Factory in Ohio

this is a leaf

the graffiti was one-color...but the light made it look like a gradient
no photoshop, this is just what it was. i didn't even crop it or anything

there was a tiny hole that light shone through...my star filter made it a star

man, they didn't even make it 5pm.

Every one of these is gorgeous. If I had money and saw them in a gallery, I'd buy them all. What sort of lens do you use?

wow, thank you! mostly I used my 50mm f/1.8 on my Canon 30D, but for the wide-angle shots I use my kit lens and bower wide-angle attachment :)

I agree!! Fantastic photographs, all of them. I especially love the shots with the green leaves coming through the shattered blue window. Love them.

Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Ohio seems to have some very nice abandonments.

Thanks!
And the forclosures really hit Cleveland hard, so it's got a lot of old factories that have become homes for the homeless, and a lot of abandoned homes now. No one puts money into them because they don't have it. So everything is just rotting. It's sad, but i'm not going to complain because i find them inspiring. :)

Are these up in larger versions somewhere? I'd *love* to use some of these as backgrounds. Absolutely gorgeous! Particularly love the ones with the underground abandoned industrial feel to them.

Thanks for sharing these!

Wow, these are all so beautiful.

My favorites are the up-close shots of the dodads. That pic of the Cleveland Brown Station thing (I think that's what it says) and that eagle top for some reason just really charm me.

Thank you! (yes, it's cleveland browns :D) My buddy that I go with sets up his tripod and takes a LOT of time in each area, so I always get bored and go around shooting macro stuff of the debris. I'm glad you like them! :)

I saved 19 of them for my own later viewing pleasure (don't worry, I won't spread them around) - would you mind if I made icons out of some of them (with photo credits to you of course)? The head and some of the windows practically crave to be icons :D
