice. I think if she would also drop the snobby act, I could like her. Don't take it over the top girls... they don't last long. We'll see about her too.

Joe - Well I really liked him the first half, he was really funny and could have provided with good entertainment, but the whole Dustin thing was craziness. Seriously, no need to mention the gonorrhea or amny of the other stuff that was said. Seriously. Thats their own personal business.

Kail - Please... don't try to be the mother of the house. It wont work. She's already in the bad postion of being the first HoH, I can see it now. She's going to try to control and run the house, and people do not like that. Remember lady, you don't get to compete next week!

Mike - Umm, did we see anything of him?! Seriously. The guys talked about their height and the small beds, he gave a tinsy bit of info in the group circle... but that was it. He wasn't involed with anything. Hmm. I need some info before I have an opinion.

Nick - Wow, he looks ALOT like Chris Lowell... with abs. I almost called him Piz when we were watching it. Anyways... um, he's okay looking I guess... good body, but he's not THAT hot. I didn't see all the ladies falling at his feet for him. Then considering he wasn't picked in the HoH competition at all... yeah you need a new strategy buddy. Scamming the girls to win the show might not work, but we'll see.

Zach - Not much info on him either. He's kinda like Mike... he really wasn't that involed tonight. =[ More opinions on him later.

America's Player might be good. If we send in some good stuff, this twist might not completely blow! That'd be nice. =]

AND OMG... did anyone else catch the dig about WILL KIRBY! Hello, he could be the 15th houseguest! We've got lots of rumors and speculations about the so called phantom or 15th houseguest who will come in and have something to do with the game, well he was shown on the commercial and god that would be amazing if it was him! Of course, Janelle would have been my first pick, but Will was definitely my second. He's so funny and he would definitely bring a little more entertainment to the show this summer. I really hope he is! That'd be just awesome.

Anyways... I guess that's all I have to say. I think this season will be good, I'm really excited. Also, the BB After Dark thing starts on Showtime tonight. While I don't have Showtime, we usually get to watch shows (like Dead Like Me or Fat Actress) on there, just not movies. So I'm really hoping I get too.

A little moderator sidenote on the live feeds and the After Dark... you can post about that, but you MUST and I mean MUST have everything going on in the house under a livejournal cut, and your tag MUST contain 'Spoilers". Daniele and Dick... what do you think?

For anyone who hasn't heard about Daniele and Dick... apparently they are father and daughter.

"I haven't been a great dad. My daughter hasn't spoken to me for about a quarter of her life. Part her fault, part mine... but, yes... I am the adult, well now we both are, but point is made. We have, or she has always had a love hate relationship with me. I think she gets me, but she doesn't. Is that her fault? I am fucked up, how is she supposed to get that? How is she supposed to understand that? She has been an adolescent teenage girl, she is now 20, how am I supposed to get that?"

And Dingo at Hamster Watch says that it was confirmed by the son/brother and that their last name is Donato... same last name.

So if this is all in fact true and they are father and daughter they coming into the house together and have some very serious issues. Who knows, we might have another Mr and Mrs Smith, father/daughter style, on our hands. Pretend to hate eachother, form an alliance. They could solve all their issues, but what kind of drama would that be? Or, things might just get a little crazy. I wonder how it's all going to play out with them. What do you guys think?

As promised, more info on this years show and the houseguests. Hmm... anyone look familiar?

"And, in a nod to a past "Big Brother" theme in which players were surprised to find out that their ex-flames had been recruited, this year's cast will include a few pairs of players with unresolved beefs.

The biggest twist, however, is a game element called "America's Player." In a nutshell, that contestant will have the chance to win extra sums of money-- but only if they carry out certain actions mandated by viewers via internet or text message voting. Chosen player might be asked to vote somebody out of the house or something more personal, such as flirting with another player. Eye is hoping the twist will give viewers more of a stake in the outcome of the game, in the same way auds who watch "American Idol" get to shape that competition."
