I haven't been updating here recently because I'm working on a Supernatural Dean/Castiel fic. I know, I know, Unreckoned has only ever been loyal to me, but SPN was new and exciting and Cas is so shiny! I'm only human you know, I have needs. It seduced me, what else can I say?

HOPEFULLY I should be done with this fling in a few weeks... maybe another month, depending on how the p0rn goes... And then I will come grovelling back home. Forgive me?

And by the by. When I first started this fic with Reckoning Redux it was at the urging of my friend Bobster and all I cared about was getting the ideas in my head down on paper. Now, well, my style and quality of writing is starting to become more important to me. I know I'll never be the next Shakespeare, but I want this fic to be the best it can be, so if anyone reading ever sees something they think could have been phrased better or is written in a way that doesn't make sense to them, please please please point it out and suggest alternatives. I will listen. I will probably even change the part in question. The feedback so far has been amazing but I'm lacking in the critical department and without that element I'll just never learn! Okay! So, anyone who's been visiting the journal proper recently will have noticed a few changes happening :)

You remember how capnzebbie kindly gave Unreckoned a super xmas pressie of PAID ACCOUNT status, and I didn't know what do with it? Well, after my plea for help chosenfire28 and dhfreak got together and made a new layout, complete with header, poster and a whole set of icons (which I haven't uploaded yet actually, damn, gotta get on that...)!

I think it's fantastic! So a big round of applause to everyone involved, you guys are the best! W00t :D

But this is not simply a post telling you guys the way things are, no. unreckoned is very big on audience participation, so - please take a moment to stop by and tell me your thoughts about the new design. Tell me what you like and tell me what you don't like and, if you're saying the latter, tell me how to improve the place :) I'm a perfectionist at heart you see, so if anyone has a problem I want to know so I can make things the best they can be!

See, I post stuff using my personal LJ littlehollyleaf so I wouldn't know how to use the comm's icons or anything and... I'm a bit rubbish with graphics and stuff so I really have NO IDEA how to change the layout to something prettier. Some people may remember a time when the banner in the user info was in the journal proper. I moved it because I couldn't figure out how to get it to stay in position (the boxes with the posts kept overlapping it) - that's how clueless I am.

So, new project for anyone who's interested? Send me ideas for how to use this Paid Account status to the maximum and make the community extra prettiful!

Okay, since I now have 2 people actually interested in my proposition I'm going ahead and making it a real competition (because 2 is a completely respectable number for a competition, right? :p)

These are the rules:

1) Entries must be either the Nightmare Scene from Sneeze or the Bedroom Scene from Fade. You can provide an entry for both :p For the Nightmare Scene: You must include the snippets already mentioned in Sneeze snd there should be no actual sex (mental thoughts about it will be accepted). For the Bedroom Scene: Any and all sexual activities are allowed barring actual penetration (because Oracle is the boys first time, bless). Extra credit may be given for detailed descriptions of Lex's bedroom (because I need inspiration!)

2) There is no word limit, but try not to, you know, go over 60 pages or anything! They're only single scenes.

3) Completed entries must be e-mailed to me no later than the 31st January 2009.

I'll then post all the scenes I have in February and put them up to a vote. The scenes with the most votes will then become OFFICIAL UNRECKONED CANNON! W00t! :p

Merry Christmas one and all!

Okay kids. I'm going away for Christmas, and while I'm planning to take my shiny new Netbook with me (hee, netbook!) so I can keep writing over the holiday, it does mean no more updates til January now I'm afraid. At least one person expressed an interest in updates before Xmas, which is why I'm telling you this now to try and avoid too much disappointment.

I have an exciting proposition for you guys though that I hope will distract/keep you occupied until the story continues so let me know what you think:

See, much as I would like to, I cannot chronicle EVERY SINGLE MOMENT of every character's life during this story. I have neither the time or the stamina :p For the most part this hasn't bothered me, but there were a couple of scenes I would have liked to get in that I couldn't manage. 1) At the end of Fade Clark superspeeds Lex upstairs for some bedroom fun. I'd love to know what they got up to ;) 2) In the second part of the current ep Sneeze, we hear of a missing scene involving Clark, Lex and a nightmare. I never actually scripted this one because for one thing it didn't really fit in the lay-out of the episode and for another, I had enough angst to deal with and couldn't face it!

Now, my proposition is: would anyone else like to have a go at these for me? Your scene could then become an official 'bonus feature' to the story, or, if I can make it work, I could use it in a flashback sequence either this ep or in a future one. Would anyone actually be interested in this?

Another reason I'm asking is that at one or two people expressed sorrow at not seeing a full write up of scene 2) and I felt bad at not including one :p There is a further snippet in the Lexana scene, but still not much.

I would have to organise some guidelines as to what can and can't be included, naturally, but that'll come later. At the moment I'm just seeing if anyone cares. If you do drop a line in this post. Even if just 2 people wanna have a stab at this it'll be enough! If you don't, well, we'll just keep moving on as we have been :D

I know, I know, it's been FOREVER since an update. It's been bugging me too! So I thought I better explain things so you guys know why I'm being so silent at the moment.

Firstly - it's completely NOT because I've given up on the fic or run out of ideas or anything like that. I know EXACTLY how the story is going to progress (well, this ep anyway :p) so it's as frustrating for me not being able to write it as it is you not being able to read it.

What's actually happened is that I officially moved into a new basement flat with my b/f over the weekend and so the past few weeks have been taken up with a)packing, b)transporting the packing, c)unpacking, d)organising utilities etc and e)working in London OMG! (apparently that excitment still hasn't got old even after a couple of months...)

So yes, it's not that I don't want to write or I don't know what to write, it's because at the moment I DON'T HAVE TIME to write. Since the flat is not up on its feet completely yet either this situation may last another week or so as well :( I'm trying to figure out something involing train journeys and a web-book/mini-laptop but it's still work in progress (incidently, anyone know anything about web-books? pros and cons? which are the best? where to buy them? etc. Help appreciated!).

I guess what this really means is that I've been forced into a reluctant hiatus. Hopefully normal service will resume soon though. Watch this space!

Author's Note: Okay. So here's the thing. I'm in the process of moving in with my boyfriend - currently bunking with him and his mum while we look for flats - which means, and will continue to mean, the time I spend writing will be cut a fair bit. Not stopped - I'm committed, I swear! - but slowed. Since I hate to think of you guys waiting even longer between posts though, I've decided to try posting each scene as I write it, just to keep things moving. I've no idea if this will work, as I've been known to change things in scene 1 while writing scene 5 and such, and my last attempt at something similar during Mercy didn't exactly go to plan, but we'll see. This means some updates will necessarily be exposition based, of course, for which I'm sorry, but it can't be helped. Everyone's support for this fic so far has already been way more than I expected, so thank you for that :D I'm trying hard not to let you down and I hope the change in style won't put you off!
